hello? Today I am going on a car trip for the first time in a long time :) I plan to visit several places today, and I will introduce only the places I personally liked the most. It's still early in the morning, so the highway rest area is deserted. It was early morning so no cafes were open yet. There was an amazing robot cafe. I ordered one out of curiosity, and he served me a drink quite skillfully :) It's fascinating, but at the same time, the world is changing so quickly. I was also worried that it might not be easy to follow. After driving for about 2 hours, we arrived at today's destination. It's still early in the morning and the water is foggy. Preparations are in full swing for an event today. A food village was created like this. This is ‘Nongdari’ in Jincheon, North Chungcheong Province. ‘Nongdari’ is a 1,000-year-old bridge built over a stream called Sesecheon Stream. It is the oldest and longest stone bridge in Korea. ‘Nongdari’ has a total of 28 piers. All stones were stacked to create a pier, and long and wide stones were used.
made between piers This is a bridge filled with the wisdom of our ancestors. Although the bridge is over a thousand years old, it is said to never collapse no matter how much rain falls. Isn’t it fascinating? The bridge is also called ‘centipede bridge’ because it looks like a centipede when viewed from above. There is a pontoon bridge right next to ‘Nongdari’. If you feel uncomfortable crossing the stone bridge, you can cross over there. The reason I came here today is to see ‘Nongdari’. There is also a wonderful trekking course that I will introduce later. The top of the stone bridge is raised without a single error. It was amazing how they fit together so exquisitely. After crossing ‘Nongdari’, the trekking course continues. There are various courses, but if you go in the order I am introducing you today, You can view it comfortably without missing anything. The trekking time is expected to be approximately 2 hours. Since it rained yesterday, the scent of the forest feels even stronger. Just walking can be healing :) First, go in the direction of ‘Chorong-gil’. If you have time, take the left side road for a moment. I recommend going to the top of the mountain. Just go up the small side road to the left. There is a small pavilion at the top of the mountain. The name of this pavilion is ‘Nongamjeong’. The view from ‘Nongamjeong’ is worth admiring at least once. The lake shown below is ‘Chopyeong Lake’, famous for carp fishing. A long suspension bridge can be seen between ‘Chopyeong Lake’ That bridge is the newly built longest suspension bridge in Korea. Thanks to that bridge, the circular trekking course has been completed. If you come down from ‘Nongamjeong’ and head towards ‘Chorongal’ again, you will find ‘Cheongryong Yeouiju’. It is said that if you touch Yeouiju, your wish will be granted. You can't touch it, right? :) This huge tree is called ‘Yonggogae Seonghwangdang’. People's wishes created this stone wall. Now there is a three-way intersection Here is the ‘Hyundai Mobis Outdoor Music Hall’. This is an outdoor music hall with 600 seats overlooking Chopyeong Lake. The sound of water and birds sounds like music. ‘Chorong-gil’ begins to the left of the music hall. It's a waterside deck road that goes around a beautiful lake. It was great for a walk! Because I came a little early today, I was able to walk quietly on the deck path with no one around. The birds' sounds are so diverse and beautiful that it's like background music, right? A new circular deck road can be seen on the other side of Chopyeong Lake. Thanks to this, the road continues no matter which direction you start from. There are also people coming from the other side. There are many spacious rest areas like this. Now you can go in the direction of ‘Sky Bridge’ There is no wind today and the lake is calm. The shadow of the mountain is reflected on the water, making it even more beautiful. really! The nickname of ‘Jincheon-gun’ is ‘Saenggeojincheon’. In the past, the Grim Reaper mistakenly took a man named ‘Cheo Cheon-seok’ living in Jincheon to the underworld and tried to bring him back. There is a legend that he entered the body of ‘Cheon-seok Chu’, who lives in Yongin, because he had already been buried. It means ‘I lived in Jincheon when I was alive and I lived in Yongin when I died.’ Now it is ‘a place you must visit once in your life’ I'm using it to mean :) Now you can see the first ‘Sky Bridge’ in the distance The ‘Sky Bridge’ is an old bridge. Just a month ago, we had to turn back from here. It is also connected to the ‘Nongamjeong’ hiking trail. Chopyeong Lake Sky Bridge is not that long. But it's really beautiful with the picturesque lake in the background This is a trekking course that represents Jincheon-gun. If you come this far, it is about 1.7km. But the really cool scenery comes a little later. You can't miss it, right? There is a rest area after crossing the ‘Sky Bridge’ As Chopyeong Lake is famous nationwide for carp fishing, I made a wish on a crucian carp pendant :) This rest area also has a store called ‘Youth Store’. They say it opens at 9:30. What is this red top? They say it's a life-saving rocket. This is my first time seeing it. It is said that if you attach that yellow rocket and shoot it, a rope will be launched. That's a really cool idea, isn't it? :) Of course, there shouldn't be anything to write about! From here, the newly created trekking course continues. This bridge is a floating bridge on the water. There is a youth training center right next to it. A zip line is also installed. The facilities are very nice, right? This was a new deck, so it was in very good condition. I can feel the desire to save even a single tree (kudos to you!) ‘Nongamjeong’ can be seen in the distance on the other side. This deck road was even better because there was no section blocked by the lake. Now I'm going up a little hill. The mountain path section is not that difficult and I feel like phytoncide is pouring in. After a short mountain road section, the highlight of the day finally appears. This is the longest suspension bridge in Korea that was newly built. It is called ‘Mir 309’ bridge. ‘309’ means the length of the bridge is 309m. There will be a longer bridge soon, but so far this is the longest suspension bridge. The suspension