*** FOX RAGE TV *** PERCH ON JIG AND DROPSHOT TACTICS

[Music] hi I'm Jason stuffs Fox Ridge consultant you join me today to try and catch a perch from one of many northern canals that I fish around here primarily tax I'm gonna be using today is going to be drop shot jigs and really what everything whatever works really perch this time of year can be quite widespread chasing the shoals around so complicated trying to find I'm fishing obvious places the locks sluice gates some slots if I can find them and hopefully I'll find the little they're gonna work the best and put some fish on the camera for you now today's a big weather change from that off into the past couple of days it's been blazing hot real sunshine bright skies today it's quite dull and which could work in out there because the water is actually quite clear compared to normal so that's gone with it and hopefully have some fish [Music] before if after that fishing today I'm just going to go through what suckle I use a target perch on the canal I bring two rods with me both of them extremely light got the rock and streets prints Terminator Pro and that's matched and balanced with the prism c1000 real switch light setup obviously I've tried to keep my bridge as soon as possible so I use the prism thirteen pound braid match that with the five pound drop and jig flora reason for this is I like to keep it as thin as possible the canals aren't fishing a fairly deep I need to keep them braids bring them on as soon as possible to cut through the water so I maximize sensitivity and the next one are high use is the semolina product which in jig matched with the two and a half thousand and I'll use this slightly heavier still the thirteen pound braid on I'm a seven pound flow of this time and the reason for that is that with it we need jig it tend to catch snags more off debri the bottom the canal so that's been a little bit extra strength to try and ping it back out oh yeah these rods absolutely perfect for perch dirty to going to heavy early and it's good fun as well and this stuff [Music] that was quick look at the legs I'm gonna be using today and I'll first ones I'll probably try it will be the tittle of us the lovely slim profile of the lobe the thin wrist I just mix up till betta where the wraps would be brilliant for capturing a large fish and the smaller fish so if you want to buy they're absolutely brilliant also I'm using the drop shop fry and the drop drop flies again these in the water probably worked really well stay with it being quite clear the good visuals a little bit of sparkle in the in the tail that I just give it a flush mister mimic the fry that be about with this timing here and then we're going to look at some of the new colors from Fox especially in the spike is now the spiky shards are there are failsafe when it comes to perch fishing absolutely brilliant all sizes work but covered in tiny little spikes all over and these give out lots of vibrations and a good stream of bubbles as well and when you retrieving it quite fast but this new stickleback color is absolutely where it just looks deadly it's available in the thunder pros well lovely sheen on the top the slightly translucent body underneath yeah pretty brilliant and then we've also got some of the new program on the fur Grubbs big profile kelly tail on that is absolutely brilliant especially this clear water as well that I really have to take the perch and hopefully get a bite off them and the new Supernatural colors so realistic another colorful fox as well is the new silver bleak which is available in it in these three layers the spike is the slick shuts and there's under pros but yeah that mimics the fry fish that's going to be around here today at this time of year as well you've got a lot of juveniles around and the perch should be smashing them so these should absolutely deadly today hopefully they'll do the trick the two methods that I'm using today the drop shot on the jig and I'll the reason for this it gives me options of what they're actually wanting today now if they want to do a bit slower I'm gonna be using the drop shot and this allows me to keep the bit in one particular spot for a lot longer it onto chase and the Bissell chair what lurch receives as well probably stick with the tiddler fast stuff like that just give me a lot more movement now if you do want the chase and I probably could hit the jigs just allow me to speed it up and slow down at the same time and if they feeding hard on the bottom as well they don't wanna venture too far the jig should produce the fish so the reason I carry two rods on the canal it gives me more options to help you pull more fish on the back [Music] I've just come to this light like looking spot here there's a lot of bit fish right against these locked doors obviously the predator pushing up against deer so this is a good place to make a start now the bit fish actually are quite big so I might actually even up miler size and match the hatch if it's not sort of say early I think they don't have plans of protecting them if this is what the feeding on it and fast isn't another perch they're just come up in that corner now I'm not sure yet if they want in there a slower slow action or quite erratic I'm sure we'll find out the more we fish through the day keep stopping and changing changing the speeds see what the one hmm areas like this oh just perfect ambush points to purge all the little nooks and crevices Titans will lock doors on the wall took themselves in their swing to ambush any / if that come across them really sometime as well just just lift your lower back up and just put down again really slowly sometimes can entice a type of ticks if the Fisher House is a bit higher up will spot it follow it down sometimes you get the hit on the drop to work welcome in the past mr. trout down this wall here see what's down here Oh yep maybe that fish odd oh it's good fish as well stay indeed looking at form Oh nice fish nice fish nailed the first here we have the first fish in the day absolutely annihilate the tittle of fast good solid hit it's all this one's crush true saw the bit balls just dispersed all over the place dropped into it and this is the result I'm still cracking Canal perch I get bad enough for the first fish be able to know one of my favorite little spots on here as well is this little area here on normally now this was like just like an over spilled sluice from above the lock and the water only rages through it would you can be good to catch tribute hunter your job and it's raging through won't the slackens off a bit like it has now you'll see the perch move in when it's pretty clear you can see him come through and they're basically trap the roach in this area here so there's a good spot to try quite shallow as well in about three foot deep the spot names not hard really okay I've just put a sticker back a mini fry on again just too much a hatch but slightly small now from earlier see if I think face it too still sticking with the drop shot as well because a little bit of current here you can just on the pause you can hold it and it just keeps the rock and the sort of swimming position but then literally very little movement in the Rob and all these locals in other areas all predators he's got the obvious ham bush points couple of all stanchions down there good cover for the perch as well and quite a few little shelter goes up and then called back down again there as well so the bit fish to pass out of this sort of area up into deeper water purchase at the nape and it is important what Benilde them Oh leg up in this little slack area here fish I'll do some fish fish to swell to the left right as well without shaking I love a nice fish the beauty on the drop shot so for the success from earlier all not cheddar went quite a bit so I choose over to the drop shot fry this to the result if I'm fishing with this and this lovely looking there battle scarred warrior really it's absolutely piece of a fish really cracking result unlike here really [Music] I've just come down here now as well to a slap and got a sluice comes in from left on side it's pushing fair coolant through there the purge just sit just off it behind these three old stanchions here now normally if you just work euler just in between them three should get a hit at least I hope it do anyway [Music] [Music] oh and we got fish on right off that back shelf we've seen fish and the net so go twice I'm in the day now and this got me the best of the day so far absolutely fantastic absolutely nailed it under for our Silva bleah I kept on this sort of area cuz know some much been further down it's always good to keep an eye on the match Group reports results on your local canals if they're getting big back to Silver's then fish like they certainly too far behind absolutely took the bits for this fish absolutely brilliant especially on light gear as well really good just proves swapping and cheering Euler throughout the day certainly worked as well I think I've gone from my full box to do so it's really good [Music] well what result today has been absolutely fantastic can not grumble at all a three fish on the drop shot one on the jig brilliant their foot got a feel the fish first thing first of all had a couple of small fish in between but the four main fish is the ones I've get up contort honest with you so yeah brilliant there and I'll there the buffing again hopefully to catch a few more [Music]
