Paul Osteen started the series last week and he did an amazing jobs just laid such a great foundation and so if you missed that you can go back through Facebook or through Lakewood Church and watch that and get caught up on that but I'm going to talk about chapter 2 first Timothy 2 so you can turn there we're going to read together and I'm going to read it to you and then we're going to study the chapter remember as my brother Paul said that the Apostle Paul is the one who wrote the book of first Timothy and it was a letter to Timothy his son in the faith and so let's just begin because he covers a lot of things and I can't cover every little thing which there was so much to cover but I am gonna cover three major aspects so we're gonna start with verse 1 Paul said this I urge then first of all that petitions prayers intercession and Thanksgiving be made for all people for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness this is good and pleases God our Savior who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth for there is one God and one mediator between God and man kind the man Jesus Christ and he gave himself as a ransom for all people I love how the gospel includes all did you see how many times we read the word all the gospel always includes all it is not exclusive and it goes on to say this has now been witnessed - at the proper time and for this purpose I was appointed a Herald and an apostle I am telling the truth I am not lying I love that I love that line and it and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles therefore I want every I'm sorry therefore I want the men ever we're to pray lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing I also want the women to dress modestly with decency and propriety propriety adorning themselves not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes but with good deeds appropriate for women who profess to worship God a woman get ready for this woman a woman should learn in quietness and full submission I do not permit we're gonna tackle that I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man she must be quiet for Adam was formed first then Eve and Adam was not the one deceived it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner but women will be saved through childbearing if they continue in faith love and holiness with propriety okay I have broken this chapter down into three main topics you see it there on your outline prayer for others the attitude of the heart and women in ministry and so let's just start out with the first topic it's so rich in in prayer we can teach the whole the whole time on prayer but we're not going to but anyway Paul begins by saying that it pleases God when we pray for others you see we're supposed to bring our prayers and our petitions and our needs and our wants to God but we are to make it a practice also to pray for other people and this is a powerful way that you can impact the lives of those around you you can impact your own own family members and your friends and co-workers because when we pray for other people it gets it really gets our attention off of ourselves and it opens up a whole new realm of purpose and ministry for you you want a ministry start praying for other people because prayer is powerful when we intercede on behalf of others we are helping those people we are coming to their aid because prayer makes a difference when you pray for a person you create a path for God to get their attention and begin to work in their lives if you have a child that is away from God there are someone that you're believing God for every time you pray you're creating a path for God to intervene in their life in fact that word supplication is used in some of the translations I think it chant it's changed sometimes to intercession but that word supplication intercession actually means intervention some people we know need an intervention from God don't they and so through prayer you call on God to intervene in a person's life and bring that person in line to the will of God in that powerful when you think about it and Paul said this he said it is God's will that all men be saved and that all people come to a knowledge of the truth and then he just states with the truth is he's going to be clear about the truth the truth is there is one God and there is one mediator between God and mankind and that is the man Jesus Christ who gave himself as a ransom for all people there it is again for all people and so the gospel is not exclusive it is for all Jesus died for all because he loves all he loves all people John 3:16 says for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life listen whoever believes in him there is nothing right now that is keeping you from coming to God the only thing that is keeping you is from just not believing in Jesus not accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior there is nothing no sin no past no history that can keep you from having this wonderful relationship with God all you need to do is be one of those whosoever wills be one that says Jesus I believe that you're my Lord and Savior I ask you to forgive my sins I want to be in a relationship with you and so that's what the gospel is all about right there amen but I love the fact and I just want to camp on this a minute that the gospel and God is there is not exclusive did you ever notice how many religions are exclusive even churches are some churches are exclusive I'm not saying all of them but you can't even be a part of their religion unless you you know obey all their rules in their laws and are you know you can't even be a part of their church if you don't obey their rules and dress a certain