chulalongkorn! no.1 ranking university in thailand! with the strongest academic reputation various extracurricular activities situated in the heart of bkk today, as a chulalongkorn college student i’m gonna review! today’s vid is a review of chula, THE well-known thai university it’s giving slay, no? welcome back to... chigabooooommx! today, i’m gonna do a thorough review on everything you need to know about chula, a i’ve been collecting info that nobody ever tells you about... like but, me. chiga, your senior will be the one who spill the tea you guys will know whether chula is the real deal or not first off, I need to introduce myself to those who have never heard abt me befor my name is boom chigaboooom! i’m a sophomore studying in the faculty of CommArts at Chulal today is a fine day. such a lovely weather and the perfect timing to spill the tea! as i have already filmed this vid for 3 freaking times! guys... i have filmed it for 3 times already, and this is the third... TT i pray that there won’t be any problem at first, the lighting was so bad... for the second take, i forgot to add the mic to my camera after filming for an hour... its devastating now, it’s going fine for the third take, im just summoning all my spiritual powers and hoping that all goes well to inform your guys about what you need to i did research. ok? I DID TONS OF RESEARCH!! cuz Chula is so interesting to know abt! and there are stuff that we all must learn while you’re here therefore, i had to do some research there are 10 topics that i’ll talk abt i’m gonna talk about the entrance exams, the university’s faculties the academic stuff / chula’s professors: are they good at what they’re teaching?? also i’m gonna talk abt the campus’ ambience what facilities are there? chula’s society fun activities! the expenses for college students places to hang out at night is there somewhere to hang out?? and pros and cons see? everything will be here in one vid! aint no need to watch anything else what are u waiting for? lets roll!! first off is abt the entrance exams i got soo many comments asking abt the exams it got me feeling like im an educational youtuber ?? made me feel like a smartie do i look like a brainy person to u all? but just a disclaimer here that my entrance exams system and yours are TOTALLY different!!! for me, i completed the TCAS exams including GAT, PAT, etc. but it’s now an A-level exam or something it’s a major shift i’d say so, u guys might have to look up the info yourself cuz the requirements for admission to uni are radically different for each year back to 2 years ago, there was an O-net test so, for those who have to get into the uni with the direct admission round you need to go find out what are the requirements for ur dream major go search for chula official’s website it will provide u w/ all the requirements you’ll need to have there will be the past stats from the year before you may check it out on your own focus on the minimum and the maximum one in order to estimate the score we should have for applying and being accepted into chula tada! here is a useful website called Dek-D TCAS it’s the website which can use to calculate our scores u guys must use it and also focus on doing past papers in the end, it’s gonna pay off but just wait! there are also other rounds: the quota and portfolio round the quota round, u have to look up the info on your own u need to check all the requirements that chula asks for but for the portfolio round, i’ll be your guide i’d say that the portfolio round is sth even more difficult but even if you don’t have any national-level achievements, just don’t panic! you should still send in your achievements and don’t worry it’s just a way to boost your chance of getting accepted in the essay section, you have to describe what you got from those achievements how can you apply those skills you got to your uni life? and once you graduate, how will you give back to the uni? you can go check them out for urself via Dekshowport. there are so many portfolio examples, which can inspire you. there’s also a particular group on facebook where seniors who got accepted show their portfolios for those who wish to get into Chula with the early admission, GO GO GO check it out! you can find out what tactics these seniors used to get accepted and learn what is the best method for u >3< next up are the faculties in chula tbh, i have no clue which faculty is good or bad i’d say that each faculty have their own vibe it’s not just abt the education each faculty have their own thing for my recommendation, i’d say, choose the faculty that u like the most. choose what you’re fond of. that way, you’ll feel comfortable while studying for me, whenever i face difficult tasks or situations, i feel soo drained there are soooo many tasks to do when ur in uni guys!! uni’s life is freaking tiresome and no bed of roses TT i never