[Music] open sights yeah II think you are rooftops Hyneman [Music] right I'm ready all right let's do it one fifty come on it to impact those two rounds were stacked dead center away two fifty yeah so you're one hit on that 250 right now okay on it 300 just off the right edge right edge again that one's about a quarter target limp to the right I gather there's a little bit of wind then yeah I was just saying I just was aiming dead-on but now looking up I'm seeing a little bit of it yeah well it's interesting because we didn't really have it at our position here a second ago yeah okay one at 350 okay windage was fine but you were over at the bar so come down half the target lengths or so impact utilize okay I'm on it 400 impact impact neutralized I'm on it 450 okay hi not quite sure exactly how high that was impact okay I'm on it 500 hi you're a just a hair above the bar and it was on the left half of the plate impact done that was a clean clean run well shot thank you thank you I was is that the best score there was like one or two it's gonna be up there it's gonna be in the top top view on the waters all right so the m39 we've seen it out to five hundred and that they actually shot it out to one kilometer we will show you do have to caveat a couple things one the velocity of that particular cartridge that the finished SPECT cartridge was particularly slow very accurate very efficient however very slow which if you know at longer distances is a disadvantage to you and higher winds this was a relatively winless stay second caveat I was in quite a rush so I told Josh I'll do five rounds if I don't get it you know whatever we'll come back for it whenever we came back it was always very windy however you'll see you'll see how it performed at the thousand-yard range and I'll review that with you okay and see the rear side cranked all the way high and you can see that war is actually pointed upward so you can see you can actually see how I how the rifle was trying to arc the projectile out there by how high its pointed for that target now we go into firing the first shot okay so looking at this first shot I miss and I believe that was set on the thousand because I just wanted to see a thousand if I could gauge where it would be hitting a thousand meters that is so then I bump it down to maybe 800 or 900 meters and I fire another one let's see and we hit shallow to the right what that tells me is that the wind is pushing it to the right at that distance and that's again to compensate for the low velocity of the cartridge and then I bump it back to one kilometer and then this is where we actually see impacts right there Bing right there okay so it hits bottom left so I was pushing it too far to the left on the windage but I am not messing with the elevation because I know I could use my elevation to somebody that in in the ballpark now this is a shots that is quite that we have reviewed many a times that may be a hit it looks like it was potentially a hit on the on the bottom left of the plate going off to the dirt however BAM that is a clear hit now that day not sure why we weren't able to spot that I know I was rushing Josh unfortunately so when I was rushing Josh maybe he just didn't see that you have to be expedient on this one okay ready are you right but yeah you could definitely see the m39 and its prowess with the cartridge it was designed for and now back to the program so let's put it this way is it as a result of this finish Mosin frickin suede yeah scary that was unbelievable I mean you were you were rocking it there was like the only real mrs. you've had is when you you would adjust when the wind came in at 300 that one was like there was like maybe one because if when but almost all of your misses you'd be out there you'd line it up the shot would be great on windage but you'd be high uh-huh you'd correct the sight boom right on right on the okay so the sight system is incredible on this it's it is so overlooked by so many people on the left side you see how it has the machine marks on the right side none so you know the cool thing is pop it off of 150 pop it off of 200 hold down the left side there's really three and you can make that make the adjustment in the trench so you can have fine-tune adjustment or grow suggests yes grow such as the right left side left side engaged fine too an adjustment so it's it's fine-tuned for her 25 meters so that's why whenever you told me it was like so many high I was just adjusting it by the 25 meter fine-tune adjustment and I kind of know the correlation of the of meters to yards at this point so I was just adjusting it to whatever so when I was shooting at the 400 I believe I was using 375 yeah to hit the 400 make sense I mean that was that was a scary good run especially that really does go to show you the difference when people talk about the Mosin and what it's capable of especially when we think about when we saw where the the Mosin standard was that was surprising mm-hmm that did a lot better than I thought it would do despite the fact that we were having to work the bolt with a hammer right okay now when you compare this to the Mosin PU the sniper the factory sniper this is an entirely other class yeah it's in a different league altogether like not even close it's it's also used I mean the fact the fact is we try to duplicate that finished load we wanted to make it as close as possible to what a finished soldier would be using right we used all the finished components the powder was Vittori projectile was the Lapua 166 d 166 that UPS decided to scatter all over the place but yeah the performance of it I mean it's it's the entire system that we talked about like the m110 so good when you have an entire system that's designed around that cartridge magic yeah magic so I understand now what how awful would be for when Russia invaded Finland yeah can you imagine that I mean the Finns were the the Russians were going in by the droves and the Finns were just digging in and ambushing them crazy so the the white death ah Simo that that is the is that the highest number of record historically yes you know the highest of highest confirmed kills of any [ __ ] this is the rifle he used right no he knows the m27 which was the mg last generation of this but same family just the later generation so the funny thing is if you look at all these famous snipers out there they're all country boys yeah he was a farmer no kid I used to compete a lot on rifle matches I've had a lot of medals and all these guys are really like quiet soft-spoken guys you know very humble people that you run into that's a really interesting thing that out all these snipers were essentially these guys who have had an affinity towards shooting and they didn't become these famous snipers by let's say military training knows it's their up their heritage and coming going like doing competition yeah like enjoying hunting and and just enjoying a day out like this he did a lot of his kills with iron sights in fact all of it I mean it looks I'm watching this right now you just made this look easy like that was this rifle makes this course easy well I'm and with iron sights nonetheless the only the only rifles that we've had at this point that would have fared better than what this just did are those that are aspectus DMR's exactly how and we went within the 500 yard bracket with the DMR setup firearms we've cleaned the course clean perfectly with a couple of different ones or with one then with only one mess on a few but in terms of like all of the other battle rifles we've got and all of the others seen our rifles we've got this is absolutely at the top yeah I mean that that right there is impressive in and of itself I mean that's that's it's kind of scary it's a little scary so I think it beat the case 31 didn't it it did yeah and I understand you've brought out a little tasty treat for us oh yeah my my friends from Finland sent since sent us some licorice I've never had Finnish licorice before well the the kids go crazy over this do they really yeah I mean I've had like American with the Finnish black licorice a piece please okay to a freaking amazing rifle indeed the kids go crazy for this stuff huh you're still chewing it cool I like their rifles more than their sweets another please really [Music] [Applause]