bridge opens every day at 9:30 a.m. It's reassuring to hear that it's designed to allow up to 1,650 people to cross at a time :) This bridge doesn't have a pier in the middle and is open at the bottom, so I'm a little scared. When you actually walk, it shakes a little bit. It's really dizzying when you look down from the bridge. The steel cables connecting the legs are really thick, so I feel reassured. Thanks to this suspension bridge, you can now make a full circle no matter which side you start from. When you cross the bridge, you will come to a fork in the road. To the left is a hiking trail, and if you go to the right, you can walk comfortably. really! There is also a red clay forest path here. Many people are walking barefoot. Wouldn’t it be better if it rained? Separate shoe storage and foot washing facilities are also provided. Jincheon-gun seems to be really serious about trekking :) There is also ‘The Mir Cafe’ here. Wouldn’t it be more atmospheric if you take out your coffee and drink it while looking at the lake? :) On the other side of the red clay road on the left, there is a forest walking path. This road does not lead to the lake, but after walking for a while, it was very lush and nice. This means that the courses are diverse. Now we are back on the course and returning to a clean paved road. It leads back to the outdoor music hall. Now I have returned to ‘Nongdari’, and the course takes about 2 hours including rest time. Anyone of any age can walk comfortably I would like to strongly recommend it as a family trekking course. Now we are going to the second location This place is about 15 minutes away by car from ‘Nongdari’. The road up is single and you have to climb the mountain. This place at the top of the mountain is the ‘Dutasan Korean Peninsula Topography’ observatory. It is also connected to the hiking trail to the summit of Dutasan Mountain. The glimpse of the scenery is truly breathtaking, isn’t it? Looking at the map, each region was matched appropriately :) Would you like to take a look? Some say that the islands floating in the middle of ‘Chopyeong Lake’ look like the topography of the Korean Peninsula, and some say it looks like a dragon ascending to heaven in search of Yeouiju. The small places on the right are Ulleungdo and Dokdo. It's the southern coast after Ulsan and Busan :) There is also Jeju Island at the bottom left. The view from the top of Dutasan Mountain, 558m above sea level, was truly amazing. Now, shall we go to the third location? This place, which we arrived at in about 20 minutes by car, is also a famous spot for cherry blossoms. This is ‘Gilsangsa Temple’ When you think of ‘Gilsangsa Temple’, you might think it’s a temple. Actually, this is not a temple. This is a shrine that enshrines the portrait of General Kim Yu-shin, who achieved the feat of unifying the three kingdoms. It is said that it was built during the Silla Dynasty and ancestral rites are held in spring and fall to this day. ‘Gilsangsa Temple’ is famous as a place where you can feel the charm of the scenery in all four seasons. The reason is that you can feel it right away when you go inside. This place, where hundreds of years old trees welcome you, gives you an unusual energy. Inside, there are shrines and historical monuments. This tree is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms. The flowers are so lovely, it’s like a painting. There is a portrait enshrined in ‘Heungmujeon’. General Kim Yu-shin is also called ‘King Heungmu’. This is my first time seeing General Kim Yu-shin’s portrait. There is also a guestbook. If you come to Jincheon, ‘Gilsangsa Temple’ is a must-visit attraction. Now we have come to the fourth location, about 5 minutes away from ‘Gilsangsa Temple’. This is ‘Saenggeojincheon Traditional Market’. The 5-day market dates are the 5th and 10th. It is a traditional market that has been around since the Joseon Dynasty. They say it was modernized like it is now in 2015. During the 5-day market, there are 70 stores and about 260 street stalls. It is said that the largest market in the country will be held. When I travel, I always try to eat at traditional markets whenever possible. The prices are cheap, but many old restaurants serve the basics :) The fifth location is about 15 minutes away from the market. The parking lot is very spacious and well maintained. This is the Jincheon ‘Bell Museum’ Jincheon has an ancient iron production site that is known to be the most advanced in Korea. That's why they created various materials and experience facilities about temple bells. There was an outdoor temple bell experience facility. The sound was really loud and clear. The entrance fee is 5,000 won, and you will get 5,000 won back with a Jincheon gift certificate. If I had known in advance, it would have been better to come here first and then go to the market :) Inside, there were various temple models and experience facilities. It was fun to hear a bell sound when you press it with your foot. Personally, what I found most interesting was the place where they explained how to make a bell. It's easy to understand just by looking at the model. I would love to watch it with my kids. There is also a ‘Print Art Museum’ right next to the museum. It's been a while since I enjoyed cultural life :) Now we come to the last place The name of this place is ‘Baeti Holy Site’. Not just a shrine, but a cathedral and museum, There is even a walking path with a martyr's tomb. In particular, there are about 20 tombs of unknown martyrs. Also known as pilgrimage route The cathedral in the middle of the Holy Land is like being in the middle of Europe.
It makes me feel like I'm there. It is designated as Local Monument No. 150. In particular, it is said to be a historic place where the writings of Father Choi Yang-eop, the second Korean priest, took place. It's really amazing that there is a cathedral like this deep in the forest. I couldn't go inside the cathedral because mass was in progress. Instead, the stained glass was very nice. There is a nice rest area and cafe right next to the cathedral. It's a perfect ending to the trip. Today, I introduced you to famous places in Jincheon-gun. Public transportation is somewhat inconvenient, so we recommend traveling by car. I hope this helps you plan your trip Thank you for watching today!