way it's not Bible laws it's it's man-made laws and so it's a reminder to never get Jesus mixed up with religion you see Jesus came to this earth as God and his men he was crucified on the cross he was raised from the dead not so we could be religious but that everyone could have a personal relationship with God the Father that's the whole purpose of the gospel and that's what it's all about and so God wants all people God wants us to pray for people because he desires for all people to come into the truth of the gospel think about the Apostle Paul I just thought about this how you remember when God got ahold of him on the road to this Damascus do you remember what he said he said I've arrested you I've stopped you because I want to make you into an apostle now I'm gonna send you to the kings of the earth you see God is even interested in our leaders and the kings the queens the president the the governing leaders of this world and so he desires all men to be saved and so that's why it's so important that we begin to pray for others now who can you pray for because sometimes have you ever sat down to say I'm gonna pray for awhile and you can't pray more than three minutes you know well I you know you and this respect you know you can there are really many things you can pray for and I just listed some of the things you can course pray for your mate and your in your marriage and your family and your children you know and also I just encourage you to start praying for your extended family your aunts and uncles your cousins you know and people that maybe you don't see a whole lot because I believe that God puts you in the family and the family for such a time as this to bring all of your family into the kingdom of God and even if you can't be around them you can pray for them that God would send laborers into their path amen I think about my own daddy even you know as he got older he just was so set on getting in touch with all of his family members because he wanted to make sure he felt like this is my mission this is my purpose I want all of my family members to hear the gospel and accept Jesus and so he would he would travel to see them in his old hometown or in California where his brother lived and and he would write them he would send them book sometimes he would send them money just to bless them but he was determined that everyone and his family heard the gospel you know when he got saved he has his first convert was his sister Mary and then eventually all his mother came in and his dad was hard to reach but he eventually came in but you know then there was a time when he received the baptism in the Holy Spirit that there was a little distance with his family because they didn't understand what he had gotten into but you know what my dad didn't let that stop him he decided I'm gonna reach my family that's my mission field and so pray for your extended family that God will work in their lives and then of course you can pray for your neighbors and your coworkers amen I believe with all my heart it is no accident that God put these people in your life and they are a part of your mission field you may not know all your neighbors but you can pray that God will use you in some way to bless your neighbors or he would blink bring those neighbors across your path so that you could witness to them or encourage them or pray with them but but you know that he would cause you to meet with the right people at the right time but your friends and co-workers are another mission field that you begin to begin to pray for as you begin to pray God will soften their heart and they'll begin to maybe come around and ask you questions you also can pray for your government leaders and the Apostle Paul mentions this for for for the purpose that we will have a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness we need to pray for our leader so we we're not called to agree with them I know we don't always agree with our leaders but we can pray for them and whether we like them or not we should pray for them because we want to live peaceful and godly lives and we can pray that God will raise up godly leaders and that he wouldn't move in their hearts and that that God you know the Bible says he moves the heart of the king and we can pray and that God would move the heart of our our leaders and that they would act in a way that is pleasing to God and make laws and and judgments that are in a way that are pleasing to God so we should pray for our government leaders and then we should pray for our pastors and their families I love it when people tell me that you know they're praying for me and my family and and it's just such a blessing because we need it we go through things just like you do and we need that prayer and and we'd love to reciprocate that we'd love to pray for you all and we pray for y'all all the time but you can pray for your pastors and your leaders and and then this is a hard one but you got to pray for your enemies also you can sit home and grumble about them curse them under your breath or you can do what Jesus said and start saying bless and father helping to come to the knowledge of the truth help them to show mercy and in let God vindicate you because God will always vindicate you when you have a right heart and a right attitude and then lastly I just want to mention pray for the people God puts on your heart because he will do this a Holy Spirit will bring someone to your spirit to your mind and and you'll wonder why you're thinking about them and it's for the purpose that God wants you to pray for them maybe he wants you to encourage them pick up the phone and encourage them but pray for those people you know