04-06 Chevy Silverado Cateye Prime work

hey what's going on guys in this video we're going to take a look at the preparation it took to get this bad boy ready for a vinyl wrap now originally the owner wanted to paint this truck but however he decided that he was going to do a wrap himself nonetheless we had to get the body straight as best we could uh this was like an 04 silver Auto cat eye very beautiful truck uh but it did have a lot of dings uh a lot of dents here and there the inner bed structure was cut out at some point so both bed panels were really flimsy the roof had deteriorating paint clear coat some Rust as well as the hood so that had to be stripped down treated and prepped as well uh he wanted to do a Crespo wing on the bed so we went ahead and fiberglassed that in moted it in to where it looked like one uniform [Music] piece [Music] after the creso wing was fitted into place and moted in using fiberglass it was time to move on to the rest of the dents and dings on the body that needed to be addressed and then it was time to get this bad boy ready for primer [Music] oh after masking the truck and wiping it down it was time to put a couple of coats of high build urethane sandable primer on this thing so we can get it ready for the vinyl [Music] wrap [Music] n [Music] I use my primer gun with the 1.7 mm tip to apply a couple of good wet coats of the high Build primer over the entire truck especially on the areas that had bodyw work done after the truck was primed it was time to address the bed there was some Rust area so I used my angle grinder to strip those down to Bare Metal after that I used my big grinder with a nylon cup to prep the entire bed for bed liner now I use the Raptor liner DIY kit I've tended to have lot of good luck with that stuff it's pretty easy to spray I really like it the texture is really nice I really like the the final product so I've been using that for a while now and I'm going to stick to using that until I find a better product but after that the truck was put into the booth mased up wiped down and it was time to spray in the bed [Music] liner [Music] once the bedliner was done the truck was ready to go uh the truck came out really good I was super happy with the final product I really wish I would have been able to slep some paint on it but for now the customer decided he was going to do his own viny wrap on it either way I was super stoked with the way it turned out that's going to be it for this guys I'm glad y'all tune in until the very end if you haven't subscribed to my channel yet please do so hit that like button for me drop a comment down below share this video with your friends and as always guys see yall next [Music] time
