🥽 Quest Pro: Still Worth Getting with the Upcoming Quest 3? YES! 🥽

[Music] hello and welcome now has never been a better time to not get a quest Pro or to get one let me explain with the quest 3 just around the corner and expected to provide a better mixed reality experience what does the quest Pro give you that the quest 3 doesn't well it is probably just the face and eye tracking that the quest Pro could have over the quest 3. so if you don't need face and eye tracking you should be staying well away from the quest probe and waiting for the quest 3. if you would like the chance for dynamic phobiated rendering which could give you more performance with some games and apps or you would like your avatar to have a more realistic eye and facial movements then should you consider the quest Pro with prices for the quest Pro being as low as they have ever been at around a thousand pounds the used Market or even individuals selling on new and sealed Quest Pros continues to off the headset at prizes that are lower and more reasonable I decided that this was my my chance to take a look at the headset and pick this new and sealed Quest Pro up for what I think was a worthwhile price of 660 pounds this means that these thoughts are my complete and honest views and I'm not sponsored for this video my perspective however is from that of someone who hasn't paid the 1500 pound it once was the headset comes packaged to the standard we have come to expect with VR headsets it comes with a charging dock and its USBC cable the front cover and protector self-tracking controllers two stylus tips One charging cable for the controllers to use when away from the dock or when the controller is in use and the side light blockers the padding on the headset is a relatively smooth rubber with one that makes contact with your forehead and one at the rear bottom half of your head this will cause your forehead to sweat as it can't breathe but at least the pad can be wiped down easily I prefer a breathable cover so it can be washed so I have my eye on the VR cover fabric cover I didn't anticipate however how much I would like not having a facial interface against my skin it felt much more usable for working especially in the UK's current hotter weather putting the headset on and it feels okay however the back does tend to feel like it isn't being held up enough and after a short time the pressure on the forehead could cause it to ache some people suggested turning the rear pad upside down so it cups the top half of your head and this does feel much better but again after a short amount of time your forehead again could start to ache turning the rear pad upside down unfortunately has the downside of then preventing your headset from charging on the dock unless you put something under the rear of the headset to raise it up to try and solve all of this you can get various accessories which include top straps however with some of these accessories used to have in some cases reported that the top strap attachments broke the clips for the front head pad so I've decided to go with this the Spigen head strap which goes side to side it has some padding across the top and has a place to secure cable either side if needed I did find that when this top strap was combined with the rear pad upside down there was too much lifting the headset up and not enough pressure all around to make it stable with the rear pad the right way up though and with the Spigen strap the headset feels considerably better not like my Quest 2 or Pico 4 but still better with just a slight wobble at the front side to side the head strap doesn't lift up like the quest 2s but it extends to allow you to take it on and off easily matter of kindly found the Pico 4's 3.5 millimeter headphone jack and fitted it to the quest Pro to prevent it getting lost so the quest pro has two headphone ports which is a huge Plus for the pro the scroll wheel at the top front allows you to move the front head pad backwards and forwards which increases or decreases your field of view but allows extra space if you need to wear glasses it also has the added benefit that if you're working in VR you can increase the Gap around the bottom so you can see your keyboard clearly you can use the pass-through but you might find that the parsuit isn't quite as good as you would want for typing and it is roughly the same the pk4s parsu is expected to be a win for the quest 3 in this area the included side light blockers are made of thin Rubber and help block out distractions or bring you closer to being immersed in the experience I don't quite know whether I like them or not so they don't tend to sit quite right each time I put the headset on but they are useful and I'd said before it allows me to see my keyboard if working by not having the full light blocker at 50 pounds the full light blocker it is a bit insulting but luckily by getting the device now you have third party options for around 20 pounds this should allow a greater view of the displays and reduce glare on the lenses the lenses which are pancake lenses are similar to The pico4 and the general opinion is that their Quest Pros are better which I also agree with the edge to edge Clarity being slightly more giving a clear image and wide Sweet Spot the controllers like the headset are well made packed with tech and are textured on one half the controller increasing grip whilst the other half smooth they feel good in your hand and during use will give you several hours of use if you're working in VR you can get away with using your hand tracking most of the time meaning the controllers last much much longer I also strangely love the way they look like a cartooned up the wrist straps are made from a thin Rubber and are easy to detach with a simple 90 degree turn of the metal connection before then pulling them out the trigger feels exactly the same as the Quest 2 whilst the grip and A B Y and X buttons feel less pronounced the quest pro has dual 1800 by 1920 displays which is slightly less resolution than the Quest 2 although as there are two displays rather than the one in the Quest 2 it means they can be positioned and used in such a way that means more pixels will be within your site so this would be no hardest to run with pcvr or Standalone in The Quest 2 but we'll have a clearer display the local dimming adds to that Clarity and available contrast if the quest 3 sticks to a single panel then it will need to increase its resolution to get the same level of clarity and will therefore be harder to run just like the Pico 4 we shall see using the headset I have feeling of using a premium device and can understand more why the price was where it was it does feel more suited for working and with apps like meta horizon workrooms or immersed you can have a good experience not thoughtless but generally good so would I stick using the quest Pro when the quest 3 comes well I'm not anticipating the quest 3 to look any clearer or if it is then it will just be ever so slightly The Parsley will be the biggest game however with being able to see my keyboard an immediate desk area of the quest Pro I'm more than happy with it and don't need the pass through as much if at all also if better avatars come along and I'm more willing to attend meetings with my avatar then the iron facial tracking will really help so overall I'm quite surprised I don't think I can recommend it for the current retail price of one thousand pounds but if you're comfortable with using eBay then you can pick up one yourself for a great deal and I think it is likely to stay relevant well into the quest 3 era although maybe stay away from the pro if your sole use will be for VR Gaming let me know what you think Link in the comments below please click like if you
