#107 Returning the Favor Pass it On The Life of an Owner Operator Flatbed Truck Driver Vlog

all right good morning we're in the rest area here in Louisiana we got here last night it was raining pretty hard it's the first time I've been in this rest area since they rebuilt it but for tonight at the big parking spot a big sleeper truck down there nice plenty of parking I great kind of rainy and nasty all day so now it's Christie recruit nice around here plenty of parking spots here we'll go around the back right here [Music] for the few book what no let's see he has a lift axle you see those little air bags right there this little air bag right there so inflate those air bags and it'll cause that axle to pick up off the ground I'd like a system like that sometimes but what that does is when you're not real happy you pick that axle up and all you need is one axle because you can have 20,000 pounds on the back axle and you save a little bit of fuel mileage but kind of what a lift axle system looks like but all kinds of parking back here all kinds of parking there Oh real nice Louisiana did good I give him a lot of credit he did good on this this rest area nice to see that nice to see that I think about truck drivers [Music] so we got we're going to try to do a little over 600 miles today we're going to go over are going to check the fuel prices in Louisiana we probably buy a little bit of fuel right in Shreveport and then we'll get some fuel over by Weatherford Texas and then that'll be the last cheap fuel for a while so well we get the Weatherford we're going to fill up everything get as much as we can on the truck so all right let's get going and talk in a bit all right good morning we already did the walk-around around the rest area here we're getting ready to go make a phone call my glasses real quick I did want to say I watch YouTube for entertainment like most of you guys watching my channel for entertainment and if you remember trucker who a lot of you guys came over or trucker who and he talked about me well I've been watching this one guy and he's just started and this morning I was watching a couple of his videos he got eight subscribers he is just getting started with trucking trucking videos and I think he's going to be pretty good clean language very mellow very mellow guy he's not trying to tell you a company he's not trying to sell you will work for this company he just I mean I got another phone call let me answer this phone calls right back hello all right I know I left you guys when we were dead over in Louisiana I got a phone call and I had to make him talk on the phone for a while so I can't I kind of got screwed up I kind of got screwed up making a video [Music] Oh anyway we're in Texas that was the Texas Welcome Center I booked a load for next Friday out of Tucson going to Ohio and I was on my phone call was about which worked out pretty good means I'm going to stay home for a week and uh so I'll be home probably Saturday and those don't Friday next week some people call weeks but I'm happy about that anyway we just said we're going to make our way over to weather protected you are in the fuel we've actually been doing pretty good on our fuel mileage [Music] we're mr. Gere so we've been doing pretty good on a fuel mileage we're going to make our way over the Weatherford that'll be our last fuel quite cheap I mean it's going to be about two dollars and I think I was a bit of two dollars 12 cents a gallon so that everything else from there on it's going to be 2 xx plus a gallon see what else is going on oh I know I want to say I've been watching YouTube and I watch other channels and you know entertainment - and I've stumbled across a new guy I mean he is brand new you've got about 12 videos out and I really like this mile it clean no cussing no bad language is positive and just talked about just regular everyday routine which I really like he actually got I think he actually does a little better than I do so I actually really enjoyed watching this videos was if you get a chance check him out his channel is Anthony black beard Anthony black beard I'll put a link down in the description I don't know I you know he needs to he's doing I was watching it this morning and he's only got 8 subscribers but I really like what he's going to and if you guys remember trucker who and a lot of you people came over from trucker who you know Tucker who called me out on time too and it really helped help my channel and it helped out I appreciate everybody coming over so I just kind of wanted to return the favor yeah if you go check him out he's brand-new he's got about 12 videos out he puts them out every day out of every day every other day and he just talking about it and daily activities which is pretty cool so he's not trying to tell you on a company or anything how do you know what company works for anyway check him out Anthony Blackbeard all right we have just got a long day we're in Texas we just crossed that Tuesday line back there to camp and I took Cali dog out real quick we're going to make our way over to the other side of forward to weather protected which is about four five year four hundred and two hundred and twenty miles we're gonna fill up with fuel then we're going to make our way down here Pecos Texas and that a food is right at more right and our 12 hour mark 11 hour mark for log book and then that's going to leave us like four hours for tomorrow which should be enough to get us over to El Paso Texas and we're going to have to leave El Paso Texas and about probably probably about two three o'clock in the morning to get over to Arizona and coming to deliver that's a plan beautiful day to day this night gets a little windy out there so hopefully we won't get too much of a headwind we've done pretty good we've gone almost 800 files on 2/3 of the tank fuel which me that's pretty good so good hi I will talk to guys when we get over to Weatherford to get the feel talk to you later all right we made it over here to what text we're going to pull into the pilot truck stop here is a fuel and buddy does it look like a mess this place is always Oh [Music] spot here do this one right so right here we got about three hundred and forty miles to get down to where I want to be down by Pecos so we got going we got to take our 30-minute break we got we've got a little over six hours so we should be okay to get on down there I want to get as far as I can today and then tomorrow get over like a total passive loss greece's all right well let me wait in line get the fuel and talk to you guys in a bit all right we got fuel took our break to Cali out we've been here about 52 minutes I had a sandwich peanut butter and jelly sandwich and one kind of cup of coffee we got about five more hours to go we got 5 hours and 54 minutes left of driving time for today so I think we're going to be good we're going to end up down in the there's a rest area near Pecos Texas real nice rest area that's where we're going to end up and that'll get us close enough for tomorrow like I got three dogs in this trip and it's close enough for tomorrow to get over to I'm trying I'm hoping to get the las cruces at the tas in Las Cruces so hi let's get going and I'll see you guys a little bit [Music] hi we're almost done we only got about four more miles to go to the rest area however what is going on but they are not doing a very good job with dust control Brown grind looks like to grinding up the road or something I just got into this mess right here what's wrong but I don't know why whatever is causing all that dust is going that way because I haven't gotten into it yet I don't know is driving into the ground up all the road over there but they mi got a mess hopefully the rest area is open [Music] we got about three more miles [Music] all right we made it to the rest area just outside of Pecos Texas this is a nice big rest area community park it's almost about 8 o'clock local time here we got plenty of parking son Stefan Cali dogs getting some fresh air loads looking good everything looks good we did about six little over 600 miles today about 6:30 we got about the 5 hours on the clock for tomorrow so we're going to try to make it over to Las Cruces and then at midnight we're going to gain back about 10 hours midnight Thursday we're going to gain it back about 10 hours and make our way over to Arizona 4:00 in the morning loads looking good everything's looking good [Music] the rough road someone for mudflaps what happens is they they shake in the practices but everything looks good everything looks good trucks doing a good day starting to warm up I was looking at the weather at home and it's going to be it's going to be over a hundred at home so kind of dog I take you for a walk but that area over there is just full of stickers so we might just walk on the concrete but ah so tomorrow we make our way to El Paso about five hours and then take a break and then we're going to
