[Music] [Music] hey guys it is thrifting sunday so i thought today we would thrift and style and what a gorgeous day it is did you hear the church bells in the background it's just really lovely out today so i thought i would just kind of uh put together 10 of my thrift store finds and let you know kind of how i'm planning on styling them for easter but i would like you guys to comment below with how you would style them for your easter table or different ideas of different ways that i could judge these up to make them look really cool in our holiday decor but just in our indoor and outdoor decor as well as some of these you're not going to believe that they came from a thrift store now number one i'm going to start here so i like to get things that i know will be receptacles for immediate uh plop and plant or plant uh plapa a plant i should say and this is just a hanging basket of bacopa in here so what i'm doing is taking off i'm sure you guys have done this a thousand times too i'm just taking off the hanger and then just plopping it inside and even though a tiny bit of the plant the plastic pot of this bacopa plant shows nevertheless as this continues to grow it will cascade over the side and you won't notice now this is just a rusty old planter it has no drainage holes and typically i sometimes i will i will put drainage holes in the bottom and sometimes i won't but there you see those little felt glides that i like to put on the bottom of anything because look on this stainless steel table they just glide without scratching whatsoever so that in and of itself would just look so wonderful as a centerpiece for your easter table for any kind of occasion that you're celebrating with a couple of candlesticks along with it maybe some beautiful easter eggs some yellow easter eggs would look pretty with that so this is just i think this is a good will find again sometimes you guys tell me that your good wills are are expensive thrift stores um but when i say thrift i'm not confining it just to like goodwill or salvation army to me thrifting includes almost everything like tag sales garage sales things that people leave on the side of the road thrifting your own basement thrifting someone else's basement things that that people at one time or another decided that they didn't want them anymore and they were putting them in a venue to be reused recycled repurposed and reloved by someone else so this in particular is wonderful at other times i have had fabulous large succulents in it and it looked equally as beautiful i think now this is a sweet this has been featured on one of my instagram things before where i did an instagram challenge of what to put in this sweet little chalice shaped vessel it's porcelain and again this is another plop a plant this is just a simple little fern that goes in here this often resides in my bathroom next to my sink because ferns like humidity it would also be wonderful you guys to hold your toothpaste and your toothbrushes anything like that would be really fun and so colored pencils it's just a good nice size so that also came from my goodwill store this next item came from just a junk store in a small town in oklahoma so that would be my suggestion if you feel like you don't have really good thrifting sources right near you it's a fun thing to do when you're out of town is especially small towns they often have locations like this it's fun to peruse and see what kind of treasures you can find now this one this little stone it could be stone container bowl vase whatever it is planter could be used for so so many things now why this captured my eye and this is a tip if you are trying to kind of categorize things to look for in the thrift store this captured my eye because it's blue stoneware facade looks very much actually it's identical to some pottery lamps that i have in my bedroom this matches it perfectly so when i saw it i got this so that i can have a sweet little oh flower arrangement bedside plant i could put you know little candies in here anything like that but that is another general category that will catch my eye when i'm at a location is something that is the same finish or material and matches something that i that i already have that makes it look less junky and more more oh kind of consistent and harmonious with other things that i've already got inside and outside now for a long time i was trying to think what can i do because you guys may be like me and you buy lots of forced hyacinths paper whites smaller daffodils like this and they come in these hyacinth jars at trader joe's i think right now you can get a forced bulb for like 299 or 399. so what happens i end up with a whole bunch of these bottles and i kept thinking well i could take these to my junk store my goodwill store and they could be reused for the same purpose but they just are so appealing all together in a basket like this which by the way did come from a thrift store with its divided part partitions excuse me my math isn't working well today partitions and obviously lots of different things could be put in this basket i could roll up napkins flatware all sorts of things but how fun is this to put all of these jars in this basket to carry outside when i'm dining alfresco and we may be drinking some rose or something and you know when you're in a restaurant and they will bring you a refill of wine when your glass is empty and they bring them in those sweet little carafes why couldn't you use these as those wine carafes for when somebody needs a refill i think it would be charming for that it would also be fun to fill these up with jelly beans or easter eggs or chocolates or anything like that and put them at each table especially if you did something fun like buy custom sized corks that you then put on the top as an enclosure now what i did was i just measured the inside of the surface and then on amazon i just bought some corks now this one actually it will fit gently if i wanted a tighter fit i would get one that had a smaller diameter and then you could use it for things like oh herbal vinegars or i don't know what else what else susu seuss is here again stewart's mother salad dressing vinaigrettes things like that i think that would be really really fun and so dear and then you could tie a ribbon around it with that person's name and it would be a wonderful little take-home treasure so that is my idea where i thrifted my basement and paired it with something that i bought at the thrift store now this one was a real score you guys and it was something that i purchased this was at a store in colorado in salida and i just fell in love with