hi this is for anybody that's a good starter they're 3.8 Chevy Impala when it's cold but when it's warm or hot it won't start the problem according to what what I seen online is the fuel pressure regulator valve alright I looked all over I couldn't find one for 3.8 GM 3.8 that is a 2000 and I want to just help somebody out when I've started off with is I got the o-ring remover as an o-ring on that particular part but when I bought this om tire whatever it is these little holes here are too fat to fit it to my o-ring so I'm gonna have to get creative one of the main things you got to do is you're going to start the collar up car up you're going to remove the fuel relay right over here it'll be listed over here you can remove that but not right away start the car up once the car is running you're going to remove that when the car stalls out that means it's going to be less fuel in your fuel regulator valve okay so that's one of the first things you have ring remover that I got these little tips were too thick I couldn't fit into this o-ring to remove it so what I did was adapt improvise overcome I went over here on my sidewalk as you can see the scratches and I just filed it down and good to go I'm able to use this on my own okay what I'm going to do now is start the car up let it run for a little bit I want it you want to start your car off cool you don't want it you want it to have to be cold so the engine side that I start it up I'm going to remove the fuel relay pump and pump relay and then that's gonna cut off and they should be a limited amount of fuel and my little regulator here okay so let me just start it up now we just had an example of the problem I had it took me like two three tries and started up because the engine was warm now I'm going to pull out my relay my fuel pump relay right here bad boy stall that that's perfect that's where I expected now I'm going to try to remove this part here see is my old ring alright I remove this vacuum connector now I'm going to attempt to move the part out as you see I have a lot of of paper towels here too just in case we don't want fuel laying around his car it's not a good thing all right well there's a little bit of fuel not too much now here's a part that I'm going to be replacing all right part of the part is some whenever you take this out there's always pieces that remain okay remember that so you're not done - you going there with a screwdriver let me put my old ring over here here's the o-ring that came out is my old part and I'm going to fish around for some other parts that have to come out it's an old ring and some more parts in here that's got to come out oh boy this is dirty you know we this car is 15 years old so alright it's another part coming out and you get these guys out and I believe there's another little o-ring in here somewhere I guess that's it for the part I expected to see a little small ol ring but uh all right let me get my new part and we'll try to replace it but as we took it out trying to fish out there's a small Oh ring at the bottom here that's kind of way at the bottom you want to get this little tiny old ring out and I'm not having luck with it let me see if I can fish it out with something else okay this is what I want to show you see this little tiny o-ring don't when you're doing this make sure you get that part out the tip-off is when you got the new part you see the little tiny old ring at the end there okay so that's your tip off so you don't forget that there's a little smaller ring it has to go on there okay so now I'm kind of going to I'm going to reverse what I did before and I'm going to put my part in okay let's see if it fits she's fit nice get her in there tight okay I'm gonna get my my c-clip in there get my new ring clip wherever this is my new ring clip won't rush put a new one in there it's it's a this kind of a lot of leakage with the gas even though I remove the fuel pump regulator but let's see what I can do here so break it snapped us in trying to get it flat so I can get that clip in there it looks like it's not going to be that easy let's see what to do to get that o-ring in I would say like ten minutes you know wrestle with it push it down I really didn't have the proper tool so hopefully you'll have the right snap ring tool alright I'm going to plug in my vacuum tube right here and let me just remove my my gasoline-soaked not too badly so paper towels this guy outta here and good thing about gas it dries up quickly when I ordered this part this came with it so I goes in here I guess to help it I guess it helps holding that snap look take the guy out again all right that didn't go into smooth if they get this guy out all right then you get stuck on the easiest part of this whole deal anyway you might want to set aside a hair for now to get this done it's a pretty easy um fix let me just put that over there this comes with it alright put that guy back on ah make sure it's snug all right I gotta put my put my relay pump back in again my pump relay brother okay and that's in there putting a cover back on alright now I don't expect it to get fixed right away I understand it takes a while for the computer to sync up with this new part so uh take care and uh good luck I hope I hope this helps you out