I can remember that God put it on my heart to pray for our landscape man this was years ago probably about 15 years ago and he was a young family man had young children always nice to us and then all but all of a sudden he would just come to my spirit and and I would I knew God wanted me to pray for him so I began to pray that he would accept Jesus if he didn't know Jesus that God would encourage him give him wisdom and I just did that off and on every time it came to my spirit I began I would pray for him well a few months after that he called my husband and he said hey I need to talk to you but it's about something personal and so my we had no idea what he wanted to talk about but Kevin sat down with him and he began to weep in front of him and he said I need your help whatever it is you have I want what you have he said I need God in my life isn't that amazing he accepted Jesus right then you say gay men God was reaching out to that man and when I began to pray it caused him to have an intersection or an intervention with God listen never underestimate the power of prayer in your life amen how can you pray for others I don't want to spend a lot of time on this but it's I wrote it in the outline pray that they'd come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ pray that people will live in line with God's will and purpose you can pray for wisdom in their life in all areas of their life you can pray that they would be delivered from any bondages in their life any addictions that God would send laborers into their lives to witness to them to to love on them and to share the gospel with them and pray the word of God over them I mean get a specific word that pertains to them and and just declare that word and pray the word of God over them and then I love that the Bible always talks about praying when you pray do it with Thanksgiving so always let your don't let your petitions outweigh your praises amen but thank God for the privilege of prayer thank God that you know that he's bigger than anything that they are facing that you're praying about it and that we have so much to be grateful for and God always wants us to bring prayer with a spirit of gratefulness and a spirit of Thanksgiving so that's prayer 15 minutes on prayer now we're going to do about five minutes on the next one the attitude of the heart and this really has to do with prayer but I wanted to make it a different subject I'm going to read verses 8 and 10 again but I'm going to read it out of the passion Bible this time therefore I encourage the men to pray on every occasion with hands lifted to God and worse with clean hearts free from frustration or strife and that the women would also pray with clean hearts dressed appropriately and adorned modestly and sensibly not flaunting their wealth or expensive clothes but they should be recognized instead for their beautiful deeds of kindness suitable as one who worships God it's good innit so I understand from this what counts to God is the condition of the heart it's not all what's on the outside you can hide a lot of what's on the inside but Paul cautions the men he said when you lift up your hands to God make sure their holy hands make sure you're clean and you have a clean heart that you're free from strife you're free from anger you're free from frustration and curling see guard your heart and keep the right attitude men that's what he says to them in and then he said women he said adorn yourself with what is most important and that is doing works of service acts of service in other words don't just emphasize your physical appearance emphasize what really counts the inner attitudes of the heart can I have an amen first Peter 334 puts it this way for women rather it should be that of your inner self a inner self it should be that of your inner self the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is of great worth in God's sight and you know when it says quiet there some some people think well that means you're to shut up not be heard never speak but it's important to note that the word quiet in Greek also translates as peaceful and tranquil God wants you to have a peaceful and a tranquil spirit it the Bible is not telling women that they can't talk or they are not of importance which someone would like to take that scripture and you know take it out on women and we have to be careful about that studies showed that there is evidence in the literature and the culture of this day when this was written that they connected the behavior of women with the way they dressed it was believed that the more a woman wore attractive clothes and elaborate jewelry the more she lived a loose sexual life and the less she submitted to her husband so that was considered that is one reason they said that I don't believe this passage in any way means that we should not dress up or wear beautiful clothes and especially not wear makeup man you don't want to see us without makeup but I do believe Paul is emphasizing culture differences are not policy emphasizing the fact that inner beauty is what counts and having peace in your heart having a beautiful attitude a gentle spirit is what is truly attractive and you'll you'll find quickly that it's a very empty and shallow life to live only with emphasis on your outward appearance that's a very empty and shallow way to live you can dress up a bad attitude and it's still bad you can dress yourself up and go out but the minute you open your mouth and all that junk comes out it's not hidden you see what's inside is just as important oh I should say that's what's inside is more important that what's then what's on the outside amen what's inside always outshines what's