we are about to Embark upon episode what four yeah of singer 2024 and we have Flo in first chair Jay in second chair and today we have kayle who is a rapper singer songwriter and crazy metal vocalist not crazy I added that because you know how I feel about Metal but let's get in Jay do we have volume is this my guy it's yellow what the is he wearing this is so good though this is the third time we've seen him in a completely different style yet again I just want to recap that he has basically a shower cap with tassels coming off of it a suit jacket mom shorts a belt from 1994 and some sort of like rain boots with a thick heel on them yeah yeah yeah platform I am here for this hat for my cat the other day the exact same crocheted hat oh it's crocheted pardon me good call it is a crocheted hat to keep his head warm oh and the sunglasses yeah does he always wear sunglasses that's his Jam hey he didn't last time he did a really slow song Last yes again ding up yes is this a cover anybody knows we know that guy oh yeah yeah yeah yeah Sun I I remember him yes yes yes uh this is J house song Oh but is it done like did he switch it up and make his style different it was it was like almost like a country Vibe right was like Western Vibe no it's it's talking about like a western story like like almost like picture during the desert in America okay like the name of the song is called like Indiana Duff uh turtle dove it it's it's it's kind of Indiana turtle dove something like that yeah it's the oh you're getting yelled at for sure sure no seriously for sure name that is the called streptopelia what what stellia that's the actual name of the bird biology great great we bringing the bio to the show always going to play some guitar oh with a with a sweet tone like I'm here for him I love him out of curiosity can anybody reflect back to me how he's being re deed like are people loving him are people like discovering him and realizing how cool he is from this show defitely and people who always been fans they're so appreciative and happy that he's finally getting some exposure getting some big exposure yeah he's really neat yes fy's face is always the best like yeah [Applause] Kaye these vocals how aggressive he's getting is just pushing on the ceiling of how aggressive I like vocals it's getting a little I'm Still Loving it but I don't I don't work with a lot of metal people okay do do you want to very very I'm going to roll over here a little do you want to show us some metal is met wow [Applause] [Applause] [Music] you know what I appreciate this is the third performance this is a third different vibe we've seen from him and they are completely different Vibes but the the cool thing about him as an artist is we see the through line three different Vibes but we feel the through line in his Artistry in his vocal stylings his yodels his you know register breaks his I don't know I don't think sexiness yes the sexiness is definitely a through line the way he moves uh but the way he uses his voice artistically has a through line no matter what genre he shows up in his styling too you know how I mentioned how like the things you wear a lot of Asian people cannot pull it off all pulling it off means is being unabashed right if I want to wear this watermelon I wear it I put on a straight face I feel good about my watermelon and I go out the door and that's him too in his swashbuckling uh mom shorts and his crocheted kitten hat we're loving [Music] it actually quite like how he moves it's not like a K-pop artist that's like you know super choreographed Perfection but he moves like he's in his body which is sexy it's super sexy yeah yeah yes yes yes yes yes yeah is he done y oh I love him mhm I love him I love him yeah this is the Mongolian [Music] [Applause] [Music] what is that it's throat singing is it throat singing can you do it I can't oh that's kind of cool I know like they use the tongue to sh yeah he's like oh the shape yeah like in a very slow way we are not winning a Grammy for [Music] this does that guy usually sing that's different than the guy I think they two two people oh I'm used to the other guy more I I recognize the other guy more [Music] you heard this song before I [Music] have do you think he sounds like Sting Asian sting yes yes yes a bit a bit you remember me like that Pinchy thing yeah [Music] oh Focus what look at how focused he is oh yeah I [Music] mean yeah exactly that's right pretty much yeah that guy I love that guy for what it's worth that guy the guy in the Hat I this band isn't really about Precision right it's more about the the vibe and the techniques and the the instruments uh but I would say he's he's the more accurate of the singers I think that's why he stands out to me okay he uses yeah I think he's more accurate just like pitch-wise stability wise but but I realized that's not the point kind [Music] of yeah I like [Music] him and he's a character hey [Music] [Music] [Music] see Pitch Pitch he's the less stable pitch guy he but this he brings this texture I think this when when we want this it's always [Music] him but that being said it's it is considering this is live I think I'm getting used to being now like quite hard on it even though it's live considering this is live that is a very normal and reasonable amount of deviation yeah but but I just know that guy is more [Music] [Laughter] stable oh [Music] so my dad keeps bringing up this band yeah yeah why cuz he loves it oh wow yeah this is his favorite cool interesting very interesting I like that the guy talking in the background I like that this kind of like a rap yeah yeah like