Hello friends this is cool news and today we are going to be talking about some minimalist home gym products here's how I Define minimalist this is for people that want to build a smaller home gym or don't necessarily want to spend a ton of money but still want to pack a lot of Versatility now I want to make a little bit of a disclaimer here not all of these items are cheap I'm going to start with an item that's 25 and build up all the way to an item that's around 800 and everything in between every one of these products can pack a ton of Versatility that's my thought you could buy just one of these and get a tremendous workout Standalone that was the goal first off before I get into the specific reviews and recommendations on these items number one these products were sent to us free of charge mostly some of them we probably purchased but I want to make it clear to you that that's how we work that said they're not going to change what I say about them these are products that I actually use and have used in my training and do honestly recommend them also if you'd like to support the channel you can do so very easily there will be links below like button please check out on those the companies will pay us a small commission if you purchase through there but it doesn't affect the price you pay but it does affect the content that we can continue to make so thank you for doing that lastly if you're into this sort of content or trying to build a home gym you would love us so make sure you subscribe because we have a lot more videos forth come in without further Ado number one the first one and this is the cheapest one on the list is one that I talk about all the time I'm an absolute fan despite me having a probably a hundred thousand dollar home gym at this point this is an item I still use nearly every upper body day and that is gymnastics rings gymnastics rings in my opinion are the ultimate upper body builder without a doubt you can go and buy a big squat rack a big dumbbells but if you look at the body development of gymnasts that are using primarily gymnastics rings they'll blow anybody away it's insane the amount of training and strength you can build with just a simple wooden or plastic ring attached to some gymnastic straps if I was going to have a minimalist home gym number one I wouldn't have a home gym without gymnastic rings I just wouldn't I think they're much better than pull-up bars I think pull-up bars are great I just think they're more versatile and they're also harder because it's a dynamic position and you can use them singularly one in one and you can put them at different heights depending on how you want to train but also they're so small so cheap and can pack up and you can travel with if you're doing them outside you can get Plastics like naoyas that's what I have at my garage but wood is so much better for grip and chalk I would recommend items Titan fitnesses gymnastics rings are both very cheap they offer multiple diameters fig and a 30 millimeter the straps are great and they're so cheap and they're very well sanded made everything like that I'd recommend those okay next one so the next item is a way to add a kettlebell type training to your gym so this is really for people that already have dumbbells you know it's like people honestly oftentimes will start with dumbbells versus a squat rack or a barbell in plates but they're like man I would like to do some kettlebell swings some carries and just change up my training and this is a way that you can do that and the cheapest way you can do that and so the product I'm talking about is this this is the kettle grip it's plastic that's the downside but that's also the positive and why it's cheap but it has this grip in between and then a small clamp very simple design but despite it being simple and plastic it's actually quite robust and how long it'll last I mean for 35 bucks this allows you to transform nearly any dumbbell as long as it has a smallish normal size handle into a kettlebell of sorts now they say and only recommend you use up to 55 pound dumbbells and for most people that's going to be fine that said although they won't warranty for this I've tested this with a 150 pound York round head dumbbell and it worked just fine and this was actually the exact one I used for that but if you're looking for a way to increase the versatility you've already got and you've got a set of dumbbells and you're trying to stay under a certain price point like I think this can add a lot in a small compact form that's also really cheap this next item is really morphed towards lower body so this one technically you're not going to be using it for upper body and it's similar to The Kettle grip and that you need a set of dumbbells or you need a kettlebell or something that you can attach to it and that item is monkey feed monkey feet are a way to basically put a hand on your foot and one reason is so cheap is because of the components they're using however I think it's actually really well done you can add just about any size dumbbell you want to it and suddenly you can use it for things like leg extensions leg curls I've used it for hip flexor things I've done it hanging from a pull-up bar things that a lot of people are already doing in a commercial gym they go to their home gym they're like man I'm used to using this type of movement but I can't afford or have the space for a dedicated leg extension leg curl machine this is where that comes in handy so if you're building the minimalist home gym and you want something specifically for lower body I think these are a great addition so long as you have dumbbells okay with the idea of Maximum versatility and also compact form this next item and kind of this category in general is one I would definitely look at I have two items within this category by the way I've reviewed and tested nearly all of these on the market I've done a full breakdown on them we'll put a link below like button and that is weight best weight vests can be extremely versatile there's a way to add a lot of weight to your body with just a vest and the one that I think is the most versatile is and this won't be a surprise to people that follow the channel is the kensory vest this is one that when it initially came on the market I was like Ah that's kind of goofy the reason I thought it was Goofy is it had these long horns out the front and you attached weight plates to it and I was like well that's great but you're going to have a hard time using it for push-ups and things like that that a lot of people are using for weight vests they've changed the design and improved it based upon some of our feedback and so now this screw is actually instead of shooting all the way off just screws all the way in so the amount of like distance between between you and the floor on a push-up it's just your weight plate which I think is absolutely genius the other ones are nice like a normal standard bulletproof type weight vest from Rogue Fitness or 511 but here's the problem you have to use the weight plate they have you can't incrementally increase it without purchasing more and the max that most of those go up to is like 40 pounds this can go up to over 200 pounds but with the idea of Versatility think about it you can use this for a squat rack I use it for pull-ups you can use it for rucking you can use it for squats you can use it for lunges anything adding body weight to yourself you can use it for that but you can also use it for runs and things that you would normally use at weight fit for I really like this product especially for the price their cheapest one is around 79 bucks I recommend getting a little bit higher level one because if you're using it a lot the cheaper one will just start rubbing into your shoulders a little bit that said big fan of these I would highly recommend them another product that's kind of like that is a rug pack there's lots of companies making backpacks that are designed for rocking mean it's going to be no