on the outside and so another scripture in speaking to women in Proverbs 31 25 the Bible says to clothe yourself with strength and dignity I like that see the Bible mentions women in the Bible that were very beautiful I think about Sarah Abigail and Esther but what you really remember about them is the inner beauty that they had they had a faith they had a courage a courageous spirit they had a boldness about them and it set them apart from other women from other beautiful women and so that's the way we want to be women we're and men and women we all want to be able to pray and lift up holy hands with the right attitude with a with a kind spirit and with a gentle heart amen with a clean heart I like how the Bible says with a clean heart so let's go on to number three are y'all getting this with me is it helping you son all right the third thing he addresses is women in ministry say Amen I love teaching on this you know to take the truth I've never struggled with with this scripture or anything because thank God I had mom and dad who just believed that God can use anybody and will use anybody and that he my dad recognized the call of God upon my life and when I I didn't even recognize it you know he would say Lisa you can preach I see it in you you can preach you know and so I thank God for that and I know there is you know there is a struggle and a wrestling you know about this scripture and some people don't think women should teach or even speak in the church and and so you know when when even though I don't struggle with this I know others do and I and I thought well you know what I got to get really serious I know what the Bible says but I really want to know and I won't really want to understand it so we can we can see it clearly in the word but when you look at this passage we have to consider two things culture and context once you say those with me culture and context we have to view any subject as a whole with what the rest of the Bible says you know you can take one scripture and make a doctrine out of it if you want to some people take the verse that we just read about women dressing modestly and they literally say women can't dress up they can't look nice they can't wear makeup and thinks and if that's you that's fine you don't have to wear makeup I'm just saying that's not really what the Bible's saying you could take a scripture and you met you can you can elaborate on it and see and so and you know think about this if you only read what Paul said here about women and childbearing and Eve you could think that God still blames Eve for the sin did you notice that when we read that it was Eve that sinned and done it out he spoke the truth it was Eve that was deceived it was Eve that sinned and then Adam sinned with her but we also know when you look at the balance of the whole scripture that Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law and that that sin that sin that Adam and Eve brought upon us he redeemed us from that and so we know also that God holds Adam just as accountable as he does Eve you know the Scriptures he when the Bible says in Romans 5:12 therefore just as sin entered the world through one man Adam and death through his sin and in this way death came to all people because all sin and so you do you see what I'm talking about with context and looking at the scripture as a whole another example I'll just give you is we know God wants to bless us financially we know he wants us to have abundance that he wants to give us favor and but if we're not careful that's all we'll talk about give because God wants to bless you give to get God just wants to prosper you and it all becomes about just giving to get and prospering but no you have to look at the balance of the scripture the scripture says we're to give because we put God first in our lives we do it because the tithe is holy unto God and if he never blessed us we should have an obedient heart to do it because we want to honor God with our life amen and so so some things can get out of balance in that way and so I I say all that to say that my point is that you have to weigh Scripture with Scripture and also consider the culture so let's look at that scripture again a woman should learn in quietness and full submission I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man she must be quiet the word quiet is also translated in other scriptures the same word as peaceable I got that through my study it's talking about having a quiet a tranquil a peaceable spirit and so I have actually included the Greek translation so that you can see it for yourself will you look at it with me I'm not going to pronounce the word but anyway you said it you it means quiet stillness quietness implying calm for the believer God produced calm which includes an inner inner tranquility that supports appropriate action look at the next thing this term does not mean speechlessness do you get that and that's what you would think that he's saying you cannot talk in the in the church and so Paul is not saying that women can never speak in the church let's consider the culture and why Paul may have addressed this issue one of the cultural differences is that women teaching men in their day would be considered as taking authority from the men it was and will I explain that why later in our culture I don't think we think that way I don't think you think that when I stand up here and teach that I am taking authority from you in fact I don't even want to exercise any kind of authority over you men or women I'm simply fulfilling my duties as an anointed teacher of the Word of God and I hope that you receive from it and do with it what you want amen I have no