yeah you know this is like metal B do this too right do what sometimes talk in the background or what someone in the back like like something yeah but would the would the back vocal be the like scary gritty metally vocal or would that be the one out front that that depends on band absolutely I'm afraid of all of [Music] it m that's how you nice for sir [Music] yeah okay the song name is called wolf what wolf wolf oh song name is cotton wolf got it got it the vocals are actually quite adventurous this week in this band they're all doing quite a lot of interesting things I feel like this guy be a hoot to grab a tea with [Music] [Music] yeah beautiful Bo [Music] he's cool hey he'll go from a clean vocal and he'll shimmy in the grit he'll be like yeah he pulls it [Applause] in this guy we [Music] get I like him yeah he's actually a pretty great singer oh he would be okay this is this is a wild um ask but I'd like to hear him sing something that would be considered like pop or something I don't think he will ever do that he won't he won't but he sure could he sure could his his stuff is very transferable and he's very pliable he's very adventurous invisible Wings invisible wings is that a metal song no it's not well I just think he's wild and raw I like [Music] him sting slightly under sting [Music] feel awesome I like these guys and they're really bringing it really entertaining yeah Paparazzi yes really okay I'm super curious what she's going to do with this because the original is a dance pop song right yes so the vocals of this are super they're not even really that sung Papa Papa like there's not a lot what will she do I don't know do you know this song yeah heard it before I love the gogs we are the crow coming out my on true that picture of you it's so magical we'd be so fantastical cool jeez and jeans glamorous oh this really works flash cuz you know that baby I'm your biggest fan I'll follow you you love me Po papazzi baby there's no other Superstar you know that I'll be prop promise I'll be kind but I mine what just saying I got it okay can't yell got it can't yell at me just try to think how she's going to unleash in this song ROP and yeah cuz my rockar in between the sets eyeliner and nice low range cett it's down there danceing turn my lashes are dry purple tear drops I cry don't have a price loing you is cherry pie cuz you know that baby I'm so her style is that register change on the high notes she also belts really beautiful but the more I've kind of explored of her that is her signature is kind of floating up y see baby there's no other Superstar you know that I'll be you papa promise I'll be kind but I won't stop until baby you m me I'll she did really make this hers yeah really really this is not like some some YouTube random cover she she really went [Music] there oh really okay I'm biggest I'll Follow You Until You Love meaa see baby there's no other super that but [Music] I you'll be chase you down me beautiful [Music] [Laughter] beautiful beautiful a she's happy with it see look at it she should be yeah she should be I feel like she is such a skilled vocalist she's a high belter she's a mad riffer she's and to be honest doing those yodels or register ch es they are a mindset you have to really get in that mindset to to be in tune when you flip up yes I don't know I sometimes when I see when I've been watching her on this show she's so flipp and talented that I every time the song is over I feel like Oh I thought it would go further which is ridiculous which is ridiculous want more yeah yeah yeah who this oh that's familiar is it the kid oh I forgot about him yeah it's the kid he's wearing wearing anymore he's wearing he's wearing a jean jacket that's bedazzled it is very Circa 1997 why is he wearing headphones that's really weird yeah like I've never seen a performer that's so funny we were just talking about how yeah this is gorgeous though [Music] M sorry sorry was this the Dancy guy yeah yeah in the last one [Music] [Music] who are his fans what no no no no I just mean like what age are they what what age are they younger kids younger than uh user than us probably like 20s or you know I would imagine early 20s maybe the younger yeah okay yeah is he young I know we've had this talk is he 35ish I think around he's over 30 I feel like here in the west 20s somethings and younger like 16y olds to 20y olds wouldn't like someone that much older than them I know that seems like silly he looks like a kid I know but listen to the song the song sounds more adult contemporary to me like I don't 16 to 20y olds I don't know would like this style here which is a possibly not an apt comparison but [Music] [Music] [Music] does anybody love it love it I'm okay you're you're okay okay love songs I keep wanting to find some vocal thing that makes my heart flutter and I'm I haven't gotten there yet M me that's fair [Music] but I want to say one more thing I think that because the show's been a lot of fun to watch and we have artists from West and East and there's a lot of skilled artists skilled vocalists but I feel like if I was shown him out of the context of this show I feel like I might be more favorable towards him because of the context of this show like look what we just saw we just saw FIA all the things we saw yellow dancing is crocheted awesome with the vocal and the interesting and the tones and the stuff but I do think that this gentleman sorry what's his name silence silence I think that this gentleman has a reasonably nice tone and I'm not um sugar coating anything I'm being dead serious when I really think back to all of you know the body of