Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
I have watched so many videos of chef Yukimura Motokichi make omurice but I've never seen him do the move at 5:43 until now! Absolutely amazing.
This was the last thing i needed to see whilst starving at 10pm.
I literally had Kichi Kichi two days ago in Kyoto! Still done exactly as the video.
Omurice always looks good to me until they drown the finished omelette in a gallon of sauce.
Easily the best video I’ve seen on this sub. The slice open is just beautiful.
I've had a Hawaiian version of this dish called Loco Moco. If it's close to omurice, then omurice is as good as it looks.

Right.
I'm off to Kyoto next week and will DEFINITELY be checking Kichi Kichi out.
[edit] And it's less than 1km from my hotel!
I need to know what those brown sauces are! One goes in with the rice and the other on top of the egg.
I'm guessing a demi glacé?
I always dislike the amount of sauce put on after the knife cut everytime I see this video. Like maybe a little bit of the extra sauce on top but even my most favorite sauces, I don't like my food to be sopping in it. Still looks good to try regardless.