desire to exercise authority over anyone I'm walking in my colleague so anyway but in that day it was considered as taking authority from a man and you'll see why let's go to the next one churches met in homes and Paul often gave instructions for maintaining order in those meanings it's a little different than what we do meeting in our wonderful churches today then another cultural difference is that that the culture of men and women were totally different than our day women were not treated the same as men they were considered second-class citizens we still see this in some nations today don't we all nations have their own cultures some are more legalistic in areas on top of that some religions have their own man-made beliefs about women and rules that are to be obeyed but I think about this when when Jesus was on this earth it was the culture of that day according to the religious law to stone a woman who was caught an adult and remember when they brought that woman to him and threw her down at his feet and said Jesus she was caught in adultery the law says a STONER what do you say now that's amazing because jesus answered them and and he said to them I love this because Jesus really didn't give in to their religious thinking I think he came to show us that that he wanted to free us from the law of sin and death but he said to them if you're without sin you cast the first stone and so one by one they began to live leave and he lifted her up and he said where are your accusers she said no one and he said go and sin no more and so he didn't stone her he didn't mistreat her he lifted her and and you know this is another thought I mentioned this before but the religious leaders didn't even bring the man and so he was committing adultery too and so it shows you that it didn't matter for the men the women were considered lesser than the men and so though it was totally inequality when women were generally uneducated and the men were only privileged to be educated women this is this women didn't even receive an inheritance it went to the brothers only and if they had no brothers it went to the uncles or a male they couldn't receive an inheritance number 30 numbers 30 describes that about taken by a man was binding but a vow taken by a woman could be nullified by her father only a husband could initiate a divorce numbers 3:15 shows us that a census counted only male infants over the age of one month and didn't even count the females and so aren't you glad that Jesus came to lift us all into freedom and our purpose and amen so you you see the culture of that day so you have to concern it all so it is very likely that men and women did not sit together in church did you know that I've been in I've been in nations in third-world countries where this has happened it was it was interesting we were in a tent preaching outside and all the men are right here and all the wind right here because they're not considered equal and it was very interesting because I watched I walked in the back one time and as my dad was preaching and I just noticed how these women were struggling with their children and chasing after him and feeding them and taking them out all the men were just sitting there just taking it all in they didn't come to the help with their wives it was just a total something that we wouldn't do you know in our in our culture you know we help one another out it's different and so you know but it's okay we just we we didn't come to change their culture we came to preach the gospel to them and we enjoyed it and they received it but anyway I remember another time I just have to tell you this because I thought about it one time I went with my dad I was in my early 20s and I went with him to a country a third world country and actually this man is our good friend to this day but I will not call his name but I'll never forget we we flew into a big city and then we flew into a smaller city and then we took this three-hour van ride at dusty van ride to a village where we were going to preach and so the first thing my dad was sitting in the front next to the the missionary that came to pick us up and he looked at my dad and he said I was in the back he looked at me through the mirror I guess he says your daughter will have to take off her lipstick and I just thought oh my word and stuff and so my dad I'll never forget it I love my dad for this he said well you're why your wife will have to cover her stomach because that offends me my dad was feisty that missionary didn't know what to think about him but we became good friends with him I took off my I took off my lipstick while I was there but I couldn't wait to get it back on because we wanted to honor their culture but you know it can go both ways is what I'm trying to say some theologians agree that because men and women sat separately that the women were possibly asking questions during the meetings in fact scripture shows this and this caused a disruption and you can study this out for yourself I read that it was it it was lawful it was okay to for men to ask questions in a public assembly or even interrupt the speaker but women did not have that privilege and another thing is to have authority translates a Greek verb that means to control or dominate and I think a lot of this passage is about that that not to control or dominate women were not to control or dominate it is suggested that the Greek word for have authority can mean interrupt I've heard many many theologians say this in which case that verse 12 is saying that women should remain quiet and not interrupt or cause confusion during the service so that's a possibility and really it lines up with first Corinthians 4 it's