artists that we've looked at it is a it is a speech-like tone yeah but for whatever reason I want something else like him to do something with it but that doesn't you know his style is his style his songw writing is his songwriting his Artistry is his Artistry but his tone is nice [Music] oh yeah he's the one that doesn't use a lot of a yeah [Music] fore for [Music] feels did they just punch up his vocals what do you mean his vocals just got louder oh I think this say his best performance I think so too I I think he's more accurate this performance he is more accurate is he monitoring is that what that those headphones course right it would be instead of these yeah so maybe that's the biggest I don't know why he chose this I don't know if he did it to make it look like he was like at home at his desk or something I'm not sure what why he chose that but I think this is his best vocal performance more stable most stable but and most technique being used like most interesting things I guess and I think this is a different song like is it two songs in one mhm cuz this is a different song this is a Stephanie s yeah it's Stephanie son or something like that okay oh that's interesting because it just when it switched it got busier like it got more more interesting this song the original artist is like is so that makes sense from what you said Jay his writing style is a little bit more clean lines yeah and then he added this cover song in which probably if I remember her has a little bit more going on right that's interesting cuz his song is also called tin interesting oh maybe that's why he did it to kind of like play with that two songs with the same name and same he's playing he's playing that's him though I think he his strength is songwriting production and playing around with song oh yeah yeah he's flexing yeah what he can yeah skills outside of vocals yeah yeah yeah is he known as a brilliant vocalist exciting vocalist he was so what his thing is more just the songw writing is that what he's yellow is backstage goofing around I can interesting like I do that all the time [Applause] [Music] [Music] this is the most he's done vocally by a long long long shot I'm almost certain of it in agility and uh boldness yeah range yeah you know what I think I love that he's sitting because that is allowing him in song choice and in attack that is partially what's allowing him to do more stuff it's always what I say if you if a if a singer or an artist insists on working in dancing it will limit the amount of technique and accuracy you can have I'm going to take a wild guess this is where he is most comfortable because he creates like that at home or inside of a studio he would be sitting down recording a track instead of standing and performing with body movement I think he's more of a recording artist than a live performer but I think he's done a good job for what he does but that seems apt what you [Applause] said that's nice to see yeah [Music] yeah do you think he fancies himself like the his lyrics are his thing that he takes the most seriously I'm not sure if you wrote lyrics too but he definitely imposes yeah I think this was his best performance this yeah good job is this Tik Tok guy no he was eliminated oh who was eliminated guy was eliminated oh oh only him and the monkey taming band was eliminated oh yes well yeah so those two were amazing yes well actually [Music] [Music] yeah love her outfit she a stylish lady [Music] the pitch well it's her quite yeah I I'm sorry I do like the song a lot I've heard it um been been covered and so far not my favorite cover song that it's a very classic song that it stands out if it's not yeah I don't I'm not loving it distracting yeah not loving it [Music] I feel so you two are harder on her than I am it's just it sounds are you trying to be nice are you trying to bece not YouTube she even her it just like Mom singing Our Song yes not you can't say like this no oh really I think there's two things happening I think one is you all have an attachment to this song an expectation and an attachment to the song Two I what I find with her is that she has a great tone great personal style as an artist but she generally this is her this is what it always this is what she is so I I don't know like I it feel like she's not try hard enough yeah it's like missing detail she's missing detail but she's she's going to put in her own detail I think I hope so I think her strong suit is her belty Mixie upper stuff that is where I find she has the most interesting tone but I've never found her to be a highly super accurate generally like this is kind of what it she is yeah you know what I mean yeah yeah I agree with you she's never been super ACC love this song just not the song not song okay sorry let's continue we're all mad at the song Sorry [Music] [Music] for I can feel I can feel you guys squishing in here room is not good now so you don't like her song choice you think it was not not she makes it sound old I know it's old song but this now sounds like an older song even yeah I think it's what you said it's like your mom singing a song that you that you when they don't really understand but they trying to trying hard to be your friend do you remember how jch did it no no was so the stylization is dated it was supposed to be more R&B more like you need to do a comparison of song okay okay now it's like yeah yeah and then you can hear the transition you know um and it goes up and then he uses falsettos and he comes back down like it's just okay so if I knew the song more maybe I would be more sad about it may for [Music] [Music] that's that