Hello, this is Kim Yong-cheol from El Sound. Today, we will take the time to share some tips with you. What is it about today? The sound of a certain church is a little too bad. When I looked for the cause, it was a scene where too many monitor speakers were installed and the sound of the main speaker was rather disturbing because the sound was too loud. I would like to take the time to share with you all about how to solve this problem is the best solution. The method is simple. We have to configure the In Ear System, but since the church is in a difficult economic situation, I suggested a way to do in-ear without being financially burdened. Since the expected effect is even greater, we will take the time to share it with you all. So, before we start, don't forget to like and subscribe. We'll start right away after watching the video. Let's get started If I can give you a brief explanation of that church, what kind of church it is is a fan-shaped church. As many of you have seen, the angle between 90º and 120º is now commonly thought of as a fan-shaped chapel, but that church has a uniquely almost 180º angle. It's almost a semicircle. It was a chapel in the shape of a semicircle. What is special is that the church is a semi-two-story church, but all the walls are made of bricks. In the past, a lot of buildings were built with bricks, but when it comes to building with bricks, there are a lot of bad reverberations, not pretty reverberations. There was From the outside, it was a pretty chapel, but from an acoustic point of view, it was clear that it was a bad environment. If you look closely at this church, you will find
I have a podium Below that, the praise teams will stand and singers will stand and sing. The Session is where the people on the left are gathered when you watch the video on the left. First, Second Keyboard. Then there is the Drum and then the Electric Guitar 1 and 2, and what you see now is the situation where there is one Electric Guitar now, and then there is the Bass. It is said that most churches have this kind of session. But what's special here is that there are too many monitor speakers if you look closely now. If you look at the picture, there are two main keyboards, followed by string keyboards. However, the monitor speaker placed in front of it is quite large. So, there are two monitor speakers whose woofer size itself has a large number of inches. If you look to the side, there are monitor speakers for each session and electric guitar, and then there is a separate monitor speaker on the bass side. After that, there is a separate monitor speaker on the drum side as well. So now there are quite a few Monitor Speakers that are only on the Session side. In addition, of course, there is also a monitor speaker on the singer side, and there is also a monitor speaker on the lead. So, the number of Monitor Speakers this praise team has is quite large. Besides, the monitor speaker is not a speaker that is set for a certain volume, but the speaker on the keyboard side is very large. That means the inch is large. Driving a large speaker is a bit of a miss matching. That was the situation Also, because the finish itself is made of brick, there are too many sounds of reverberations hitting this sound. As a result, it is said that the sound of the main speaker is greatly affected. Because there are so many monitor speakers, the sound becomes a distraction from the main speakers. The cause was simple, then the only way to solve the problem was to reduce the number of monitor speakers somehow. Well, even if it's not for the singer, I personally thought that the best solution would be to do In Ear for the Session side. If that is the case, it would be great to use a P16 like this in the case of commonly used In Ear and connect a separate small digital mixer to use it, but if you try to do that, the economic burden is too great. So what I came up with was to find a way to provide In Ear in addition to the low cost Session side. Now, let me share with you how. Now, what happened is that I bought two pieces of equipment like the picture you see now. The first is a small mixer. I chose this model called XR18. Second, I bought two 8ch Headphone Amps. Just buy two and you're all set. Now, let me explain why I bought it. In the case of XR18, if there is any function, it has Access Point function. What it means is that there is not only one Remote, but several are possible. Now, in the case of this equipment, some say it is 4 and some say it is 5, but I have no problem connecting up to 4 at all. So I don't know for sure because I haven't tried up to 5 yet, but anyway, the Access Point function has the advantage of being able to control several mixers at the same time with a cell phone or iPad with multiple terminals. The reason I decided on the second Headphone Amp is that I usually use the output of the mixer as the