probably going to be on the on the screen but it says women should remain silent or keep one's peace in the churches they are not allowed to speak but must be in submission as the law says if they want to inquire about something they should ask their own husbands at home for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church and so there it is it sort of explains it a little bit a little bit clearer one theologian also said perhaps the largely uneducated women of that day were interrupting procedures with questions that would be better dealt with in their homes their fault was not in asking questions but in choosing the inappropriate a setting for their questions and so that's just something to throw out there at you and seems right and fair but as I said don't take my word for it go study or say you could say that gave you all the scriptures okay so that's the culture of the day totally different than our culture what is the context context of other scriptures let's talk about that what do other scriptures say about women in ministry well we know this he's our example that Jesus treated women with respect and when Jesus walked the earth you never see him dominate a woman mistreat a woman or be ugly to a woman he didn't avoid women he didn't treat them as second-class citizens in fact he showed great respect for women and children remember the disciples said get the children out of here Jesus thought everybody was important and so we see that and remember we talked about this when I thought last time Jesus is Emmanuel God with us he shows us what God the Father is really like and God the Father is it thinks everybody is important and valuable you see Jesus in the Gospels lifting women promoting women he had 12 disciples who were only men and they are symbolic of the 12 tribes of Israel but Jesus also had many women who followed him and who supported him and that is in the work of the ministry you remember when Jesus talked to the woman at the well and he said you know you've had what is it six husbands and our five husbands and the one you have is not even your own and he sort of read her mail and and she was just transformed I'll never forget my dad used to say she was the first woman preacher in the Bible because and I and I think it's true because when she left Jesus you read the scripture it says she can't went out among the Samaritans that she began to proclaim come see a man who told me everything I've done could he be the Messiah and the Bible says that many of the Samaritans in her city believed G in Jesus because of this of what this woman proclaimed so I think she was the first woman preacher Jesus let her loose okay the second thing what we see in Scripture about women is that Paul himself mentioned many women who held influential positions of leadership in the early church and so we have to weigh that this is another reason we had to see that maybe Paul was not addressing women who were in the ministry but rather those in the congregation who were out of order some of the women he mentioned in the other scriptures that we don't talk about a lot Phoebe was a Deaconess in a church and Paul asked the believers in her city to assist her in the work of her ministry it would be strange to think Phoebe fulfilled her duties without ever speaking in the church wouldn't it Priscilla Priscilla and her husband Aquila are often mentioned with great respect by Paul as his co-workers in Christ it is believed that they pastored a church in Ephesus and were responsible for teaching the full gospel to Apollo's it says they explained the word more accurately evidently they were both teachers of the Word of God and so in fact many times if you read in the scripture Priscilla is mentioned before Aquila her husband and I just think that says something about her paul also commends two women and I'm not gonna try to pronounce her name but he said they're co-workers for the cause of the gospel in Romans 16 7 listen to this Paul said greet at Andrew knock Andronicus I can't say that in jr. that is a woman's name my fellow Jews who have been in prison with me women were in prison with him they were outstanding among the Apostles and they were in Christ before I was I don't think you would be in prison for Jesus if you didn't speak about him so another scripture to look at this makes sense doesn't it another scripture to look at is 1st Corinthians 11:2 through 5 it says Paul was talking about women who were prayed and prophesied in the church and he said this he said I praise you for remembering me and everything and for holding on to the traditions just that I have passed unto you verse for every man who prays are prophesized with his head covered dishonoureth head but every woman who prays are prophesied with her head uncovered dishonours her head it is the same as having her head shaved so evidently that was a tradition of that day a tradition that we in the United States don't follow some people do still follow that tradition but there's two things here it was a tradition and in number two it showed that women did speak in the church they were prophetess as they prophesied they prayed in the church and so it goes on to say in fact that women the men should not have long hair and women should not shave their hair should not be short but then you see Jesus and all the pictures long hair I don't know when that changed you know but all I'm saying is a lot of these were cultural traditions okay there were other women throughout the Bible and positions of leadership such as the prophetess Deborah do you remember her she was a judge and a prophetess and she was brave and courageous not to mention Esther Rahab who is a harlot