that sound is her strong suit for me that is yes that tone [Music] I actually don't really think she's any more unstable than she ever like this seems really normal for for her I think that I think the song is what's bugging you [Music] guys but it is it is a simple attack kind of what you what you demonstrated it is a bit of a simple attack too much staccato like it's supposed to be not even just Stato there's not a lot of um Scoops I would say Scoops and like Joiner notes yeah all the Grace notes they were gone yeah well you know what this is actually a very similar delivery to to silence she's older yeah than him so does it sound a little older maybe y'all are hard on her this [Music] week it is a little schaly like listen it's not the right choice like dude it just got really schaly a little bit little bit little bit little bit as well start doing this [Music] [Applause] [Music] yeah she's she's taking out all the Scoops I mean right now she's kind of trying to do this busted broken down moment so this might not be the the right place to to look at it but I think that's what you you guys are missing all the joint you know what this reminds me of when someone sang Whitney and you're like I know the song inside out and you're missing all these things does not sound the same [Music] curiosity what do you think what do you guys think is her strength do you like her cuz my understanding is that she is like a treasure I love her tone I admit and those high notes that she does very well but is she that good I don't see that all the time I think this show really exposed her yeah I I think this show really exposed her life ability yes I like when she's powerful I like her power but she that's what I think is her strength is nice the song is a helpless song but I feel like she tries to be fragile she tries to go fragile and then her pitch is a mess but I think that there's other songs other singers we've reviewed that have this amount of pitch deviation that none of you would be winging this much about and I think it's because of your attachment for example silence but he's not hailed as the vocalist uh you know represent silence comes to mind but she is so everyone thinks she's so amazing she's so great and she's one of the best vo in China she almost like overrated yeah overrated is what it is it's for us too much expectations yeah yeah like we wouldn't expect silence to be a super you know strong vocalist to begin with but we do expect her to sing very well I think my expectations of her are different than your expectations of her we already have attachment you have attachment and also I've never viewed her as a Seline Dion personally I've always thought like oh she's got a nice tone and she seems really well respected yeah so my lens yeah is is is a different expectation so I think when you are like looking at me like is she trying to be too nice about it it's not that it's that my expectation is okay that's fair you know it's uh it's what it is it's what it is [Music] [Applause] what I'm waiting for it [Music] climax what I hate it what do you hate I hate it what what what do you hate that's that's supposed to be the best part of the song right for the audience Jay's face is very red right now I want to hear it again [Applause] is this a key chain yes a key [Music] change I mean honestly you guys this is what this is her style this is what she does when she does songs and I think that you don't want it done to this song but this is what she does to songs I have no I have no big issues with that high note but I'll let Jay talk about it you don't remember you don't remember how jch did it Jay the song Once J's going to supposed to be watching oh it's riffy it's yeah it's riffy yeah so she she straightened it right out before that note even J leads up to it it's a continuous line watching missed that last all I'm saying to you is this this singer this is what she does and it's it's I think what's it's funny to me because to you I think I'm looking like I'm being too nice and to me I'm like what is wrong with you guys this is what she always does why is this suddenly such a you know why do why are you making such sour faces when this is very very similar to what she usually does you guys have a different expectation of the song not the artist she's changing parts of the song that we love yeah yes yes and I relate to that I'm just trying to explain to you that I'm not trying to like log soft balls at her it's just watch she always does is [Music] [Applause] this what is wrong with you guys so weak that sounds so weak yeah you know what here's another thing she has one um she only has um let's say you're driving she only has third gear and there's like the same gear throughout the summer what I usually sound like but no cuz this is ridiculous no but it's she just not like there's no contrast you know that's what we love from the original I guess this part is supposed to be very emotional yeah exposive fifth gear right there or six you guys have some serious attachment to this song my God she's not belting hard enough she's fine there not enough ju it's normal not enough juice okay so what would you like to hear her sing she you're supposed to like be more powerful I don't know so so what uh what song would you like her to sing guys what I'm and I'm being serious is there a genre change is there different artist you'd like her to cover what why is this so strong of a reaction what would you like her to do I get it this is to she's making this sound old she's dating herself and the song what do you want her to sing I don't I can't you know mix it up and see what