10 LEGO building SINS...

in this video we're going to be talking about 10 common annoyances and mistakes that lego builders like me face all the time let's go okay so there's a lot of illegal building techniques out there but one that i see floating around the internet a lot is this one where you take two plates and face them in opposite directions with these cheese wedges well some people try doing the same trick but with bricks and this happens i'm guilty of doing this myself but you'll pretty much end up with an unusable brick that won't go down all the way i've never been able to remove these slopes and they usually end up just going into the trash or i step on them to punish myself i gotta be honest snacking while building is a huge vibe plus watching netflix oh we on a whole new level people but what i'm guilty of doing so many times is eating some greasy snacks then trying to fondle a transparent part onto a window frame i mean this glass piece was as clean as my mouth when i go to church on sundays but look at it now i get the same feeling getting my glass pieces dirty as i do grabbing a pair of glasses by the lens same thing also happens with black bricks they have some reflection to them but after getting your finger grease on them for a certain amount of time they just don't really shine as much so i made a tick talk about two weeks ago about some star wars minifigs and a lot of you guys commented how i didn't correctly orient the lightsaber hilt to the blade so i want to apologize people but i also want to make it known so people don't make the same mistake as me just remember when you're putting together a lightsaber the thin end goes on the bottom and the thick end attaches to the blade so now you can be a true jedi master and flex on all the haters okay so i love designing my own custom lego creations which means i'm constantly putting pieces together and taking them apart and the most fragile lego pieces i've ever dealt with are these ones in brown like seriously they break so easily i'm just snapping these like hershey's chocolate bars like look how weak this is legit brown pieces suck meanwhile look at this okay that probably made you lose some brain cells which is why i want to warn you to never pry off a brown piece next to another piece because this will sometimes happen as a trick i've learned to remove everything around it first then take the piece off in that case it doesn't have any other piece to stress against if it's a large plate a separator usually won't do anything instead i try lightly prying each corner off with my nails then it will start getting loose and eventually it will come off here's a bunch of brown plates i'm going to place them down take them off with my brick separator and see how many we break dang none of them actually broke now we're going to step it up a notch uh oh broken not broken broken okay so out of the 32 plates we had 14 of them broke now let's try another color literally none of them broke okay so for this next topic i'm gonna buy a lego set [Music] i saved the sticker packet for last because what i'm about to do might hurt yep that's right guys one of the most evil things to do as a lego builder is to carelessly put stickers on wrong i used to be trash at doing this job but now i usually just don't put stickers on at all sometimes you realize it's not placed on right so you go to remove it you put it on again and you realize that one corner is damaged or if you're a dog owner like me you put the sticker on to find a piece of hair underneath it or sometimes you even find your own account anyway back to the video y'all now when i was a kid i used to grab my sharpie and i'd start drawing faces on the back sides of minifig heads i try to make all kinds of weird expressions or have one head with the mouth open one with the mouth closed so i could do cool stop motions and have the minifig look like it's talking just like this what felt super cool and dope as a kid is just something that now lies around with the rest of my lego minifig heads and i never take them out and use them it's kind of sad though i feel like toy story andy when he was about to leave for college and these heads are just old toys that won't get played with anymore eventually they're going to find a brand new home aka the garbage bin just king i might keep these because these are so nostalgic something that hurts a lot of people to watch as gluing lego there's some cases we're doing this is actually pretty helpful like at lego land a lot of these giant structures are held together by glue which i mean makes sense because i mean who wants a giant lego creation that probably took months to make to just fall over and shatter into pieces when a mom wants her kid to take a picture next to it but if you're an ordinary builder like me and just want to make simple small things i don't think there's really any need to glue guys even if it's a collectible star wars set that you fear dropping more than your two-year-old baby just put it in a display and you got no worries don't be like lord business and try to pull out that crackle guys we don't need none of that crackle business okay so for the next few topics i went on to instagram and i asked you guys what you thought are some things you should never do as a lego builder and you had some great responses nope well most of you did separate the bricks with your teeth stand on your bricks put it in the toilet throw them through the window [Music] lick the bricks melt it okay we're going to turn the heat on right now uh-oh guys it's starting to melt [Music] he looks extra thick now but for real though we gotta give this guy some love because he sacrificed himself just so we can be entertained eat and then build without washing your hands eat lego [Music] throw them into hot sauce call them legos that's actually kind of true pretend they are invincible here's a barbie and here's a lego wall i built which i believe will protect it at all costs illegal building techniques this is actually very true i have ran from the cops multiple times from doing these okay so after reading countless comments there was one that stood out to me the most here we go another run to walmart except we're not grabbing lego this time yep mixing regular lego with knockoff lego when i was younger i got occasionally gifted off-brand lego sets for christmas or my birthday and i would usually mix it with my normal parts but the annoying thing is that you go to build and you realize one part isn't quite matching the right color or shape as you wanted and then you look at it and it doesn't have the lego logo on it and then you realize it's not a lego piece don't get me wrong there's some sick knock-off lego brands i've reviewed on this channel i just try to keep that stuff out of my normal lego bins they have their very own empire where they can rule their own people on their own shelf in my room i did walk in though the other day and i caught them trying to go to war with my minifigs i guess they're just trying to overtake the shelf above them but yeah it's just constant beef one of the riskiest things you can do as a lego builder is stick two plates of the same size on top of each other even with a brick separator they're really hard to remove and if you decide to go old school and use your handy fingers this happens it's usually just cross your fingers and hope they're not stuck together too tight so now i'm gonna do something that might hurt to watch here's a bunch of eight by sixteen plates and on the
