(001) How To: Make a Key From a Lock

what's up everybody today I'll show you how to make a key for a lock that you have access to the core meaning you can remove it that you don't have a key for and you would like one and that you do not want to repin it or add a sixth pin it would work the same way but currently only have depth keys for a five pin so I will make it for a five pin lock so what you'll need is a set of depth keys a key machine of course which you can find a fairly cheap or you could just take the the numbers down that you've written from decoding to a locksmith and have one made those key blanks piece of paper pen whatever else and of course you will have to have picked these because you need access to remove the plug from the Bible here so in the core so what you'll need to do is already took the c-clip off and get this ready to make this video as short as possible so what you want to do is first of all remove this plug from this or here so and thank you mister Bosnian bill from supplying me with these plugs ours they are awesome so let's remove this bad boy okay okay so now you want to see of course there's only five pins being used and you want to take your pin paper and then write down one through five now of course if you're doing it with the six then you would write one through six so one two three four five and then what we're going to do is one by one insert these DEP keys into this plug and write down what or or one number is set to each pin so start with one so this is one insert it in as you can see that none of them are cut to 1 or pin lengths are not 2 to 1 so to remove that will go to to make sure it's a - ok none of them are - to go to 3 insert it in okay now you can see that the pin in position four is completely flush with the plug is what you want so it breaks that sure line yeah make sure it's set in all the way I give them a good push down to just a mega make sure okay so then you take your paper pull for you write down the number three okay and you pull it out get your next def key which would be for insert that and as you can see that pin position three is flush now so then you'd write down four in the three position remove it I'd be careful not to shoot the Pens across the room which I've done numerous times they're very fun to find again in your next key would be a five insert it in now you can see that we have two cuts that are out of five one and five so you remove it right down to 5 and a 5 ok now you find key 6 insert it in okay and the last one of course we have is in in position two and it sticks up a little bit so you know that's not six go to seven and it sits flush so you know it's pin in position two is cut to a seven will be cut to a seven so there you go so now what you could do you know losing your pins you can either pin them out in your tray or whatever or just reinsert it back into the core like that and then put the c-clip back on so now we got our code now what you could do you can change these pins around if you want to put the three in the five position in the seven in the four position to give it a little bit more challenge to get around that to make it more difficult to pick you know that's now's the time to do it so let's go ahead and go to the key machine and cut this out with the bushing or blanks here or one key in our blank mr. Bosnian bill had a great video on poor man's key code cutting link his video below take a look subscribe to him great great mentor great teacher and we'll be back ok I apologize for the orientation of the video but right now let's just a big mess in my shop here so ok so what I decided to do is I'm going to change couple pinning things around you can read that are you I'm going to go to the bottom top one this way it was from the factory I'm going to change up the last two the two long of course actually all of them apologize but so what you want to do mine's already been calibrated and go to the lowest cut the lowest cut of course is a three so we're going to cut every position into a three position so you want a little bit do your machine get your blank here shirts set right sure I am on a three I do this 50 million times so we're going to cut everyone to a three okay them are cut to a three next to the four and them all to a four reset them now I want to see which one is a four and that's positioned too so we're just going to cut position to to a four okay we're going to cut positions one and three to a five let's pull out a 5 here and our last position for two a seven all right maybe all right here's what our new key looks like let's go try it out okay back in here we're going to try this out so what I did is I I notice I did cut a little bit too deep right here when I cut that last number seven right here so I don't think it'll mess with the operation of it at all but I'll definitely try it but now we got a I did change the pinning like I said so we need to of course match the pins with the way I cut the key otherwise of course it won't work all right so let's put them in here according to which way I did it so first one of course is five which state of five that back in there is seven put here three whoops put that in a row on three but at the end there and then two we have a four which is this one and another five now the moment of truth start it looks good put this back in what's going on here let me talk about the key that make a little easier okay plug is locked there you go now you can put your log back together put your waivers on I don't have any extras I do but I don't know where they're at right now okay all right I know you're really not supposed to I mean you do what you want but lock it with the screw in but I already checked it does work well there you go and that's how you make a key from a walk that you don't have a key to and I just want to thanks for watching and have fun and stay legal
