- These are 10 new fast food hacks to save you money in 2023. And some of these secrets
will save you serious cash at your favorite fast food restaurants. Secret number one applies to McDonald's. If you enjoy a six-piece
McNugget meal as a special treat, or on a more regular basis, you'll know it costs 6.69 before tax, but what many people don't know is, you can order the exact same
meal for only 4.99 instead, Here's how you do it. Instead of ordering the
six-piece Chicken McNugget meal, order the six-piece Kids McNugget meal, and instead of the side of fruit, ask for, or select an extra side of fries, and instead of water or milk,
select a medium Diet Coke, which is free of charge. Your grand total, 4.99. This meal has the exact
same quantity of everything in the standard six-piece
McNugget meal, for a buck 70 less. And don't worry, I'll have plenty more McDonald's hacks later on in this video. Secret number two is tied to Starbucks. And if you frequently
order an iced vanilla latte from Starbucks, priced
at a ridiculous $5.45, you can actually order the
exact same beverage for 4.25. Here's what to do. Order a Grande Iced Shaken Espresso, with vanilla syrup, in
place of the regular syrup, with which this drink is usually made, and ask for two espresso shots, instead of the included three. You've now built an Iced Vanilla Latte, for $1.20 cents less. You'll notice that at a first glance, the two drinks I have side by
side, look a little different. But as soon as I give this
dupe drink a slight shake, it not only looks the same,
it also tastes identical. And a reminder for any of these hacks, be patient and polite. It's never worth ruining the day of a hard working fast food employee, just to save a few dollars. Secret number three, if you're a big fan of Raising Canes, as my family is, you
will love this next hack. You can enjoy the highly popular,
yet pricey, Caniac combo, for a lower price than
anyone else is paying. Here's what you do. Instead of ordering the
regular Caniac Combo, that comes with six chicken
strips, one Texas toast, a side of coleslaw, and two sides of their beloved Cane sauce, at a staggering $15.30, you would be better off
ordering their Box Combo. The Box Combo includes four
strips, Texas toast, coleslaw, and one Cane sauce. So order that with a side
of two extra chicken strips, and one additional sauce. My grand total drops from 15.38, to 14.83, thanks to these modifications, for the exact same quantity of food. My savings of 55 cents
might not sound like a lot, but I've noticed in this economy, especially with my growing family, every cent counts, and adds up quickly. Number four, speaking of family, I stumbled across this next hack while organizing a pizza
party for my daughter, Mara. If you were to order three
one-topping medium pizzas at Pizza Hut, your price would be a staggering 36.95, depending upon your location. Here's how to make that cheaper. Go to the deals section of
the Pizza Hut app, or website, select the Big Box Dinner. And from the three options presented, get three one-topping medium pizzas, so you can create your own pizza. I chose two pepperoni pizzas,
and one plain cheese pizza, and my grand total was
$22.99, instead of 36.95. All three pizzas were served
to me in this one big box, and beside it, how it would look, if you ordered the three
medium pizzas individually. If you are enjoying this video, feel free to give it a like,
and share it with a friend, or family member. Hack number five. If you are a huge fan of Chipotle, but you can't stomach the price of their burritos these
days, here's how to save big. Instead of ordering a normal burrito, at its insane regular price of $8.45, order one regular taco for $3.05, fully loaded with all of
your favorite toppings. And then ask for a tortilla on the side, which will cost you an
additional 55 cents. Empty the contents of your custom taco into that side tortilla you purchased, and not only will you
get a nice hardy burrito, but you've produced a
nearly identical version for $3.55 less. In my prior Fast Food Hacks video, there was a public outcry,
based on how I rolled a burrito. I have since worked to improve
my skills, or lack thereof. Please feel free to critique
me in the comments section. Secret number six is for Burger King, where I reveal how to score a Whopper for less than what Burger
King wants you to pay. Order a single quarter pound King, ask to remove the cheese and mustard, and then add lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Your result is a Whopper. But instead of paying a whopping
6.29, you'll now pay 5.29. A similar swap can help you
save on a Whopper Junior. If you are ordering one of those, a Whopper Junior cost 2.99. Instead, order a plain
hamburger, add lettuce, tomato, and onion, to that burger, and you'll end up with a
dupe of the Whopper Junior, for $1.89, instead of 2.99. You'll save a buck 10. Through June 30th of this year, you can get free fries with any purchase, every week at Burger King, by simply creating an
account on their app. Secret number seven, did you know you can buy
many virtually identical fast food products, from stores where you already shop, that you can enjoy on your own time, for a fraction of the cost? Let's start with the grocery chain Aldi, where you can buy a dupe of the Chick-fil-A sandwich chicken, a nearly perfect replica of
the McDonald's french fries, and you could even find sliders, with the White Castle
burger chain branding. One of the lesser known
facts of this entire video is at Walmart, you can find knockoffs for your favorite fast
food dipping sauces, for only 2.28 per bottle. These include this secret sauce, which is a supposed ode
to the Big Mac sauce, this zesty sauce, which is a dupe of the Cane
sauce at Raising Canes, and this chicken dipping
sauce, which is a recreation of what you would receive from
Chick-fil-A, among others. For warehouse club shoppers, Costco offers a dupe of the filets you'd find in a Chick-fil-A sandwich, alongside Nugget knockoffs. At Sam's Club, the copycat marketing
is even more blatant, where this chicken sandwich
Chick-fil-A knockoff pays tribute to both the
Chick-fil-A color scheme, and the trademark waffle fries. They even sell a spicy
version of the same sandwich. Chicken Bites look like
