I originally used CLIP STUDIO PAINT I've been using it for about 5-6 years and it's an indispensable app for me when drawing digital illustrations. "I want to write an illustration digitally, but what can I do? "I'm using Clip Studio, but I haven't mastered it yet." Please see until the end if you like Let's start First of all, I will make a draft Before that, I will introduce the pen I usually use and the pen settings. I often use "Real G Pen" "Freehand drawing" "Dip pen" and "Real G pen" are the pen that is included by default and are used with almost no movement of settings. "Freehand drawing" and "Kashipen" are pens that can be downloaded for free at CLIP STUDIO ASSETS. CLIP STUDIO ASSETS is like a distribution site for materials that can be used in the Clip Studio series. (I will explain in detail later ♪) I will make a draft! I'm going to put a pen! Since I was able to draw a line drawing of the vector layer face once Next, I'm going to draw a line drawing of my hair I always use a layer called "vector layer" for my hair An ordinary layer (raster layer) is created in this new raster layer, but the vector layer uses this on the right side. What happens if you use this ... It looks the same as a normal line Actually, it's an amazing layer that you can move the line freely later like this. What I find most convenient is There is an eraser for this vector layer, and when you are worried that it is sticking out, you can erase it with one touch like this. This is really convenient Especially often used when drawing hair Then I will actually draw it It's sticking out here, right? Use the eraser to erase the vector and select the intersection. It will be a great time saving, isn't it? I've finished putting the tool pen around it without any gaps, so I'm going to apply the undercoat. What I would like to introduce here is a "tool that surrounds and paints without gaps". What is amazing is that the surrounding area is automatically painted like this. It's very useful for undercoating! There is also an eraser version called "Tool to surround and erase without gaps", so I think it's a good idea to download this as well. I will erase the part that has protruded like this Apply skin color The undercoat is over! Lasso painting I would like to recommend a tool called "lasso painting". You can paint the color quickly in the state of a lasso. It's a tool that is included by default In the past, you could select it like this with a normal lasso selection and pop it with a bucket. I think I applied it like deselection ... Skip all this When you first draw a circle, you can paint it Hair highlighting Add a shadow like this time It's a recommended tool that can really save you time! Shadow drawing Eye drawing highlight drawing distortion tool After drawing all the way, adjust the overall balance with the "Distortion Tool". I wonder if this will be implemented in Clip Studio for 5 years It's a feature I've been thinking about for a long time It's finally implemented and really useful! After painting the color, "Hmm? I think it's common to notice that the drawing is strange here. It ’s a magical tool that can fix it in seconds. The appearance of the picture will change completely just by making such small adjustments. I thought that Clip Studio's distortion tool is extremely accurate. The line drawing doesn't go wrong, right? Border removal There is a function that makes it easy to remove borders, but the boundary effect of layer properties If you choose the one called Border It is designed to have a border automatically I use it quite a lot when it's a pop pattern, but the silhouette of the character stands out firmly and it becomes an easy-to-see picture. With or without this It looks completely different ... Isn't it buried in this way? Just add a border and the picture will be drawn at once It looks like a "product" This is probably I think it's the easiest technique I use to make a picture look good, so please try it if you like. Gaussian blur Oh, "Gaussian blur"! You can get a sense of perspective and presence in the picture just by effectively blurring it, but the part that is out of focus, the background, or the part that you want to see in the picture naturally has eyes. You can guide them to go, and the result will be as if it was taken with a single-lens reflex camera. In the case of this picture, it is the eyes and finger hearts that you want to be in focus. You can also choose the strength of the blur like this with the lasso tool See! You can feel that it is in focus just by giving it this way. You should really use blur too! The picture will look nice just by doing a little processing. The shoulder on the other side of the hand is also out of focus, isn't it? You can create a production that focuses only on the important parts. Gradation map There is a gradation map, but this is also really easy It is a function that can give "it's like" I often use it like a filter on a smartphone camera, so I'll use it like that again this time. Next to the layer tab There is a tab called "New Tone Correction Layer", but select "Gradation Map" Then this kind of thing will come out and you can choose the gradation set This time I will apply a filter called "Sunset (purple)" in a gradation set called "Sky". Of course, you can adjust the darkness and cut it out freely. You can use the default gradient map Even with CLIP STUDIO ASSETS, if you look it up in "Gradation Map", you will find a lot, so I think it's a good idea to download the one you like. About ASSETS I use glittering effects, tones, clothing materials (lace, etc.) and hand-painted accessory materials. I downloaded a lot from ASSETS and put it on the picture at the end Just by doing so, the amount of information in the picture will increase and it will be nice. For example, this kind of lace is also a brush, and you can do it just by fuffing without drawing such fine decorations! Of course the size can be changed freely For example, just add this decoration to the back of the illustration I drew this time. If you add color and do this, you can draw the background in an instant. Moreover, the quality is high ...! Shortcut key It's almost completed By the way, you may be wondering what I'm doing with my left hand all the time. This has a shortcut key set I draw with a pen every time and say "Ah, I made a mistake" and "Eraser" "Ah, change the size of the brush ..." It takes a lot of time to say "change to a pen ..." I set a shortcut key on this left-handed keyboard and press it with my left hand to switch Clip Studio has a lot of freedom to set shortcut keys Not to mention the pen and eraser, this lasso coating introduced so far After that, left / right inversion, selection range, etc. I have set all the functions that I think "Don't use often" I think that the work time is probably halved just by mastering this.