this basket look at this isn't that marvelous long and thin and i just think it's absolutely wonderful now i have not used it for this purpose yet but i promise you in my future we can when we can all gather together to again in safety stewart is shaking his head oh yes i'm going to have a baguette party where i'm going to have this filled with different kinds of baguettes and then i'm going to have on the table just all sorts of trimmings and trappings and goodies to fill your baguette sandwich with make your own it looks so italian to me so rustic and perfect for outdoor dining but i would love your ideas on what else you could put in here that would look really really cool to make it a multi-tasker for different kinds of occasions so let me know about that but i think you'll agree even though this was a little bit more of an expensive find i think this was maybe 12 which at my my stores is is a little bit pricey but i absolutely love it so that is that is my next or my um another good thrift store find now i've talked about planting living easter baskets and living easter boxes well why not plant a living easter bowl so this is a bowl that i got at the thrift store and i sometimes will set it on top of one of those columnar pillar candle holders or something to give it height sometimes i'll put it on a cake stand filled with all sorts of things one year i did it filled with nothing but absolutely beautiful spring vegetables cabbages celery turnips carrots and it made a fabulous centerpiece bunches of lettuce and parsley and this was very inexpensive i think this was a couple dollars it's got a little chip on the side of it but i don't care this year it would just be so sweet to plant with easter grass and this is what we did not too long ago you guys this is two weeks old this grass is and look at how thick and full it is and then even more deer when you find something in white porcelain to pair it with and yes i found these darling little easter bunnies i got a set of i can't i can't remember six to eight of them they were stuart's nodding his head yes and how dear are those and they hold a place card so you could use this at your table setting you could use that as a gift tag you could use it to denote whose easter basket is whose if you've got if if you've got a lot of littles and you're trying to decide and they need to know which one is their basket that was a real score and i'm going to do next week a whole thrifted easter lands center scape for you centerpiece on a tablescape that's the word i was looking for on a tablescape that i think will be absolutely fun all or 90 percent with thrifted finds that will be great so here's another really great find you guys this is an old rusted mesh strainer it might even be antique i don't know stuart can you capture that at the bottom so whatever i plant in here will need pretty good drainage i could put something in here to kind of uh make that drainage a little less excessive but this would be a perfect container if you guys like to grow succulents so putting succulents and planting succulents in there is immediately what i thought of but i think i'm going to do mine with just an assortment of dusty millers and marigolds and isn't that just so sweet and it would be cute then to have oh just a side bowl of cherry tomatoes or something that like that along with it but i think it's really really deer and then i've got it atop one of the things i always look for and that's these just old metal stands because what they do is elevate them and especially when i'm entertaining and like for example at my baguette party it's fun to have different ingredients on different levels in the center of the table it has that layering look that i like so much so that is a very very good find now i'm going to move this down so i can talk about a couple of other things this t-shirt this t-shirt was a thrifted find now i've told you a million times that i'm you know a lot of my clothing isn't too isn't too precious or whatever because i'm working outside it gets it gets dirty uh and so i'm always looking for usually really bright t-shirts and things like that that i can wear on camera that will stand out a little bit because a lot of of my regular wardrobe tends to just be in neutral colors and sometimes it's fun to have just a pop of something that's a little brighter so i'm always looking for fun t-shirts that i can wear out into the garden that aren't in too bad of shape and i really liked this one and i loved the color of it now this it's expensive thrifting but nevertheless estate sales can also can also be a source of really good buys now i'm going to interrupt myself to do a little commercial here someone contacted me from dallas a follower and asked if they could come by my house when they were in oklahoma city and by the way kristin i'm so sorry i missed you i was out plant shopping flower shopping and i missed you when you came by but she came by she brought me the dearest gift and i can't tell you how touched i was but what nearly made me tear up were these because she came by with her kids and i want to make sure that they both get equal credit because look the kids made me grace and maggie made me these little cards and i just i'm just so touched these will hold a place of prominence on my bulletin board or my refrigerator i promise you look a little thank you note thank you for letting us see your garden talk about a treasure these are very very will be very great treasures of mine and i will put them front and center for all to see grace and maggie thank you so much so they were sitting this one in particular because it had that bright gold color was sitting inside a pot of this brilliant gold wallflower which is a plop that plant into a beautiful cast stone planter now my friend friend roger that some of you know and have met here on this youtube channel before he got this at us an estate sale for me for all of ten dollars now if you bought this at a nursery it would be many many times that but i'm i don't have time to go to a lot of estate sales but roger is my proxy and when he finds something wonderful he'll sometimes go ahead and pick it up for me and this was one of those absolutely beautiful finds so there's just um a few little easter ideas from the thrift store again if you liked this one make sure to you know like subscribe but also please tell me what you would do with these same items and how i can use them functionally in different ways as the seasons progress or how you might use them on your tablescape this easter thank you guys for hanging out go out and enjoy the beautiful weather right now
