Folks, we have a major
incident drill tonight from 03:00 to 06:00. The North Runway will be closed for
three hours. Those who have signed up for the drill should try to get some rest after
you get off work. Don't fall asleep during the drill. Right! The Airport is running 24 hours a day. Even during the drill, flights are operating as usual. You must hold your ground, understand? Yes! Get to work!
Yes! You want to say something? Yes! This is my first drill of this scale. I want to know more details. Our job on the airfield is not rescue work. We only provide the space so the drill and proceed smoothly and maintain normal operation
of the airport. I know that. I'm asking about this year's theme. Plane crash? Engine fire? Or a hostage situation held by terrorists? Nothing so dramatic. Just a chemical leak. There's no need for all these questions. Just do the work I arranged for you. OK! No more questions. Yes! The Hong Kong International Airport
conducts an annual major incident drill, that involves over 1,000 representatives from different government departments
and organizations. Tonight at 03:00, the first major incident drill of 2024
will kick off. It's almost time. Activate the AEC (Airport Emergency Center). Brother Wai! What's the status of the runway? Metro Harbour flight KW5679 during its landing on 25R, the engine collided with the runway and led to a chemical leak on board. How many people are on board KW5679? The crew and 163 passengers. Sealed off 25R and start
the rescue operation. Copy that! As stipulated by The International
Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), all airports must conduct an emergency
response drill every other year. But we're different. We conduct the drill annually. Even during COVID,
we never stopped conducting the drill. Each year, during the Airport's
major incident drill, the airlines will take turns to participate. Since joining Metro Harbour, this is my second drill... Folks, please evacuate one by one... Are you OK, Miss? I have chest pains. Don't worry. Medical staff and the Fire Services
will help you get off the plane. I remember a reporter once asked our Chairman a question, whether it's worth utilizing such
manpower and resources, and sealing off a runway for several hours to tackle a simulated disaster. I remember our Chairman's answer was "yes". I remember Mr. Sung said in one of his interviews the annual drill is worth conducting. No airport in the world can guarantee their airport is accident-free. Only a well-prepared airport can prevent an accident from becoming
a disaster. According to our initial investigation, today at 03:00, Metro Harbour flight KW5679,
with 163 passengers on board, had a malfunctioned landing gear
during landing and caused the engine to collide
with the runway and resulted in a fire. We also suspect a chemical leak
inside the cabin. Air Traffic Control Tower personnel activated the crash alarm, and the Airport Fire Contingent deployed 11 ambulances and 19 fire engines to the scene. All passengers and crew members
were rescued. Among the 14 injured passengers, one was critical. All injured passengers have been
transported to the North Lantau Hospital for further treatment. The Fire Services also utilized the latest
decontamination equipment to disinfect and care for the wounded. The fire engines and ambulances are gone. Looks like the drill is almost over. Don't just focus on the drill. The airport is still running. A plane will park at Gate 50 later. Get some rest and drive. Yes, Sir! Here's the food... Thanks... Thank you. This is the only egg sandwich. Here... Thanks. Kit is so sweet. Hint, hint... Hint, hint...do something. I'll get you an egg sandwich. I'm just kidding. I'm hungry. Anything will do. Brother Henry...
Hey... More sugar, less milk. I put in sweetener.
Great! See if you like it. Let me try. Close enough. Next time, less milk. What? I barely put it in. Look at the way On treats the Boss. Absolute obedience and no complaints. And you? I only asked you to pay bills
and make coffee. You're a pain in the neck. Hey, I want it black. You added milk. Here, take mine. Get off her case. If you don't like it, get another one. It's not my job to remember
what you like to drink, Mr. Yeung. Bravo! You have guts! I told you to work for me. You won't have to make my coffee or pay my utility bills. Or you can work for me. The best thing about our area, the guys outnumber the ladies. You won't have much work to do,
and will still get paid. That's right. I'll do all your work. Hey, Metro Harbour is hiring too. You'll look sharp in our uniform. No one would complain. That's right, Chloe. It isn't everyday we can fly together. Thanks for your support. I will seriously think about my future, and inform HR right away. You should think about your future too. Without her, you're in big trouble. She wants independence!
Her wings are full and wants to fly. If she doesn't leave, she won't
appreciate the IAC. Hi, fancy seeing you all. Hey! Brother Kit! Brother Henry! Long time no see. Right! Since my transfer back to Hong Kong,
I finally run into you two. You're looking good after all these years. Karmen, you haven't changed much. Still fit as a fiddle. I haven't seen you since Wai got married. How are you? Are you married? Karmen must have a lot of suitors. No, I don't. That's why I asked for the transfer, to see if I'll stand a better chance. Karmen, are you in a hurry? Would you like to sit and eat with us? She's in a hurry. Brown has early flights. Yes, I'm off to Japan. I just came to grab a sandwich. Don't bother to queue up.
I have one here I haven't touched. You may go. Thank you. You are... That's my sister I told you about.
Remember? Just call me Sister Wing. I'm Chloe, the MT at the IAC. Hi, I'm Kwan Yu-on. Everyone calls me On.
I'm an airfield trainee. Hello, I'm Karmen Ko, a flight attendant at Brown. Wai, you're so lucky you have
so many friends at the airport. After all these years, you're still so messy when you eat.