thought that life in uni was exhausting before but guys. it’s tiresome…fr TIRED how the hell this can be so exhaustingT____T uni’s life is like going into battle i never expected it to be this tiresome when i was younger, i didn’t believe that uni’s life would be like this. i would always get into arguments with my sister, who at that time, was already enrolled in uni. like…what? is it that hard? i never thought it would be difficult but after i started studying, i felt it myself btw, don’t choose ur goal uni based on its name ok? bc chula itself is great, but choosing the one that we truly like will make uni’s life most enjoyable TRULY Enjoy! next up is the way of teaching , how is it? are the professors good? it’s such a specific topic that hits u right in the feels T---T bc personally, i met a variety of professors but what i wanted to tell u guys is everyone is so good at their job like OMG overall every professor has a title i went around asking people from different faculties such as law, arts architecture, engineering as well as fine and applied arts what i learnt is that each faculty has its own nature which is so distinct from one another some professors are very strict while some are laid-back take my faculty for example we are very chill but some faculties are super strict they tell u that u must wear the uniform ur hair color must be appropriate sandals, shorts are not allowed i once had a class at the science building and they didn’t let us wear sandals but i never had a class where we were forced to wear a uniform though i pretty much never wear the uniform today i'm gonna share what classes there are in communication arts so u guys can get an idea of what it’s like if we’re talking about the academics i’m a PA major which stands for Performing Arts we basically perform and i’m also minoring in MD which stands for Media Design and Production both of these are mostly project-oriented submitting monologue scripts or other type of scripts there aren’t really any lectures that we have to attend except mandatory subjects it’s very practical altho there are some majors that have reading materials such as PR / ads but it all leads back to communicating with people in the end, we have to pitch work to others make board games, stuff like that on the topic of professors i’ve come across i’m impressed with many of them they’re honestly so good at their work… i’m speaking from the bottom of my heart yea moving on to the GenEd subjects there’s plenty of options when i first entered chula i was so confused! i was like… i was so confused! what even is GenEd? there’s a subject called GenEd, u guys GenEd is basically classified into 4 categories consisting of science, interdisciplinary, social science, and humanities OMG it’s just something made by chula as the 4 mandatory courses u have to take u have the opportunity to choose what classes u want to take within these 4 categories i heard that don’t know if it’s true or not but but they said the dek‘66 students won’t need to take classes from the 4 categories anymore?! but u just need to 4x1=4, 4x2=8, 4x3=12 u just need to complete the 12 credits from the list of GenEd courses u can choose whichever one u want which i think is a good thing like for me i have to take a science subject which i honestly do not enjoy like i would rather take a bunch of social science or interdisciplinary subjects instead (en)joy. (it’s more) fun! fyi, u need to register the courses urself, sth like that also there’s a thing called electives a subject ur free to elect on ur own besides, we have required subjects like ex eng and eap which is english subject which i feel like ..whaaat?! the impractical English t0t in fact, this morning i had to walk to the midterm exams but it was canceled i was like what da ?? it was so bad that i couldn’t take the exams cuz i have to pass ex eng before taking an eap class tho it’s a required subject so we MUsT study moreover we’re still in the same topic there’s registration that we have to focus on oh my gosh it’s the taking topic of chula student it’s sth that we have to fight for it’s like a war personally, i’ve been facing some difficulties with registration cuz chula course registration system is random system it means we can register the course we wanna take but it depends on the random system what section and subject you will get there are soo many interesting gen-ed subjects to study and everyone in the uni has the same thoughts that it’s good but there’s limitation of the number of students to take that course more than 1000 students have to fight for taking that course like having a war cuz there are just 100 seats provided in the previous term, i had to take the course i wasn’t into it but i had to do cuz i had no idea which subject should i take that particular subject is ... that particular subject is OUR CU well, thanks to this subject, i can bring