stories and parables are interesting facts about jesus his disciples and first century life in the near east here are 10 fascinating facts about jesus's life number one jesus was likely very ordinary was a carpenter matthew 13 55 and jesus must have studied the craft because he is also identified as a carpenter by the people in his hometown isn't this the carpenter isn't this mary's son and the kept looking for jesus and as they stood in the temple courts they asked one another what do you think isn't he coming to the festival at all but the chief priests and the pharisees had given orders further passover festivities that were unnoticed we do know that several time-consuming events would have occurred before to their first passover his ministry would have taken him all over judea john performed his baptism in the wilderness he fasted for 40 days and was tempted he summoned his disciples he began his preaching ministry with his family and disciples he traveled to capernaum all of
