What is going on everyone? Welcome back to the world according to Briggs. Let's talk about some really small towns like count the population using your finger size towns not even your thumbs just your fingers there's plenty of cities towns and small towns throughout the United States with populations in the hundreds in the thousands in the hundreds of thousands and in the millions but there's even some places in this country with populations smaller than the population of my house there's seven of us in total two big house not living like three to a room with bunk beds got plenty of room there's just seven of us so why do these tiny towns exist in a lot of cases that used to be normal sized towns with a couple hundred residents maybe a mine or factory shut down and most the residents moved on and a few stayed whatever the reason these towns are official government recognized towns even though the population has dropped to single digits the towns are still on the books as a town now I'll be up front and tell you right off the bat that I've never been to any of these towns not many people have because there are very few pictures online of these towns so forgive my lack of accurate visuals but that being said why don't we take a look at the tiniest towns in America number 10 Lost Springs Wyoming population 4 la Springs Wyoming is 78 miles east of Casper in a few minutes this side of mind-numbing boredom according to Mayor Lita price there's always been more than one person living in the town even though there's been reports that it just had one resident she said that there were three residents right for the 2010 census and in some way shacked up with one locals and basically busted the population out before this tiny town got its name from some miners who settled the town they weren't able to find the Springs that were on a map that they had bought sounds like some sleazy real-estate agent sold him some land gave him a map and said there's a spring right here there's your land he takes off they're stuck with a dry patch of land and now there's only four people living there they do have a bar called The Lost bar and they got more than one sign one on the window and one outside there it says welcome hunters okay okay it's like they're given the okay for hunters to come in are there other places hunters aren't allowed to come in and have a drink number nine Travis stock New Jersey population five Travis stock is a borough in Camden County New Jersey at the 2010 census the population was five they lost 19 people since the 2000 census when they had 24 in case you didn't want to do the math this town or borough was founded so some dudes could play golf at their Country Club on Sundays back around 1920 the county they were in had a law against participating in sporting events on Sunday this sucked because they had a Country Club with a golf course and these dudes had two days off a week and one of those days they couldn't put on ridiculous clothes and chase a small ball the size of a hamster around of course the size of a small city so they decided to break off from the county and make their own town Travis Stock succession from Haddonfield New Jersey was all about playing golf number eight who Dowell Oklahoma population four who Dahl has really had a population boom the last decade or so at the 2000 census they had one resident and a horse named Willy at the 2010 census Willy was dead but they now had four residents see progress I mean except for Willy if you're looking for a small town that gives you one in five chance of being elected mayor and lakefront property move to who down the town of who dal is on the eastern shore of Lake Hudson the legs actually reservoir but still since Lake Hudson is attached to snow Dale State Park location is popular place for boating fishing camping and hiking so all around this place is a hoot oh yes comedy gold there number seven lot see Oklahoma lot C is a town in Tulsa County Oklahoma and it is also where I parked my car at the last hockey game I went to actually this town is spelled L o t s EE not l OT c l OT s EE the population was to residents as of the 2010 census compared to 11 in the 2000 census so they've lost some people in case you don't want to do the math they've lost nine people it is the smallest incorporated municipality in Oklahoma now this one came to be because Rancher George Campbell had been letting boy scouts and churches camp on his ranch for years 1963 nearby city of Tulsa Oklahoma was trying annex as much of the surrounding land as they possibly could Campbell was worried they were gonna you know kind of in Golf his ranch and he'd become part of the city and he'd have to follow local ordinance prohibiting things like camping or whatever else he was doing there so he filed to incorporate a new town and named it after his daughter lot see today lot c and her husband mike are the only two residents of the town the ranch is pretty much the whole town but still it's even got a highway sign you can see it on the highway number six brewster florida population three Brewster's another mining town that residents abandoned not for good reasons brewster used to have all the amenities to support a town of miners and their families but when the mining company was shut down due to its carefree attitude and actions towards the environment they were forced to sell the town to the state the village of brewster was founded in 1910 and for decades flourished as a phosphate mining operation it was a total company town the town had its own schools doctor's office theater post office which was established in 1913 and discontinued in 1961 it even had a swimming pool number five monthly Minnesota population five Bunkley Minnesota had a population of five at the 2010 census making this town the least populous incorporated place in Minnesota Bunkley was incorporated in 1904 at the side of the junction along the Minnesota and international railway the name comes from Henry Bunkley a local attorney back in the day because of its location it still gets a lot of visitors mostly hunters hunters are welcome here too mayor Emil Erickson is also the town's bartender so you can get the key to the city and a scotch and Soda at the same place it's that simple the mayor also likes to hand out funky bucks this is a voucher with his own face on it and it's good for one free drink Erickson and the City Council member members there might be to want to keep the town going they're just really hoping to get a call from anyone anyone who might want to move there I'm sure they welcome a call from Walmart Target 7-eleven anyone set up shop there I don't know I don't know if they want people set up shop but they definitely want people to move there number four warm River Idaho population o war warm river isn't much of a town if you're driving down the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway you turn to your wife and say why didn't you go to the restroom when we were at big Judds and Ashton fifteen minutes ago you'll miss it but it does have a popular campground it became an incorporated council the local store could obtain a liquor license what's camping without a few beers and a wife with an overactive bladder right warm river was incorporated in the 1940s so they wouldn't get a visit from the state for breaking the law restricting liquor sales to only incorporated municipalities see they were forward-thinking they knew campers needed beer so they became a town just too bad they only got four people living there right now number three Bonanza Colorado population five formerly known as Bonanza City Bonanza town is largely an abandoned silver mining operation the majority of bonanza burned down in 1937 today collapsed structures actually outnumber the ones that are still standing Bonanza was never much of a boomtown or really much into countin their residents they're really not sure how many people lived here at its peak this town must have really depressing tinder options you swiped twice cuz they're both related the third one's a goat yeah not fun number two Bonanza Utah population one look at that two towns named Bonanza it's like a bonanza bonanza yes more comedy gold it's the only commercial gilsu night mining operation in the world you may not have heard of gill tonight but it's shiny black subspecies of asphalt and it basically shades the ink in your printer and it seals driveways and roads most of the company's 225 workers live 48 miles away in Vernell I think it's pronounced brunnelle brunnelle anyway but Bonanza still has 26 houses a processing plant administration buildings and one dude that I imagined just reads a lot how bad would it be if he got a new resident and that resident was an uber driver he's just parked in front of your house waiting for you to go someplace all hours of the day and night uncomfortable yelling out your window move on uber man I'm not going anywhere and number one greenhorn Oregon population two with an elevation of six thousand three hundred and six feet greenhorn is Oregon's highest city that is an altitude high if you're looking at it from the other way of being high I believe Portland would be Oregon's highest city at least most nights it would be greenhorn was founded during the 1860s during a gold rush the land around greenhorn is amazing I could see myself spending a lot of years here have given the opportunity I've into something or organ a couple times it's not too far away from greenhorn I love the area anyway greenhorn now serves as a vacation retreat and hunting cabins for a handful of part-time residents the town's two residents Joyce papal I believe it's pronounced and Rob Bergstrom account for the town's entire permanent population I did read one report that either raw nor Joyce or both of them had moved away but I no confirmation on that all right so that is ten of the tiniest towns in the United States that's like a tongue twister I hope you guys enjoyed the video this was in no particular order they're just these are the ten smallest towns I could find that actually had people living in them anyway hope you guys enjoyed the video don't forget