the chula’s info to tell u guys it’s useful i guess innit? idk lol our cu is really cool u know what .. im so energetic bc the exams was canceled ok, next up is the atmosphere! how is the ambience here? y’all. i’m sitting at the bigger part of campus this bigger part of campus is very cool and pleasant the light, ivory color is easy on the eye it’s giving, HEAVEN vibe! it’s giving… something yea so chula doesn’t only have this part of the campus and my major isn’t in this part of campus either lol there’s so many areas on campus oh yea guys. i did some research and turns out there’s 5 areas of campus! i just found out too. i didn’t know this either i only knew abt the “big” and “small” part of chula so today we’re gonna be talking abt big and small chula bc i don’t know abt the other areas, lmao ok, let’s start with the big part of campus this area has a very nice atmosphere. it's very breezy due to the surrounding trees and gardens if you’ve seen my old videos, u can see that it’s sooo nice u can bike and look at this pretty view it’s just GREAT i love it. it's so pretty periodt the buildings look like temples, but it's very pleasant like y’all know, once u exit the bigger part of campus, u can go to siam paragon mall right away. siam is very famous ,so im gonna skip this next up is the smaller part of campus. i feel like i like it what else is there in the small campus… WHAT IS IN IT... a lot bit lemma think there’s samyan mitrtown mall samyan mitr town is sick! it has co-working spaces opened for 24 hrs and there are many stuff u can buy there but samyan mitrtown doesn’t belong to chula. anyways it’s still good to study in the small part of campus bc it has samyan mitrtown haha there are many green spaces as well not to mention the CU centenary park ban that thong road!!! i’m just… so in love with ban that thong. im gonna say that i do love this area. ban that thong is my absolute favorite,, it’s definitely lit a place that u must go eat… guess what it is? it’s cheonman! y’all, cheonman is the saur good. oh yea, i forgot to talk abt sane larb koi. these days, their food isn’t salty anymore! it’s straight up bussin’ i ate it and was like THIS IS ITTT talking abt it makes me salivate yea so these days i've just been very into sane larb koi lately, i’m also into eating hotpot and bbq just dipping food into the broth at places like “Peng you” or “Yija” guys…it’s saur good! there are so many places to explore around ban thad thong rd I can't even begin to explain how good they are. i'm in lovee ♡_♡ next is the 5th topic the facilities! when it comes to the facilities, i felt like chula doesn’t have that much facilities to offer? but after looking up info, i found out that chula actually provides many facilities to its students and i can make use of those facilities and services ofc, i can use free wifi while sitting around chula’s campus it’s kinda okie besides that, students can use all the adobe programs when i have to edit videos, i always use programs from adobe such as premiere pro in order to edit videos chula provides such things to me! i feel like it’s good despite having to use vpn so, i don't have to spend money on such things usually, if we spend money (on adobe) we have to pay monthly, right? but this is FREE co-working spaces that opens for 24 hr occasionally sth of that sort. what are they? At the central library (common area at the dorm) chamjuri 9 and plearn space the central library is opened for 24 hr whenever it’s exam season chamjuri 9, i used to study there
when i was preparing for the exams i think they opened ‘till late?
, but i'm not entirely sure if they open for 24 hr or not tho generally, i feel like the number of co-working spaces that they provide for us are quite fine it's not that little another place that we can sit at is the library but there are risks which varies from faculty to faculty for example, CommArt’s library is extremely small U.U the faculty’s library is so small T T it’s such a sad thing the library is such a tease in itself chula prob knows that we won’t be studying there much *jokes* or not? i mean, we do need to study sometimes in CommArts, but not that much we do, but surely not a lot compared to the other faculties so the library might seem a bit scarce however libraries at other faculties that i’ve studied at are super nice, like the ones at commerce and accounty, engineering, law, are all pretty, attractive and great to study at plus, at chamcuri 9 there are available services such as dentistry physical health treatments like if ur ill if u fall and scratch urself by Beam the Scooter u can also consult a psychiatrist have the psychotherapists we’re not done! (facilities and services) galore !!!! this uni provides a bunch of facilities, right? there’s also pop (shuttle bus) which u can use it’s decent it’s free, everyone! there’s also a place to exercise (where u can) do