the kids are doing we're so mean holy hell I feel sorry where's my halo Man I'm The Angel today can't help it I thought it was fine so as you can see I'm not uh rolling out the red carpet but I thought it was fine okay okay yeah yeah I I agree she's not any worse than or better than like it's pretty consistent performance but you know what it's been interesting to observe you two because this must be how it feels when we are watching a Whitney Houston song and someone takes one slight left turn and I'm like oh what's that that does not belong there that's essentially what I just experienced in this room because I don't know the song I'm like seems okay I don't I remember that one time when you did that and me and you were like what that's perfectly fine yeah this whole time I'm like what are we even talking about here it's not okay okay the consensus of the room is we didn't love it I thought it was fine no sorry okay okay onward hosel oh we're still going is this emotional enough for you yet you guys were awful I know what my top what my top bottom this is your bottom actually hold on this might be my bottom so far hold on a sec hold on PR silence over think about this for a second yeah gave the best performance so far out of what he's done in my opinion I really like this one a lot I'd say I guess for the bottom onwards I recognize this oh yes is this Shante I don't know must be oh this is interesting this is like a lady who's not as young as the original artist but taking on a youthful song let's see let's see guys how it feels ner she's she's older than I you she's like 57 well I first of all this is a really surprising song choice for her seeing as we we know she's got this chocolatey tone she loves the actually Miley Cyrus has a low some low stuff too but not but tonally she's got darker tone uh so interesting song choice but really interesting after the difficulty you guys all had with that this is a a less young artist singing a younger artist song so I might be putting on your hat let's let's see okay but I do love shantee and I do think the song is extremely well written so ah here we go a heart in pain never asking why we kissed I fell love good SP love no one could deny I need this outfit I need this outfit I will always want you I can't live a running for my life I will always want you I came in like a I never hit so hard in love all I wanted was to break your all you ever did was me you thoughts you I love it you love it you don't like it do you well oh let's talk about this this is powerful I love it yep I think it's well sung and I don't think I I'm not having the same kind of reaction that you guys had but I think I'm also having a an internal I am a singy singer her and I are not the same the same per se but both of us are busier than uh than some singers and we both have more strong vbr than some singers so I think what this is bringing out in me is it's actually a little hard to look at in that what what you addressed I think you were kind of saying like it sounds like my mom like singing this you know I relate I I'm gonna have to pull this song out myself and see what I would do no I mean God bless all of our moms but uh we don't need them to sing Miley necessarily but I think that she's singing this more than just more of a br there's more going on more techniques more more techniques actually I'm glad you said that this is an instance where and again I I'm kind of oh God sometimes I see myself in it because sometimes we can over technique something and I think the younger more youthful songs I can't necessarily speak for China But Here Right Now what's trending with younger singers is less busy less vbr less deep vbr less less stuff so she's making it old for you she is she is but but the there's another layer to it I relate to her oh and so I'm seeing I'm like I don't oh is this what I'm am I making it old I'm probably making it old oh God if you cover it yeah well I don't know what I'll I mean her and I are not the same we we're not the same but I'm curious to hear how what you would do s I would love to hold on I came in like a wrecking but I have to be extremely conscious of not letting my vbr cuz if I let my vbr I came in like a wrecking B right I get that thick vbr too but and my ear recognizes what is Trend and I know that Trend would be less and more tucked in you're also like way younger than she is I mean yeah but but I just to be clear there's not I think the difference between how you guys were reacting to the last song in this one is I think her technique is fabulous yeah and I think that this if we didn't if I didn't know the original there'd be nothing to anything and so because we know the songs as you did the last one and I know this one oh we all know this one it's hard not to go oh this does feel different or older or this this is what you know this isn't what like a cool Young singer would do with it but you don't that's not the only way to appreciate or love a song is what would a cool Young singer do but we do have expectations and associations but she is a great singer and I I'm pretty sure she could sing the phone book and I I think that you couldn't complain personally yeah but does it feel less youthful yes would I possibly do the same thing to it probably my own version of less youthful sometimes it's like the the hard you try to be youthful and cool the less youthful and cool it is okay I I I I I I I like yeah yeah but I get it like I relate to trying to put the Melodies that you grew up with right she grew up with Whitney she grew up with all that stuff how do you put that in a song that The Melodies