any normal city of this world was designed in a very ordinary way however some cities were designed very different from every city in the world designed to amaze the world *برشلونة* Catalonia we are in Barcelona what was the shape of the cities in the past? as you watch in movies they were castles and a wall surrounding the city during war until cities gradually became more modern and civilized urban cities Barcelona city was very insanitary people were literaly dying and the average lifespan of a person is 30 years in the 18th century until the designer Cedrà came in 1859 and presented a civilized design for the city in order to turn it into a modern city and get rid of the wall the Spanish name of the design is L'Eixample in English it is called "the Extension" which means growth or expansion exactly what we call an additional part of a home, an expansion he created a rectangular design and wide roads he used quadratic blocks of one uniform size with similar height in order to create a plaza and small gardens among them also to facilitate traffic flow and allow sunlight to pass as well as ventilation to the entire buildings until the year of 2014 an engineer called Salvador, created a very exceptional design for the city called "the Superblocks" named as superblocks a design.. it's a design for the city towards reducing traffic, pollution and to leave more space for pedestrians and cycles in every part of this city, there are a block of 6 masses an apartment complex where busses are not allowed to pass cars are allowed to move at the speed of 10 km/h the maximum which allows citizens and bicycles to move around more freely it was implemented in the majority of the city in 2018 you can find superblocks in every part of the city the square shape of 6 blocks in every part of the city they didn't connect it for cars and bases to pass in all directions among the superblocks the main idea is to give priority to pedestrians over vehicles the city has a very beautiful design but it also has the oldest project in the world still unfinished the oldest unfinished project in the world like in Jordan, there are 2 buildings which are on-hold for more than 10 years this project started in 1882 and it is still under construction called the Sagrada Familia seems this project will never finish and the reason is.. it was designed by the Catalan architect, Antoni Gaudi one of the World Heritage Sites Gaudi passed away in 1926 they did try to complete the project but the reason they failed to finish the project for more than 139 years, because.. when the designer died.. they completed the construction according to his drawings however, in 1936 the construction stopped for 16 years due to a civil war in Spain they found all the drawings were damaged so they couldn't complete the construction they got in trouble they spent 15 years collecting the drawings but the engineers couldn't complete the building which is a Basilica (Church) they say it will finish by 2026 even as we visited it, cranes were working on it thus, it marks 100 years since Gaudi's death look how it looks from the back it's wonderful! there are incompleted projects around the world imagine after 100 years! the whole generation has changed and the project is still.. unfinished! and right now we're going to the Camp Nou well of course.. Barcelona.. the stadium Messi left, but this city is still.. Catalonia is a region and represents 20% of Spain's economy that's why Spain is against the separation Barcelona doesn't need Spain and Catalonia is always trying to separate from Spain and they have their own language that's why.. they initiated the fight through the football team since Catalonia wants to separate from Spain so they express by winning through the football team and gain their independence so they switched from the usual war to a football war this is the Camp Nou to them Barcelona team..