a clear carbon copy of the Chick-fil-A nuggets. And of course, to complete your meal, imitation waffle fries are available too. Hack number eight is a reminder you should never be paying full price for a Footlong at Subway in 2023. A regular Footlong
ranges from 8.99 to 9.99. But coupon code 599footlong
with no known expiration date at the time this video is being recorded, can lower your price to 5.99, saving you up to $5 on
the price of one sub. For those of us buying
more than one Footlong, whether it's to eat at a
later time, or for a friend, another powerful coupon code I referenced in my last video, is freefootlong. Enter that coupon code at checkout, when buying two sandwiches, and your total price drops by 50%. For my next point, if
you frequent Taco Bell, a point I saw and found useful, could help you feel more full
on a really tight budget. Here's what to do. Instead of ordering a regular beef taco that just comes with
lettuce, beef and cheese, order the spicy potato
soft taco in its place, and add seasoned beef. You'll get a heftier 300-calorie taco, comprised of fried potatoes, ground beef, creamy chipotle sauce, lettuce, and cheese, for around 30 cents more than
the cost of the original. Those ingredients are
likely to make you feel full for a longer period of time, and could help avoid that
more costly temptation of purchasing additional tacos. While we're on the topic of Taco Bell, here's how to beat delivery
apps like DoorDash, at their own game. Let's say you wanted to order four soft tacos from Taco Bell,
and four hard shell tacos. Many people would place their order directly on a food
delivery app like DoorDash. In this case, my DoorDash
taco total is 23.72, and once I add the $3 default tip, for demonstration purposes, the grand total 26.72. Now watch what happens if you open the native
Taco Bell app directly, and punch in the exact same
order, requesting delivery. Not only are the individual
tacos a cheaper price, compared to DoorDash pricing, but the grand total for the
exact same order with delivery, which funny enough is also
handled through DoorDash, It's $22.60 after that $3 tip. That is a savings of $4.12 for DoorDash delivering your order, but you placing it directly
through the Taco Bell app. Now, here's an even more dramatic
example tied to Chipotle. Let's say you were to order
a burrito with brown rice, beans, salsa, corn, and veggies. Your total after that
$3 default tip, $22.71. On the native Chipotle app, the exact same order the
$17.13, after that same $3 tip. The Chipotle app also uses
DoorDash for delivery. You've saved $5.58 cents on one order, just by knowing which app to use. - For hack number 10, before
I get to the bonus section, as promised, I have
returned to McDonald's. And this time, how to avoid bad leather-like buns, without spending any money whatsoever. When ordering your favorite
burger at the drive-through, or in person, ask for a steamed bun as a substitute for the regular bun. This steamed bun, typically used on the
Filet-O-Fish sandwich, is softer, which was more than evident
during my taste test. On the right as the cheeseburger
with the regular bun, and on the left, you'll
see the same cheeseburger, except with the steamed
bun, and a bouncier texture. It looks almost like
it's from a commercial. And I can conclude it tastes fresher, and is well worth this simple request. And for those of you who consider
yourself extremely frugal, order a Sausage McMuffin,
with an egg on the side, rather than ordering the
standard Sausage Egg McMuffin. The sausage McMuffin with egg on the side will cost you $3.48, While the non-DIY version costs 3.59. As you can see here, I saved 11 cents, by just putting the egg
on the sandwich myself, recreating that exact
same breakfast favorite. And now, to a bonus that will
score you an entire free month of unlimited beverages at Panera. If you are not aware,
through the Panera app, you can enjoy 30 days
of unlimited free iced, and hot coffees or teas,
fountain beverages, or their new charged lemonades. Just sign up for the Unlimited SIP Club, on the Panera app. After your 30 free days, if you don't want to pay
a monthly subscription fee moving forward,
you can easily cancel, or keep it going if you are
a frequent Panera visitor. I put this to the test, selected the beverage
I wanted from the app. And in the store, the self-serve beverage station took only a matter of seconds, which I can enjoy for
one month free of charge. If you're a fan of the
fast food chain, Five Guys, which uses peanut oil for
its cooking, and as a perk, allows you to enjoy a
self-serve side of free peanuts while you wait for your food in one of these small cardboard trays. Based on the crazy rising cost of peanuts, if you frequently dine at Five Guys, there is no shame in
refilling that cardboard tray. I refilled this cardboard tray
with peanuts, several times. And since it's kind of hard
to carry this tray around, or bring it in your car,
I poured the peanuts into the paper bag, with
which my meal was served, and I did not receive
any negative feedback, or dirty looks from the store workers. Obviously enjoy their free peanuts, and apply this refill hack in moderation. This tip is not encouraging
anyone to begin a peanut heist. But it is a great reminder, you can enjoy peanuts on the go, thanks to Five Guys. I've also received many requests for ways to help family
save money at Panda Express. And while there aren't
too many Panda hacks, here's one tip that can help. If you are a family of four, where every person usually
orders their own plate combo, instead, opt for the
Panda Express Family Meal, where you get two large
sides of your choice, and three large entrees. As a reference, here is
the original plate combo, that most people would order, and then right here is
the giant family meal, that could easily feed up to five people, depending upon appetites. I know these little containers
don't look huge on camera, so I poured the contents from one of them into a very large bowl. And as you can see, this is
clearly an oversized portion. The Panda Express Family
Meal costs 35 bucks, while an order of four
individual plate combos, is $38.40. This one adjustment will
save you at least $3.40, every time. If you have a fast food hack to share, please leave it in the
comment section below. I love you. Bye bye.