are simply written more straight more simple so how do artists like her and I you know if I could be so bold is to put her and I in a together somewhere okay how do we bring our Artistry our emotion our life our into a song without using those things that we know that we learned our emotion that we learned so that's what we bring whereas today you bring straightness you don't you know sometimes when I'm in studio of the producer will be like could you be one particular producer always says could you be a little less singery and when he says I automatically know that he wants the phrase shorter he wants less vbr he doesn't want me Selen deing holding the phrase forever because that's not what Young singers are doing is it wrong no but is it does it sound less today yes slow Turn You Let Me Burn now ashes on the ground I love that don't you ever say I just walked away I will always want you I rning for my life oh God it's the same thing that just happened to you guys great but her technique is is great it's great that's the difference that she's making this heart the way she's singing it is harder than the original it is it is it is and that's why it doesn't want that it doesn't want that but but but again but what we experienced me and J and then and yeah it's different the opposite yeah she simplified she simplified easier to say the and but like I say my additional layer to this is that I relate to shant more and it's hard it's like looking directly into the sun of your own balls like oh God because how do I make a song exciting if not these things too cuz that's her I mean we don't have the same tool kit but we reach to a similar to similar artists in similar eras and similar techniques so watching it is like I will always want you I [Applause] came no I don't like it I say good for her good for her for picking this song good for her for like breaking out of her shell doing something different like that do you feel like cool sidekick do you feel like she likes this song no no I feel like she was like I can do something different I can show them that I can do something that's not the usual R&B Whitney thing I can do something completely different and you know what she is doing it and nobody could say that this that she's not pulling it off but it's like the song didn't ask for this I know but did Paparazzi but did Paparazzi ask for posia like that worked tell likes the song likes the song themselves I think that this is what I would do if I was like I have to show I have to show off somehow but I have this simple turd song but I have to do something to like make allow me to use my skills and that's how you end up with like where did this melody come from why are we doing this why is this in here so I I don't think this is bad I don't think this is bad at all and I don't I don't have a deep attachment to the song but I know it really well yeah and I think the melody in this kind of Pop Song is not designed to do this kind of thing yeah it's not illegal you can do whatever you want but I don't know it's not working for me yeah it's not working for me but not because her technique is anything other than impeccable I'm sure I'm sure the audience though is is loves it because all the power of a vocal techniqu are showing well and I don't think you can correct me if I'm wrong this audience this is in China obviously this audience is not going to have the same familiarity nor um attachment let's say that I have right the last song they will have more attachment to definitely definitely so so they can judge it more harshly or have more to compare it to whereas this and that's why I was saying with the last one I was like ah seems fine singing a song seems okay we think this is okay yeah exactly yes yes yes and I think it's I think it's brilliant as far as far as technique goes I just wish she did a song that like wanted this yeah for me for me to be honest Melody like this for singers that have studied what her and I have studied and I use the word study just like what we grew up listening to it's it's really our our paint palette we're like what the this is only one color the am I supposed to do and that's how you I came in like like I got to do something here to like holy I got to do something the Melody has three notes what am I going to do so we end up doing this there's a whole lot of grits she put on yeah she's got grit and she's also like taking the melody just holy it's everywhere but the song is there's two notes the hook is who knows so of course a singer like her is trying to how do I make this something something turn that into like a like a '90s rock song A blaz and that's not in the song anywhere which is fine which is fine what you're being so hard you're right yes you're being harsh you're right this is the same experience I just had with you guys I'm like what's going on so good it is so it is so good but I will say the difference is I think all of us recognize that this is good yes yes I I'm not locally yes locally yes just Choice wise I'm like I don't know if the song wants I don't know if someone would have told me that one day I would see a performance from a prolific vocalist like this and complain about it for all to see you I wouldn't have believed you she was using the sizzle yes I know yeah like Moret like Mor like Moret yes and we know she can do that because she whistles whistle she's in hella shape she looks amazing hell shap 57 man dang like the bodysuit is body suting sounds amazing body suting us I guess I should have let you in I never met has nothing to do with the song anymore but [Applause] okay the other thing she's doing that