[Music] actors are a rare breed unto themselves they're constantly talking themselves in a mirror or while driving these are only stepping stones for the truly devoted for some actors they take things to a whole new level we hid these poses the keys to the kingdom before we start make sure you hit that subscribe button and give this video a big thumbs up also can you get the title of this film by just seeing these emojis will give you the answer at the end of this video hold on tight because here we go Louis how many times have I told you not to leave leftover sushi under your bed look I'm sorry there's so many rules in this house Shia LaBeouf Shia LaBeouf began acting around the age of 10 and consistently reinvents himself every so often he was well-known for his early years as an actor on Disney Channel's even Stephen swear he was an awkward teen then he blew up the world with his machismo persona and body in the transformer series and more then he took a complete 180 and turned his back on Hollywood productions to step into the art world it was during this phase Shia started to develop a new persona through his studying and understanding of being a meta modernist this phase is also where we get the now-infamous just do it green-screen clips just do it Thank You Shia now Shai is on his way to becoming one of cinema's most legendary actors and his role in fury proves this for this role he had a tooth pulled to look the part he cut his own face with an actual knife and kept it from closing up throughout shooting he went months without bathing he even reported he had once spent days watching horses die no that wasn't like a real tryout I was researching a book I was writing there are a lot of haters out there against Shia and his reinvention of self but we will always have a place in our hearts for you mr. LaBeouf keeping you Shia didn't teach you that finishing school no kate winslet kate winslet is definitely one of the most dedicated and extraordinary actors on this planet because of her hard work determination and natural persona she has earned critical acclaim for every role she's ever played she's the youngest actress to have received six Oscar nominations she grew to international stardom around the age of 22 playing the role of Rose do it in the small known film from 1997 called Titanic it was her performance in a 2008 movie titled the reader which garnered her first Academy Award for Best Actress this role was brutal and took a significant toll on her the reader offered viewers a forceful look at the seductive nature of the Third Reich while it gained its power and its effect on the world she spent months preparing and diving into the character which almost cost her her mental stability once the part was over she had trouble leaving the character behind and she's still not fully recovered thankfully though Winslet has not let it affect her career or homestead you don't have to apologize no one has to apologize she continues to maintain her position as a top actress in the world and lives a happy life then what do you think man nobody wants another Mad King Cole Jamie Foxx Jamie Foxx in 2004 portrayed the musical legend Ray Charles in the biopic ray the film chronicles ray from childhood on from the intensely difficult childhood he lived growing up in the segregated south to his days as a heroin addict and through his eventual triumph as an international Star Fox prior to this film spent his acting career trolling around in disposable B films and had a successful Warner Brothers sitcom but for Fox he wanted to be more he saw the role of Ray as a way to redefine himself and his role in the entertainment world the sky's the limit ray I got you a five thousand dollar a night raise for the role the 185-pound Fox shed 30 pounds he began with a week-long fast followed up with daily exercise and an intense diet but that compares nothing to what happened next Fox had prosthetics made and applied to his eyes essentially Fox had his eyes glued shut so he could live life blind like Brae this not only happened on set but off set as well during the first couple weeks of filming he suffered from panic attacks until he became accustomed to the unsettling colostrum phobic feeling in 2005 Fox won his first Oscar for Best Actor and solidified himself as an a-lister I want real gut reactions I want the audience to have gone through an experience they love me they hit me they walk out it's all great Jim Carrey it's no surprise Jim Carrey would take one of his roles to a new level he does this with every character he plays so when you're someone like Jim Carrey and you set your own bar so high how can you top that he does it by going even more extreme for his role as Andy Kaufman in the 1999 biopic man on the moon he refused to answer to his own name from the lowest production assistant and all the way up to the director Milos Forman everyone had to refer to him as Andy I am Andy and I would like to thank you for coming to my movie I wish it was better you know but it is so stupid we know what you're thinking but Screen Rant plenty of actors do this look at Daniel day-lewis on the set of Lincoln true but this goes way beyond anything Lewis did carry not only stayed in character on set but made his entire life into the Kaufman character everyone in his life had to call him Andy he studied and learned as much about every experience Andy ever had in life and went out and recreated these experiences he even had the famed wrestler Lawler performed the same piledriver that put the real Andy in a hospital for three days to fully explain everything Carrey went through we would need to dedicate a couple videos just to this role and that is what new people gonna have to start doing and start doing whatever it takes Tom Hanks Tom Hanks is revered for every solitary role he portrays there's no character this actor could portray that audiences worldwide would not fall in love with go ahead we dare you think of a reason not to like Tom Hanks my mom always said life was like a box of chocolates it's pretty much impossible you could say you weren't a fan of a particular movie he was in but no matter what the character he portrayed is extremely likable so much so people disliked his characters out of spite a huge factor in to why Hanks portrayals are so memorable is the dedication he puts into them for his role in Robert Zemeckis 2000 film cast away Hank spent six years in development for just the script alone he worked alongside the screenwriter William Broyles jr. and Zemeckis to help shape the story Hanks also spent weeks up to his neck and water to better understand life trapped on an island surrounded by water he even almost died during production