but Rahab is actually mentioned in the Hall of faith and Hebrews 11 and then the scripture we all know Peter proclaimed in acts 2 and it was in Isaiah 2 in the last days God said I will pour out my spirit on who all people and your sons and your daughters will prophesy your young men will see visions your old men will dream dreams even on my servants both men and women I will pour out my spirit in those days and they will prophesy and another translation or they will speak forth they men so and we know this is another thing I thought about on the day of Pentecost when women were present and when the Holy Spirit came in and they began to speak in town women were speaking in the church they were speaking in tongues in that gathering the Bible also mentions a prophetess who is in the temple when Jesus was being brought there to be dedicated and her name was Ana do you know about Ana and Ana was one of the two people who recognized Jesus as the Messiah because of her sensibility to the Holy Spirit and so we see that God used women as well as men we need both the men and the women God anoints men and women amen and we have to understand that there were cultural differences that we don't always need to bring into our own cultures if Paul believed that all women should never teach or speak in the church then why did he commend these many women who did just that so that's the thing we have to weigh not to mention the fact that the Bible says we're new creatures in Christ Jesus and that we are joint heirs with Jesus amen that we're co-laborers with Jesus and there is no male or female there's no Jew or Gentile in the body of Christ and so we are all one in Christ and so so many of these things are a matter of cultural rules and not a matter of sin and not of a matter of disobeying God now I do believe that it we should always respect those over us and those in authority as I said I teach tonight with the permission of my husband he doesn't feel like I'm exercising authority over him and he needs some preaching in his life and then and then I and then I also have just kidding oh he's not watching I don't think if you are I'm sorry and then you know I preach under the authority of my brother Joel who is my pastor also and I have his full permission and I take no authority from them either one of them and so I I just desire to bless you and it just reminds me you know that the enemy has come since the since the fall of man to degrade women to keep them down and to keep them from fulfilling their purpose and even if we're not careful he'll try to use the scripture to keep women from doing all that God called them to do we and let me tell you I'm not just exalting women we need the men amen thank God for our men you know I honor Kevin is a head of our home but you know the fact is he treats me as Christ loves the church he doesn't control me he doesn't manipulate me we make decisions together you know we love each other we honor each other we respect each other because that's how Jesus is with the church and so I submit to him as my husband and yet we're co-laborers together you know and that's the way it should be I submit my brother is a leader of this church and and so there is that submitting of authority that is so important and I don't ever want to make light of it but I just want to make the point that when a woman teaches it doesn't mean she's taking authority from a man or she's not submitting to Authority or she's not not respectful of the authority and you know in closing I just want to say I did good it's only 8:14 that's a lot I told I told my assistant that's a lot to cover in 45 minutes but let's thank God in closing for all the women in ministry whether they are recognized or not amen I think you know it's really interesting it's really interesting that women can go be missionaries but they can't be called ministers you know our women can teach in Sunday school but they're not good enough to teach in the main church you see how the enemy is tried to put people down but let me tell you something there there are women all over the world as missionaries and we honor you tonight there are women that are preaching and teaching that's right they're pastors I know women preachers not only in the US but in other nations and you're working hard for the Lord and we recognize you tonight and we elevate you tonight and we say be encouraged and never quit doing what God has called you to do and I Amen and I say I say to the women that you feel like you've been pushed down this and now is the time to rise up and be who God called you to be don't let the enemy keep you down God has a plan and a purpose for you and the last thing I want to say well I'm just on a roll let's thank God for people like Joyce Meyer who has given their life people like Marilyn Hickey and Jimenez I could go on and on there are so Beth more such a mighty woman of God he's taught the Word of God thank God for these women and that they didn't let the enemy keep them quiet amen but let me tell you I say it one more time hooray for men - amen we love you man god bless you another big hand clap that was awesome that was awesome well let's close out in prayer father we just thank you so much for your word tonight we thank you Lord that you raise up men and women to be ministers of your Gospels and we thank you Lord just as Pastor Lisa taught us tonight that we are equal in you we thank you Lord for that freedom and we thank you Lord for the word Lord that we heard tonight let it go deep in our heart let it grow up and that it would renew our minds and transform our lives just as it should in Jesus name Amen amen hey real quick next week pastor Jeremy will