aerobic dances there’s a sports complex u can swim there i used to swim there there’s also a fitness center u can just visit. it’s free of charge, if ur a chula student and there’s a cafeteria which foods are pricey sometimes : do u think it’s pricey? some stalls are expensive. some aren’t it depends on ur luck, rly depends on the stall too i don’t know how to say it but the cafeteria is sometimes crowded, sometimes not f*ck, i sound like i don’t have any knowledge lol the food at the CommArts cafeteria is around 35 baht which doesn’t make u feel That full : or does it? my friend here says it doesn’t make them feel full it’s not that fulfilling i just feel like (the food that’s) 45 baht starts to be fullfilling later we’re gonna be talking abt the expenses ok?! there’s a dorm up for rent! uni dorm is for those whose hometown aren’t bkk u can register and rent a room note: there’s a behavior checklist that u must pass u have to practice fire drills, things like that but it’s cool tho it’s not that bad there’s also cu i-house which is kinda like the student dorm but it’s not that similar it’s a mix between the the dorm inside and outside campus lastly!!! is not abt chula’s facilities but (chula) is very close to mall which is convenient and makes it easy to use public transportation which is fully equipped **bike noise chula ATE next topic is chula’s community as i mentioned earlier students from each faculty have their own vibe which is different from one another it’s the society that u can find many excellent people haha i dunno what to say but everyone is really good at their own thing i’d say seems like they handle a bright future in life i have no idea what to say for the community, idk whether u guys will encounter good and bad friends or not cuz it depends on the academic year u enrolled in and ur luck i don’t know what else to say accpect the fact that everyone is so talented and great in their own way that’s how i feel u can see the diversity a multitudinous bunch, i’d say cuz we come from different places all over thailand it’s very diverse! i got to meet certain types of ppl i never expected to encounter ppl it allows me to broaden my perspective and become an open-minded person u get it?? when it comes to the CommArts’ community there’s no seniority at all! the senior are super friendly not being like im older than you No no no such things don’t exist anymore in CommArts it’s such a warm society, to me LIKE A what was the word being like a family u guys might think i’m exaggerating the personnels at Chula are really nice to me next up is the activities! there are tons of activities to do plenty of them! for those who are energetic, u will be joining for sure begin with cu first date cu open freshy games oooh freshy games!!! a lot! there are so many festivals in chula loy kra thong chulalympics wth is chulalympics it just added, new sport things lol for me, i couldn’t catch up the activities in each faculty tbh it’s not just the faculty of CommArts to have particular activities but every faculty have the own activities For the faculty of CommArts, there’s like
i dunno there are activities according to seasons winter acoustic and summer acoustic chirstmas Pid piewww it’s the activities that we’re like hosts to welcome the brand-new students im saying that such activity in each faculty is sooooo awesome! everyone went all out for the activity for the faculty of CommArts, it took 5 days to held those activities it made me feel like oh.. I’m dead just keep dancing 5 day streak tbh there were like dancing in every faculty besides, we have sensamoot activity to let us know one another we have an open house activity some of my friends had to do sth like go setting up the booth creating the club u wish to join one day visit activity at nitade besides, we have a dance battle between each of faculties CommArts VS Fine and Applied Arts CommArts VS Architecture everyone was dancing idk why the hell we keep battling in dacning all day long u guys will be able to do many things u can choose what u wanna do during uni’s life in club and so on and u dont worry abt the activities bc there always be someone tell u via Line chat.. do u wanna do? Which one do u wanna do? well, since it’s too much to do sometimes , it lacks of ppl joining next is the expenses u will spend money on well, i used to post my vid about the expenses on yt called “what i spent in a week” if u wish to know, go go go watch it lemme say, i spent money on things like im a crazy rich haha around 3,000 baht a week i feel like it’s quite a lot! Per A week guys! as i mentioned that ban that thong is a perfect place to eat i’m such a big eater im eating like a horse anyways, it depends on ur spending behavior and also ur traveling for me, my house is too far from chula so, the expenses for coming to chula is around 200-300 baht therefore, i decided to live in