rating breakfast around the world Japan the traditional Japanese breakfast is one of great variety with multiple smaller portions of different types of food of course we have a bowl of steamed rice on top of which I added natto a fermented soybean dish that is probably the slimiest thing I've ever put in my mouth look at that thing stretch we also have miso soup and I made a quick version that literally took me like two minutes to complete I added some tofu to this for some light protein and the final side dish I made was tamagoyaki which is a Japanese layered omelette that involves a technique that I haven't quite mastered yet of adding the egg mixture gradually and rolling The Omelette onto itself it wasn't the prettiest thing but I'm pretty proud of it this breakfast was surprisingly quick to complete it's nutritionally complete and it's not overfilling it's tasty complex and it's really fun to eat I have to give this a 9 out of 10. pretty close to perfect comment your country so I can make your breakfast [Music] thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign thank you [Music] what my Japanese mom made me for dinner we grow green onions this is okano Miyaki [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] my first time trying nada [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] all right [Music] wow wow [Music] laughs [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign foreign foreign [Music] that's fire [Music] thank you [Music] the best juicy and crunchy karage that anyone can make at home first off we're gonna cut chicken thigh into bad size pieces and marinate it in garlic ginger sake mirin soy sauce salt sugar and white pepper leave that in the fridge for at least 30 minutes then add beaten eggs and flour now dress the chicken in potato starch and let that rest for 5 minutes which will help create a crust to make it extra crispy we're gonna double fry so the first fry will be at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes then 375 degrees into a golden brown and crispy season immediately with salt and togarashi and that's how you make welcome to episode 6 of my foods from film series today we are making onigiri from Spirited Away in Japan you can find onigiri everywhere the best ones I've eaten were from this little onigiri store at a train station it's often wrapped in Nori but I wanted to stay true to the anime drawings and make the outside plain I couldn't tell what the fillings were in the anime so I made three simple variations of it but the possibilities are endless the key to making a good onigiri is good rice and clean rice so please wash your rice for the filling I've got a tuna Mayo also some furikake and umeboshi to shape them wet your hands with water and sprinkle a bit of salt this way you're seasoning your rice while preventing it from sticking place the filling in some rice and press it into a triangle the full recipe is in the link in my bio and I've also got a longer video version on my Instagram where I go into depth on how to make these three flavors [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] this is not your average egg sandwich this is a Japanese tamago sandal possibly the best egg sandwich out there first boil some eggs in a pan and then transfer them to a bowl of ice water remove the yolks from the two eggs mash them up and then add in their chopped whites with some mayo salt Yakitori seasoning and some chopped up spring onions get two pieces of thick white bread and butter them get your two other eggs chop them in half and place them down on the bread top with the egg mixture and then place on the second slice of bread wrap in baking paper then serve up best foods you can get at a Japanese Supermarket for under 500 yen a lot of Bento boxes and Sushi are reasonably priced this green onion and tuna is simple but delicious next is a drink I recommend grabbing a tea but this milk tea is a serious must my favorite dessert is dango lucky for me this one is 40 off today my style is ridiculous [Music] [Music] thank you Sushi since I was around seven years old and this Japanese onigiratsu from my sandwich World Tour series is one of my favorite things to eat prepare the rice by cooking it to package instructions then add rice wine vinegar sugar and salt mixture to the rice for seasoning make a little square omelette and set aside then chop up your avocado and prepare your tuna by combining mayonnaise salt and pepper to construct your sandwich top your Nori sheet with rice avocado tuna omelette more avocado and then another small Nori sheet then fold up into a square place in the fridge for 30 minutes and then serve [Music] what is that I'm so glad you asked it's not Mochi it's called kasamuchi which is a traditional Okinawan style of Mochi that is wrapped in Shell Ginger leaf and steamed this one is purple sweet potato flavor it tastes a little bit different than usual Mochi but it's really really soft and Squishy come with us to the cup noodle Museum we made our own original cup noodles first we bought the cup through a vending machine then we sat down to draw our own cup design using the markers they have then we went on to the next steps where they would fill the cup with noodles and they made us choose our soup base plus three toppings the last step was sealing our cup noodles and then they gave us plastic bags for us to inflate ourselves and the whole process was really fun then we tried the cup noodle flavored ice [Music] my boyfriend