I do a lot too when I'm trying to get fanciful is you start what I call the beat meaning you start just playing with the timing you start like inhaling instead of where the downbeat hits you'll breathe in that place and it is very very fun and very very indulgent to do as a singer but as a listener especially if the song is a well-known song I'm like are you ever going to land it where it goes no okay don't you ever listen to that don't you ever say like that's a lot of extra this is the opposite of n like we should get you supposed to have two notes you just did 12 but you can it's not against the music she should have sung jch yeah and then now I should have sung this song Yes to happen and I see how you react to it I just walked away will I love her I love I love her so much so many notes yeah I hit so hard okay so this is another thing worth pointing out what for for her her range is Extreme mhm um and I mean even take the whistle out okay just just she's just got a great a great belting and and mixing range the height of this song this is a really weird song choice for her I would probably very not include this in my own set the highest note the on the hook is a B flat okay that is not a terribly flexy note note that if if I had if I was asked to cover a song and the the the highest most sparkly exciting note was a B flat I would move the song up at least two semmit tones okay um because we don't get to get into this the other flavors of our voice this low which is why we're getting so much grit and all the fancy stuff cuz a be flat there's not it's not a thing for us it would be the equivalent of you singing mid high in your range and you'd feel like oh I'm just horse trotting okay like it doesn't feel like you get to go right break so we get this yeah we get this and we end up with a little less accuracy than we want but if we're live in the audience we love it cuz it's juicy [Music] just I hope she never ever ever sees this video of me came Ro I never hit so hard in love all I wanted was to break you so we're flat here oh yeah yeah but we did go for some grit but again she is trying to make interesting a Melody that is too simple for her not too simple any singer should be able to sing anything but instead of relying on the song she's she's trying to fancy it up which because this show is about showing off so she's chosen a non-shy song for a showy show okay so she's got to get showy somehow yeahh all do me I came in like a rocking ball I came in like a raing ball what does that do yeah see so she's taken that Melody instead of raing be [Music] flat she she managed to work in a d which is a more exciting place for our range but then those of us who are familiar with the song are like it don't go like okay what yeah yeah I did to be honest blaz I don't even mind it it just feels like a completely other song that she's kind of like songwriting in front of us it's it's a Rewritten damn near definitely damn near yeah me yeah you me yeah yeah you're me so much good technique all the technique all of it she can do it all and more all of it Iron Chef cooking an egg you what Iron Chef cooking an egg oh yeah yeah that was the Iron Chef cooking an egg that's that's very very well put and I think she should have at least made of FL d omet h what was the other one then show I mean she she was supposed to make an omelette but she just made an egg in the thing according to you guys yeah who is this who is left who is this who is left is this the CH oh is this the dude what is his name I don't no play the dude that I saw in the background yeah yeah yeah yeah what's his name again yeah [Music] nice this is intense already epic oh yeah wow is he wearing wideleg pants or skirt I think it's just white leg pants it's cool that's really nice [Music] cool this is nice this is accurate AF yeah this is this is actually a really really really solid [Music] yeah do you know this song no uh I heard it before it's his song it's his song one of his uh most popular hits I think okay so the audience knows probably pretty sure they know yeah he's kind of freestyling Temple wise he's kind of um like robotto like pushing and pulling yeah yeah that tone though yeah yeah wao not did you just see the spit come out of his mouth I love that yeah I love that I saw uh a Broadway show Sarah barelis and no no no wasn't that one it was the Ben plat one Dean Hansen and I watched him sing and spit into someone's face it was a song like where two people were kind of singing at each other and it literally it sent a shiver down my spine because because it's it's a it's how committed how real how honest right you can't you're not going to do that if you're like carefully doing you have to be in it and I just saw a spray of Awesome [Applause] [Applause] he's a machine dude you know what his tone reminds me of you'll forgive me if I've said this uh his tone reminds me of those really prolific 80s and 90s rockers [Music] oh I feel like he always connects with the musicians on stage with him or at least I've seen him do it before have you I feel like I have I feel like I haveo I think you're confusing him with David to no no you haven't seen him interact with a musician before in the past cuz I know which okay but I'm definitely not confusing David no okay good I his outfit is cool it kind of is in the same not in the same vein as yellow but it's the same he's bringing his Artistry to it mhm it's [Music] neat for [Music] [Music] [Music] that that's the tone that's the tone that's kind of Sweet Child ofy to me where does that sit for you that's hot is it it's a very awkward place for me yeah I can