condominium i have to spend a lot for living in condominium internet, electricity bill and so on but it’s normal i guess cuz chula is in the middle of downtown of bkk compared touniversity in BKK like SWU? Well, i used to study highschool there at PSM when i was in high shcool i feel like the expenses are not different 300 baht per day if u want to know more what i spent on, just go watch that vid xoxo we’re on the 9th topic which was included because a lot of u guys wanted to abt the places to hang out since chula seemed like it didn’t have anywhere to do late night affairs are there any bars or pubs around here? i had this question myself when i was in high school too but when i became a freshman i became curious as to why u guys wanted to know abt this so much lol cuz it’s not that interesting?? lmao Drink Drank Drunk… drinking in general can take place on every occasion in here not in here but when ur a college student! partying is ubiquitous u guys will have a chance to party as much as u desire but just wait for a bit go study hard first! but if u ever see me at these bars, come say hi !! oh no i’m an educational youtuber now the last topic for today’s video last but not least is coming from the bottom of my heart pros and cons of chula for this topic, i’ve been sleeping on it should i talk about this?? well, it’s only my point of view so if u dont wanna get the biass, just watch the previous portions of this vid let’s rooooll! there are sooo many pros of being a student here LIKE A LOT but one thing that is remarkable is the people here there are seniors who have already graduated but came back to uni it’s all about connections i have to say anyways you gotta have to the ability ,so they gonna work with u yk? being seniors and juniors doesn’t mean that u will secure a job position next is diversity as i’ve alr mentioned the ppl here are diverse, unique, and open-minded diversity comes with differences in mindset due to the different povs, they ignite our thoughts & ideas i can continuously improve and enhance my own skills i love it it’s a great thing the third thing that i enjoy abt chula is its location bc it’s situated in the heart of bkk, that’s all! it’s perfect and has accessibility to many things for me, i participate in many activities so it’s convenient one of my friend is a tutor & they can just teach at siam it’s easy this downtown feeling is like nyc’s busy busy girl being here makes me energetic essentially, transportation is easily accessed despite the bad traffic, these things are a great convenience let’s continue w/ the drawbacks it’s painful ;-; still, i need to share this w/ u guys the first drawback is the expenses we have to spend TT i spent a LOT !!! it was since the tutoring the admission , i spent a ton of money there are many things to spend on ,lots of stuff there and there just the props for the assignments especially for the faculty’s activities everything is freaking expensive JUST expensive the second thing that i feel is that everyone is so good here right because of that many people are very egoistic like if u ask me, are they actually talented? ofc they really are would i get cursed out for saying this?!! t-t it gibing dont give a shit vibe sometimet-t some people aren’t that great at verbally expressing themselves sth along that line sometimes they would use a particular type of wording which is conveyed into another type of message THIS IS JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION BTW!!!! thirdly is Stress y’all t’s just it’s just stressful! it’s quite stressful even tho i might seem carefree and optimistic but prior to uni, i was more cheerful it’s stressful and not only because of the academics that’s pressuring (me), everyone there are… like ummmm it’s an ambivalence: happiness in the midst of stressing out assignments that we have to submit to the prof… the prof have (high) expectations for us college students it needs to be flamboyant and nifty which at times can make u feel like aren’t we supposed to learn about this in class? nevertheless they instantly demand this quality of work they’re like… it has to be done now! so it made me feel a little stressed from time to time (we’ve) completed (all the topics for today!) yessss yeah yeahhh i’m so happy that i’ve told u guys this that i was able to share everything to y’all because it was my goal since i got accepted to chula to share my experiences bc when i was preparing for my admissions nobody was there tell me their behide stories abt chula LIKE thiss YESSS if there were any to watch, it would’ve been great yea so everything that i’ve said has been sifted out already however, i would like to apologize if there are any errors that’s ALL anyways, if anyone has any questions pls leave a comment down below i hope that this video will be helpful to y’all love love love moe moe beam byebyeee ♡( ˘ ³˘)♥︎ chulalongkorn 👍