output of the AUX and connect it. In that case, I'll talk about how to connect it later, but it's usually going to be a Mono Channel input. Then, when Mono Channel input is input, if we use In Ear, which we used to do with Headphones, now we have to receive it in Stereo. That's why if you connect normal AUX to only one channel, you will hear it only from one side. So, I needed this Headphone Amp as it is now in order to be able to hear both sides of the Headphone and the In Ear on both sides. Well, you can do some simple cable work, but it's not that expensive to have a headset like that. If you buy that cheaply, all problems will be solved, and you can adjust the volume individually. I'll give you a brief explanation of how to connect, and it's simple. The Left and Right Main Outputs are the Mixer Mixer in the FOH that uses a Midas M32, so you just need to send it there. To do that, it is a long way, so if you use a separate DI box and put the Left and Right Outputs through the DI box to the Channel on the FOH side, the Mixer Output on the Session side goes up to the FOH. The second is about input, it's simple. You just need to get all the input from the Session side. Keybord1,2, then Electric Guitar1,2 and then Bass, Drum. Well, in this way, in the case of a drum, all the mics connected to Overhead, Kick, Snare, and Tom are all connected to the XR18. In the case of this product, it is not a problem at all because up to 18 channels can be input. If you need to add one more thing, you have to put Click. Normally, in the case of a drummer, the drummer will do the work of matching this beat. The drummer decides how many bpm to use and plays a role in providing it to each session. This means that now you just have to grab the input. You mentioned that XR18 outputs are AUX 1 to 6 this time. In front, the Left and Right Main Outputs are of course raised to FOH, so there are AUX Outputs 1 to 6 that we can use, and we provide each AUX to each person and an In Ear to each person on the Session side. Then, of course, AUX #1 will be connected to Keyboard 1. In order to connect to Keyboard 1, put AUX #1 into Headphone Amp Channel #1. After putting it in the Direct input, it goes through the Headphone Amp and the output is of course connected to the In Ear or Headphone. AUX No. 2 can be connected to Keyboard 2 in the same way. AUX No. 3 and 4 are connected like Electric Guitar 1,2. After that, AUX 5 is Bass AUX 6 is Drum If you connect it like this, you can cover all sessions. Then, how to control it, you can now get the app. Actually, because Access Point is possible, multiplayer is possible. It has the advantage of being able to connect to multiple mobile phones or iPads and use them at the same time. If so, what should be done is that in the case of the main keyboard, it is the session leader. If the session leader says the main keyboard, the friend will do the work to some extent. After that, each individual also connects and the person whose own AUX is connected to #1. is that if you adjust the input channel connected to AUX #1, you can have your own AUX #1 In Ear. The same goes for the bass and the drums, so each will be done individually. One more main leader's voice, you have to put it back in. So, how to insert the main guide sound, you can make a cable that acts as a splitter that divides the microphone input into two places. So, one goes to the XR18 and the other goes to the Main FOH, and you can work like this. Now, how to operate the operation this time, each person in each Session will control it through their mobile phone or iPad. That said, from the perspective of the FOH Engineer, it is necessary to be able to control the sound coming from the L and R, not the sound on the monitor side. So, like this video you see now, of course, you have to control from among the sounds uploaded from the FOH, so you have to make a remote connection that connects to the XR18 separately. While adjusting the connected sound, the Session side does not touch much once it is set to a certain extent. Why is it that sometimes, in the case of Electric Guitar or Bass, it needs to be adjusted when it jumps out as a Solo, but in other cases, I rarely use it. Depending on the need from time to time, even in the case of String
Each time the layer changes, the sound may have a slightly different volume. That's the only thing you can control. Now, if that is the case, the sound from the main speaker can be heard with sufficient volume and clear sound quality because all the dirty sounds are neatly organized through the monitor speakers. Today's story has provided you with tips that can maximize the effect while reducing your financial burden. It's a bit difficult for me to answer your questions one by one, but after thinking through the questions you gave me, if there is a good solution, I will often take the time to share it with you through a video.
