Congratulations. Thank you. So you're standing there-- and
you became really good friends with your competitor, and that
must have been really tough, right? Yeah, it was really hard for me
to stand up there with Angelica because I love her so much. She's this tiny, adorable
singer and I'm just really glad that she's
supportive of me. Yeah, well that's great. Y'all were supportive
of each other. So who is with you today? Excuse me, I'm Petunia. Oh, hi, Petunia. So Petunia has been
with you how long? She's been with me
about a year and a half. A year and a half. This is not something you
usually see young people doing, so when did you get
into this and why? Well, I first saw ventriloquism
when I was at my church and I think I was five. And it was this guy doing
it and I was watching and I was like,
that's fake, there's speakers inside the puppets. I had no idea that he was
doing all the talking. And then I kind of
forgot about it. And then years later I met
this girl and she gave me tips. And I just practiced in
my mirror and it stuck. Wow, that's very impressive. Let's not waste any more time. Everybody needs to see
what you're talking about. Head on over. [APPLAUSE] All right, Petunia. We're on The Ellen Show. You ready to do your thing? Mmhm. Hit it. (SINGING) Summertime
and the livin' is easy. Fish are jumpin' and
the cotton is high. One of these-- --mornings you're
gonna rise up singin'. Then you'll spread your wings
and you'll take to the sky. But till that mornin', there
ain't nothing can harm you. So hush, little
baby, don't you cry. [APPLAUSE] Wow, amazing. Oh, wow, thank you. You can see Darcy perform
live at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on November
third and fourth.
I'm no expert but it sounds like Ellen was speaking afterwards.
It's interesting comparing her performance here to her original audition, as you can see she's a lot better at it now than she was then.
