From the chuck design, we can divide these drill bits into three types: one is this round shank, one is this hexagonal shank , and the other is this four-hook type. Some people also call it SDS. Let's take a look at what's different about it. This one has a round handle. This one taken out from here has a hexagonal handle. Taken out of this box, this one has four hooks. The round handle taken out from this place is the handle connected to the machine. It is completely round. This handle can only be used on electric drills with three-jaw chucks. The round handle cannot be used. The hexagonal handle installed on an impact driver like this one. The part connecting the handle is a hexagonal design. The hexagonal design can be used on electric drills with three-jaw chucks . Then you can take a closer look at it. In addition to the hexagonal one, this one also has a concave design in the middle, which is a bit like the screwdriver head used by our general impact driver. So this kind of hexagonal handle can also be used in our impact driver . Now let’s take a look at this kind of The four-hook design cannot be installed on these two types of machines. The three-claw design cannot be used on either impact driver or the hexagonal head.

For those of you who are drilling wood between the two types , you can also take a look at the differences between the two. Both have a pointed needle- like thing in the middle for positioning, but the design of the needle is different. The following one The root is just like a needle , but the one above is not only like a needle, it also has a threaded design on it, which is a bit like the tip of a screw. There is no thread on the bottom, and it simply allows you to use the strap above for positioning. The thread design allows you to save more effort when drilling wood. But please pay attention here. If you want to use this kind of thread, you must use it with a hand drill with forward and reverse rotation. This type is not suitable. It is used in the drill floor because when you drill forward, this thread can help you save effort and tap downward. If you are not drilling a through hole, this thread will make you want to pull it out when you drill halfway. You can't pull it out. You have to turn the electric drill to the reverse direction to pull the drill bit out, so it's not suitable for use on tools such as drill tables. The following ones have pointed heads but no threads, so there is no such restriction. We also noticed here that the handle of the one on the right is a hexagonal handle. The one on the left is a round handle, so the one on the left can only be used on a three-claw electric drill. The one on the right can be used on both an impact driver and a three-claw electric drill. It can be used , so when you buy it, if you will use it on an impact driver, it is recommended that you buy this kind of hexagonal handle design. These three types here are all wood drill bits. The difference is that if you want to drill smaller holes You can use this type of drill. If you want to drill a larger hole, you can use this type of drill bit. It is called a flat drill. You see, it also has a needle design in the middle, so it is also used to drill wood, not metal.
But its size is generally about 3 centimeters. The general size is about ten millimeters or more than one centimeter.
If you want to drill a larger round hole, you must use this round hole drill bit . Comparing the two types, the efficiency of this kind of flat drill will be higher. The efficiency of this type is the lowest and the most difficult to drill. It requires a relatively large torque . Now let’s take a look at the drill bit design for drilling cement. The first two are not the same. This one is a metal drill bit that can also drill wood. This one is a special drill bit for wood. There is a needle in the front. This one is a cement drill bit. It looks a bit like a metal drill bit , but it has two more wings on the side. The design of these two wings is mainly for chip removal , because when we drill into walls or cement, a lot of dust will be produced. He needs these two wings to expel the dust from the hole . The three here are drill bits for drilling cement. You can notice that the three specifications of his handles all have four SDS-type drill bits. The hook like this one has a round handle, the one like this has a hexagonal handle, so when buying it, it must match your machine . So why would I buy this kind of hexagonal handle? Because sometimes we use high tension. For the screw, we only need to install a small hole, about 3.2mm, and then we can use high-tension screws to lock it with an impact stone remover. In that case, if I buy this kind of hexagonal handle drill tail, I just need to bring it. An impact stone drill is just fine. My personal experience is that a small three-jaw vibrating electric drill is more suitable for drilling holes below 6.5mm. Based on my personal usage habits, I can only drill using an impact driver or a vibrating electric drill. If I want to drill a hole of about 3mm to more than 5 or 6 mm above the plastic gecko , I will use this four-hook touch-free electric drill to drill because the efficiency is really very different. Finally, let’s take a look. I have several special drill bits here. This one is a glass drill bit . It can be used mainly for drilling ceramic tiles. Its design is also quite different. It has a bit like the arrowhead of a bow and arrow. This drill bit I It is mainly used to drill the tiles on the wall. After drilling through the tiles, you still need to change the cement drill bit to drill the concrete behind. This drill bit is designed for the mounting holes of West German anklets. I have a video about West German anklets before. We call this kind of drill bit a salad knife, and some people call it a hole drill bit. Its design is to install a metal drill bit in the middle, which can hold a metal drill bit of about 2.8-3.2mm. Its main use is that sometimes we want to remove the screw head. After burying it in the wood, we can use this kind of salad knife to pre-drill a hole. When installing the hole , the drill bit in the front section of 3 meters is mainly to pre-install a hole first so that the screw can be better locked in. The outside of it The ring is also a knife. When you drill, it will drill an 8mm hole . The head of a general wood screw is smaller than 8mm,
so you can lock the entire screw into the wood . Then you can also use another Take the cork drill bit. Take an 8mm cork and cover it on the hole. You won't be able to see the screw head. It will look more beautiful. This group is the original hole drill bit. There will be various different sizes of original hole drills . This kind of drill bit is mainly used to drill wood. Generally, there is a round hole in the doorknob of our room, which is drilled with this raw blood drill bit. If you want to use a hand electric drill with this round hole drill bit, the drill will be larger. It is recommended that you use a hand drill with a relatively large torque
because if the torque is not high enough, the drill bit will often get caught in the wood and it will not be easy to drill. I also have a drill bit like this here , which is generally called a silver hole drill bit. It can drill wood but not iron . Its purpose is mainly to pre-drill a hole in the wood before you lock the screw , because sometimes we need to lock the screw to solid wood , sometimes because it is too close to the side or due to the characteristics of the wood. If we are afraid that the wood will crack, then we need to pre-drill a hole. This is a drill bit specially designed for pilot holes. It is a bit thinner, about 2.8mm. If you don’t buy this kind of pilot drill bit, you can also use a metal one. Drill bits of about 2.8 to 3.2mm can be used. If you use 2.8, your screws will be locked tighter.
