England you'll stumble upon the Isle of Man they're a self-governing island in the Irish sea though they're technically dependent on the English crown on March 14th of 2022 Dock Workers at the Port of Douglas probably rang the late Queen for help the Ben mikri a ferry that flows between Haitian England and Douglas was coming in for a routine dock when something went horribly wrong strong Eastern winds smashed into the ferry causing them to Veer closer to the pier than necessary the crew realized they'd lost all control so they pulled out their phones to record the inevitable three two on oh yes oh yes I cannot believe that I think yeah I did not expect us to hit garnish good job now to them we're standing on that when they've done that happen Flippin heck might be our new favorite non-curse word it might look like the fairy is taking on water but that was just a bursting fire hydrant on the dock the ship operates under the Isle of Man steam packet company they've been ferrying people between men England and Ireland since 1830. in nearly 200 years of operation we believe this is the first time they crashed into the pier the company released a statement saying nobody got hurt during the accident the U.S military can make some pretty crazy weapons and vehicles but they still have to test and practice with all that stuff to make sure it works during one of those tests the USS kid set up a moving container ship several miles away they were demonstrating the capabilities of the F-18 Super Hornet fighter jets its job was to keep Pace with a tomahawk cruise missile and follow until it hit the target little did they know a family of birds had made one of those containers their home foreign [Music] watch as the missile bursts through an ultra slow motion the fire looks way bigger than it does in real time one of the angles shows our two bird friends hanging out on the container in slow motion you can see them flapping away before the missile strikes thankfully worked as intended 2021 a powerful tornado tore through shenzhou China in fact it was the first of two costly tornadoes that struck China on the same day the people of shanza are normally busy in the textile factories on May 14th they were hunkering for their lives the tornado sent debris flying everywhere it passed over multiple power sources causing blackouts across the town several angles from around the area show what it's like to be trapped in the middle of a violent storm wow what's up [Music] [Music] [Music] welcome you can see shattered glass and debris all over this one woman's apartment we can't tell if those are lightning strikes or power surges outside the window then at street level you can see the sheer level of Destruction the tornado left in its wake it's severely damaged one Factory building causing 14 people to get trapped inside firefighters arrived as quickly as they could to pull people from the wreckage a local named Mr Chen said they couldn't make emergency phone calls when the tornado struck the streets were in chaos trees power lines and factories all fell down he said it was like one of those end of the world movies Bellingham Washington is a small City about 21 miles south of the U.S Canadian border it's actually the northernmost city in the U.S not counting anything in Alaska on October 9th of 2019 a local man named Doug noticed smoke rising from his neighbor's tree what happened next was one of the craziest things he'd ever seen foreign [Music] [Laughter] according to the electric company an equipment failure caused electricity to Arc from the lines to the tree it caused a massive power outage across Southern Bellingham the fire department even got calls from people trapped in elevators thankfully the tree was the only thing damaged by the fire nobody was near or touching the tree when it caught fire if they were they would have been electrocuted according to Tree Care Professionals most power lines in residential areas come with insulation to protect them from weather trees are not good conductors but the water inside is electricity can easily Arc from the wire to the tree if the insulation erodes from there anything the tree touches is in for a real shock in the prefecture level city of hanjong China a drunk man decided he wanted to buy some fireworks the Lunar New Year was right around the corner people across hanjong were getting prepared and business was literally booming at the local fireworks shop maybe they should have paid closer attention to our drunken friend according to reports a 45 year old man named Lee stumbled into the store on January 21st of 2017. he bought some fireworks and proceeded to set them off outside the store as The Story Goes Mr Lee had some beef with the store owner that's Mr Lee walking in and buying the fireworks he takes them outside opens the box and starts firing them towards the store smoke fills the room but the only way out is through the front door now the worst part about setting off fireworks in a store full of well fireworks is the Chain Reaction within seconds the entire store begins to erupt it looks like some of the first things to go were rolls of firecrackers being stored on the shelves by this time all anybody could do was sit back and let the fireworks run their course it's like the 4th of July packed into a tiny shop in China video taken from further away shows the aftermath of the scene the entire building is Up in Flames with some