either do the head or I can do the you two have very different voices very different yeah it's cool it's neat like hearing how different notes feel in different singers I mean think about it listen to it out of me you know any higher would be easier actually yes yes yes cuz you can shift the gear but but think about this guys think about this Shante Moore's song Wrecking Ball the peak high note of that song is a B flat the high note here is one semitone below that yeah it's and I'm a you know what I mean I'm a female ah both of them are pretty like meaty more Soul say away his vbr hey he can have that that deep vbr but here what we just heard is when he he makes it more shallow so sometimes he really deep and then this we hear and I that is such an important skill that is if if singers if singers want to know how to level up the next level be that control of your vbr are you uh no not like that you are I'm mostly deep mostly deep FL but you but if I make you like really think about it you can edit it maybe so so choose a not what's what's your what's your goto Le if you're not thinking about it you just like Let It Flow yeah yeah it's really deep so now if I'm like K make it pop and current yeah yeah that's great you go you choose your note oh my verb is all over the place because I've been trying to correct it go [Music] ahead I think you've come a distance since we last talked about this way shallow I have been trying I've been trying really hard I used to be like uh yeah that was more mine that was and then sometimes I do like I do oh you go back to the yeah yeah so I have like three different types of AOS depending on what type of songs I'm so interest yeah yeah yeah well I I think you've come a distance and I think the fact that you're exploring it is all the that you need do you even use ver you do metal and wrap would you even employ V she doesn't no that's fine yeah it's okay it's style do you do you like the sound of it as someone who doesn't use it do you still enjoy this a bit that is not Len lingel right no it's not she like I know I don't need it I try this say like almost there choose a thicker note if you choose a piano yeah yeah yeah yeah right at the end yeah that's it yeah yeah yeah good look at all the v in this room hey more teen it's it's that that I hear that Rock that Rock sound even though I don't think he's probably not known for Rock right what is what is he known for like ballads power ballads power ballads if you think about it that's kind of what that rock was back in that day like big big juicy power ballads like high school dance where you your boyfriend puts his hands on your bum and you just do rock back and forth side to side show yeah yeah woo W it's a powerful powerful performance interesting I mean I would say that his is the most accurate performance of the evening now that being said is he doing as risky of stuff like I don't mean you know I just mean as wild as yellow or fosier or shant Moore and this is his song yeah I mean absolutely but if you take out I I think it was the most accurate yes I agree but I think fos fos was actually pretty accurate too and and she also did a lot of stuff Shore was amazing did you love it uh yeah I liked it I think she stepped out of her conflict Zone she did and if that's what people were looking for then she wins I mean I don't mean she wins I mean she Su succeeded at if that and I bet you she was feeling that pressure to to do something that felt completely different yeah yeah yeah so do we want to do we want to three H newcomer goes first he's the top he's your top for sure cool he's the one that I can just relax and not worrying about he doing something outrageous wait wait who's the top who who Sunan oh Sunan is the top number one who's number two wrecking ball who's number three I don't have a number three fine that's fine that's fine what about you me okay top will be Paparazzi okay uh second will be SW and third will be Shante I don't even want to go you go um I know my [Laughter] last wait wait are we ranking the bottom too no no good luck okay everybody knows my who my last is so yeah my top my top is actually uh is uh FIA yeah Shante actually you know what Sun second and then Shante third same for me for me y yeah I really love FIA and shant Moore I think they are the strongest vocalists uh on the show especially in relationship to the kind of pop music I'm familiar with however tonight I enjoyed yellow the most oh I forgot about the yellow I love the yellow are you serious even more than last time cuz last time it was like but you know what I'm just saying this a romantic song was his vocals the best vocals no no but was it my favorite performance tonight yes why because of the the most colorful because he was wearing mom shorts and he sounded adventurous and he has character and it was fun as hell I love I really liked him out of every singer he took the most risk and always every time is different I thought I thought IIA delivered a another absolutely phenomenal vocal performance I thought shant Moore was not what I would have done not the song I would have chosen for her but she's always going to be great okay my second is a tie for foosia and Sun okay yeah yeah they are really really two different things and I mean what what was more familiar to me and singable for me and recognizable technique to me FIA mhm but who did I think gave a really really really powerful and Flawless performance mhm soon soon then yeah yeah I came in like a racking bow yeah I just closed my eyes and swung left me crashing in a blazing fall all you ever did was you W me yeah you you wreck me