when he received a cut and it got infected it led to him almost getting blood poisoning and required surgery to fix in the end Hanks won a Golden Globe and received an Academy Award nomination for his role securing once more his place as one of the greatest actors of all time start taking things a little more seriously Heath Ledger there's no way any movie list talking about actors taking roles to the next level is not going to mention Heath Ledger's role as the Joker no matter how many times his iconic role is mentioned or discussed it just plain deserves to be talked about his performance and the level at which he took to create the character will be discussed dissected and studied by filmmakers for centuries to come Ledger was a madman off screen the crazy in how he methodically prepared is of filming and how he maintained the Joker's psyche during filming prior to production Leger checked into a motel and isolated himself for an entire six weeks he never left he stayed in the room meticulously designing the Joker's voice and laugh not wanting to mimic Jack Nicholson's version of the Joker Ledger based his character off of Alex de large from a Clockwork Orange the signature quick lip licking motion was a tick created because Leger had to keep his mouth moist to keep up a Joker's voice Leger was also known to show up in full costume on the days he wasn't even filming Heath Ledger's intense dedication for all his roles will never be forgotten look how pink so Natalie Portman few actors in the world portray characters which leave them fearing for their lives in real life Natalie Portman is one such actor and shortly after her famed role in the 2009 film Black Swan revealed the harrowing schedule she endured which left her fearing she would die for the role of a desperately ambitious perfectionist dancer she had to lose 20 pounds are you saying in your head she only lost 20 pounds plenty of other actors have lost way more well you're absolutely correct however and this is a big however Portman was already a very slender woman to top it off she was eating barely anything and spending eight hours a day in ballet rehearsals her meals consisted of eating little more than carrots and almonds Portman would go to bed at night literally thinking she was going to die she was beyond emotionally and physically drained this was the first time in her life she understood how an actor could get so wrapped up in a role it could take her down luckily Portman was narrowly able to make it through and watched her film on the big screen so many actors have never made it and this worried her it sounds a lot more complicated than it is um Hilary Swank Hilary Swank won Best Actress for her portrayal in the film boys don't cry her dramatic transformation from a teen cutie into a man happened long before any director uttered the words action this film went on to critical and box-office success but even with all this and even winning swag gold Chris Anna T and life was threatened the character Swank portrayed was a young the brass named Tina Brandon Brandon with dresses a guy and went by the name of Brandon in 1993 Brandon was killed by friends who discovered their secret for Swank she wanted to understand the character on an intimate level she did everything she could to live her life like Brandon swank changed her lifestyle to live as a man she was able to experience firsthand how her character was treated she witnessed how uneasy people became when confronted with someone who walks talks and acts like a man but has a feminine aura a few weeks into filming she found herself more confused than ever she felt incapable of shaking her testosterone charged side and as though every ounce of her femininity was gone it took over a year to recover before she began to feel like herself again Swank said she once again felt free to hit the salons and Donna skirt muscala a little bit that's what we got though I bet 50 cent 50 cent was a massive commercial success straight out of the gate his debut album not only sold nine million units but was also produced by Eminem and dr. Dre he took the world by storm with his gritty singles wank step and into club they were underpinned with strong hooks and eventually turned them into crossover pop hits his personal appearance was shockingly delightful his hulking muscles were covered in tattoos and he walked around in a bulletproof vest toting a gun it was that sort of stage presence in persona which easily landed him in the acting world he's had a modest acting career with not much notoriety most of his films are quick one-offs with little substance so why is he on this list well little do fans know but 50 cent is actually an extremely dedicated and brilliant actor in the 2011 film All Things Fall Apart 50 plays an American football player diagnosed with cancer 50 inspired by his friend dying with cancer dropped 54 pounds from 214 to 160 pounds in nine weeks he also spent months with cancer patients and underwent procedures to have his tattoos removed if there weren't so much controversy surrounding 50 audiences would have appreciated his role and he'd been a contender for Best Actor at the Oscars anyway when I apply for was from a mere - okay I should patch it up okay Tom Holland actors do a lot of crazy different things to prepare for roles but out of every single actor on this list none of them compared to what Tom Holland did in his preparation for the 2017 release of spider-man homecoming what he did is the toughest bravest act any person could ever have done not just in preparation for a role but in life Holland went back to high school that's right people Holland enrolled in a New York high school based in the Bronx he wanted to have the American experience in order to portray the character properly he created a fake name and developed a fake accent hey i'm peter tony way this style of teaching environment is a far cry from the schooling he received in london there you have to wear a suit and tie and it was an all-boys school this meant while attending school he was in co-ed classes and it was the first time he had been in a class with girls we sure hope all he's out there web slinging criminals and saving the world he makes time to finish his homework you don't want to set a bad example now do ya did you run right yes I guess ooh hi oh yeah I was scared yeah you're done all right which one of these actors do you enjoy the most have you ever taken an acting role to a level like this let us know in the comment section below and don't forget to subscribe and share this video oh yeah and here's the answer to the emoji quiz did you get it right let us know what you thought it was thank you for watching [Music]