surprise to you that the go-to company is goruck they kind of defined and created that category and they still own it to this day a lot of people love rucking I use the goruck gr1 as a backpack oftentimes but it also allows you to use it as a rug pack I think rug packs are great because when you're using them versus a weight vest is they open your shoulders up more learning to carry heavy loads over long distances I think is something that could be very beneficial for most people you don't have to use weight plates you could just put sand or gravel or I mean really whatever you want those things last forever they have the scars lifetime guarantee so even if you do rip them or something they'll fix them big fan of pretty much all go rug products but specifically the Rucker pack if you're looking for a ruckings type thing you can use it for all sorts of things similar way you can use weight vests so I would look at that another product that we get more from the calisthenic Community which calisthenics are people that are doing mostly body weight workouts this product is really focused on that community and I think you can get very strong and very fit doing that I prefer using barbells but that's more of a preference this product can be used in that way and that is the Lieber Fitness equalizer these are essentially tall parallettes like there's not a whole lot of technology or unique things about them except that they're stable they're like parallettes and that they're mobile and you can expand them but they're taller and they offer different lengths this allows you to use them for dips in a similar way that you would use dip bars say on a squat rack but you can move them out you can use them for levers they have some that you can use specifically for pull-ups because they're a little bit taller you can use them for push-ups this is a product that because it's so Compact and mobile you can put them away take them out use them and you can use them for a lot of upper body type workouts I would look at these if you don't have a place for a pull-up bar or dip bar or Rings or you just want something that you can compactly put away very easily and take out plus you want to do levers and things like that because I think parallettes are great and these are just kind of an updated version of those all right so on the idea of something that you can do pull-ups dips things like that another possible item that allows you to do some of the things you can do on the Liebert Fitness equalizer but I think in a more stable way is the pull up and dip bar one of the most unique names in the world so this is how it works you take a plate it's like a triangle type plate and you screw it into the studs of your wall you then have this modular piece that attaches to it and can either be put upright which is more of a pull-up bar it has horns off the front and handles on the side or you can flip it upside down very simply and quickly so it's still secure but it's very easy to take off and put back on and then you can use it for a dip bar I think it's like really smart I love when people use unique ways to use their studs on the walls like the studs on your walls are just so much stronger than most people realize lies I like this because again offers versatility if you want extra versatility you can add things like TRX straps or gymnastics rings to it and then you can use it in that way but also allows you to do pull-ups and dips in a very compact platform and works really well if you're not wanting to spend quite that much money which I actually think is pretty affordable around 250 bucks another option is one that we've reviewed in the past and is a wall mount Power Tower it's definitely lower quality but it also adds the ability to use leg raises with basically the seat that you find on a lot of power Towers there's a bunch of companies that produce these we'll put a link below like button to it make sure you check those out because they'll direct you to the right place this next one is a lot different from the other products I've talked about and jumps up in price a bit but I do think it has the opportunity again Compact and I think is one of the most versatile products on this list and that is the Iron master super bench such an adjustable bench that you can use like a flat bench or a standard adjustable bench just like any other bit and I also like this because this is something that you could have as like a standalone gym of sorts to start with and then over time you can still use it as you fill out your space and buy more stuff I love that idea so with this they have all these attachments in just an example you can have pull-up bars off the back you can have dip bars off the back it uses the frame and the bench as the station to connect to and then all these other things connect to them they actually have a cable Tower where you can do lap pull Downs with it I mean there's just a lot that they're adding to this that I think is really cool and allows you to have again something that's very versatile in a small platform for the price due to the versatility I actually really like this one and I think somebody that's using dumbbells but also wants to add a bunch of Versatility I think this product is perfect okay two more products left and these get a little bit more pricey one is the X3 bar or the harambe resistance system so we've reviewed and compared both of these These are band resisted bars they've got foot plates but they offer training programs that you can use just these to get quite strong the reason bands are nice is because the load increases as you get further away from the plate and for most people you're stronger the farther away you get in the rep an example is a deadlift many people will only be able to do a Max 400 500 pounds but if you take that same person and you start the bar higher up on the leg you're going to be able to do much more so as you get further away from the plate the load will also increase with the resistance bands and that's why I really like these they also offer programs that allow you to basically do a ton of different workouts and work your entire body with them in a really small compact form this is a product that I think you could just have and you could get very strong with again I prefer a barbell and plates but if you're just looking for something minimalist I think these are really the standout items on this list in fact I like them so much anytime I travel because they're so Compact and it just takes fans I take them with me this last one is one that I absolutely love despite me having a full set of dumbbells I still have these in the garage and these are adjustable dumbbells there's two options that I mostly recommend there's a ton out there but the ones I like the best are power blocks and newer Bells I really like new builds at all you don't need a bench you can use them for just a ton of workouts I don't think I need to talk Ad nauseam about dumbbells you guys know the benefits if you've ever used a set of dumbbells you know the versatility and I've talked about them a ton I'll put some links below like button to our videos we've done a ton on new bells and other ones comparing all of them so if you'd like any of that check them out but man if you want something that's minimalist and you're willing to spend you know a little bit of money 8750 800 or so you can get a pair 80 pound dumbbells that offer a ton of Versatility big fan okay there's some minimalist home gym type items are there some that I missed let me know in the comments I know there are just a myriad out there I know there's some that I didn't even hit on that are in the same categories as ones I've talked about maybe I've missed some if you think I have let me know in the comments I'd love to hear them and like always we'll probably end up reviewing them we want to review everything so let me know in the comments this has been Coop from garage and reviews thanks for joining us I'll see you next time peace thank you