fireworks still going off in the sky it didn't take firefighters long to arrive but by the time they did it was too late in one clip it actually looks like they might have been able to remove some fireworks from the building next door smart move as The Story Goes Mr Lee was caught with 259 illegal fireworks at home the cops confiscated them and entrusted them to the store owner in Lee's mind if he couldn't have those fireworks nobody could so he got drunk and took matters into his own hands he was quickly arrested and it doesn't seem like anyone got hurt during this drunken Rampage thank you before its demise the laoshaha bridge was a 60-year-old landmark in southern China it connected the city of ding Chung to wyung County and saw hundreds if not thousands of people travel across each day but after 60 years of service officials deemed the bridge unsafe in 2018 demolition crews rigged the nearly 500-foot Bridge with charges on February 6th of 2018 locals on both sides of the laosha river got to say goodbye thank you couldn't ask for a better demolition bang bang bang bang bang the charges go off perfectly one after the other an aerial shot shows one piece of the bridge that collapsed before the grand finale we wonder how far that smoke traveled down river ding Chung officials voted to build a new bridge at the exact location wait aren't you supposed to build the new bridge first Cairo is among the most famous cities on Earth it's the capital of Egypt and home to over 21 million people across the greater metro area but Cairo is most famous for hosting the greatest architectural marvels of all time the Great Pyramids of Giza but not all buildings in Cairo are as sturdy as the pyramids take this poorly built apartment building in one of the poorer districts on April 23rd of 2015 residents heard strange noises coming from the walls once they saw cracks forming they hightailed it out of there they're good foreign our cameraman's uncle lived inside the complex he said Crews were working on a building next door when the cracks appeared they must have messed something up in the foundation that or the entire structure wasn't built well enough in the first place according to the Associated Press the latter is likely true building collapses are way too common in Egypt especially in poor neighborhoods and Shanty towns shoddy construction and lack of maintenance mean many buildings never stand a chance maybe if they built the more pyramid-like they'd last longer oh you don't simply hop in a crane and start lifting stuff there's a lot of precise math involved especially when it comes to weight versus counterweight on June 13th of 2019 Dock Workers at a port in Cuba learned that you can't always rely on technology to do that math for you crane operator hakio claims his computer lied to him it said there were 23 tons of counterweight on the crane enough to lift what they needed to move but that wasn't true the crane only had eight tons of counterweight meaning it was doomed from the start hi everyone [Music] [Applause] watch how quickly things went South when the front tires came off the ground once that happens it's way too dangerous to jump back inside and try to save the day but just in case you wanted to see the underside of a crane truck here it is it looks a little silly doesn't it heavy machinery doesn't float we assume that's common knowledge but some people didn't get the memo on September 2nd of 2016 workers in Guangdong Province China learned that lesson the hard way when their excavator flipped in the middle of a pond now we're not sure what these guys were doing or why the excavator was in the pond what's clear is they didn't think the water was that deep character [Music] foreign we can't tell if the man in the Hat is chastising our driver or praising his lucky Escape look how close the platform came to hitting the driver's head even a light tap would have knocked him unconscious it's a little silly watching the other excavator arm come in and try to save the day someone should Photoshop Jack and Rose from the Titanic over this clip on April 3rd of 2021 residents in the coastal town of samud prak on Thailand fled for their lives when a monstrosity threatened their homes an oil tanker named the chalakarn suffered a jammed Rudder while sailing through the Gulf of Thailand it was on a collision course with houses along the chaofraya river passing trawlers and other vessels tried to push the ship back into open water but it was simply too big the only thing stopping this tanker was solid land residents screamed as the tanker approached you don't appreciate how big these things are until they're right on top of you [Music] everyone all right [Music] bye bye [Music] the ship finally stops one guy goes to investigate while the women stay back one local was smart enough to cut the power to the electrical Tower in case the ship damaged the lines another woman had to carry her bedridden mother to safety when they saw the ship coming as bad as it looks the tanker only damaged a few properties along the riverbed you can see where it took chunks out of the decorative cement flower pots the damage could have been much worse thankfully the captain was wise enough to toss anchors into the river to slow the boat as much as possible they were also lucky the incident occurred during low tide tie officials coordinated with the tanker's owner to pay for all damages if you enjoyed
